Chapter Six: Literary
With curiousty, I'm sure you would've wanted to see the inside of your club too. Perhaps it could be decorative, or not that decorative... And maybe, you just might meet someone in the club. Perhaps it could be your life-time best friend, or maybe even your crush... Or just some person. Who knows? The possibilities are endless.
--×☆×--
(Breath in, breath out... It's just a new club, Cal,) Calllisthenes thought, nervously trying to encourage himself as he hesitantly grabbed the door knob to the club room. (Okay, okay... Here we go.) He quickly turned the knob to the right and opened the door, sliding it to his right...
What greeted him was a storage room-like club room, that had an almost happy aura to it. (I have to admit, it's weird for a place like this to have such a optimistic feeling.) Callisthenes thought as he walked around around the room, marveling at the different photos and pinned up sheets of paper, along with the ordinary two tables in the middle of the room. Some of the sheets of paper on the walls had some sort of other cover on them, like it was some kind of book. One pinned stack of paper on the wall said; "Jessica's Lament" and under the title was the presumed to be author's name, "Zoe Atteberry". It had a sad aura to it, almost heart-wrenching. The stack of paper next to it was a lot less sad... More or less filled with madness and hatred. The title and author were "Massacre: 12 Wings" by "Austin Akamine". (Something tells me I should stay away from that book...) Callisthenes thought as backed away from the book. (Not only does it feel like madness... But it feels like if it were made by some angry beast...) His attention then averted to the more calmer, and happier feeling book next to the other... angry, strange book.
This calm, kind-like feeling book... had almost cancelled out the feelings of the other horrifying book next to it. The title was "How A Robin Sings" and the author being... "Nari Schneider." Callisthenes read aloud. The name itself was calming to read, even for him. (Something tells me the author of this book might be the leader of this club... Just a feeling though.) He looked at the book he had in his hand, which was "Naoya The Dog". The story by Nari had a feeling that reminded him of his book. He put his book into his pocket, and averted his attention to the photos on the left wall of the class... One of the photos had a picture of what seems to be a clearly bored girl with extremely messy, long, black hair. Another photo had the picture of a boy with an overly energetic look in his eyes, that was almost feral. Another photo... was interesting for Callisthenes, for some reason. The girl in the photo was a little more ordinary than the other people in the photos, her bangs were back, being held by headband and exposing her forehead, but her hair was long, wavy, and somewhat blonde-ish brown. "This is definitely... It has to be Nari. I don't know why, but I have a feeling it definitely is her-" Suddenly, the door began to slide open, making Callisthenes almost jump. He quickly turned away from the wall, and leaned against, making himself looking like he had been waiting. He turned his head over to who was at the entrance.
It was definitely the same girl from the photo he had just looked at. Same hair, same held back bangs, same headband. She sighed and closed the door behind her, and collapsed against it. She wiped her uniform slightly with her hands. It seemed like she had been caught out in the rain... She pulled out a piece of folded paper from her skirt's pocket and took a moment to look at it in a sad way. "The world is just not on my side today..." She mumbled, looking down in hopelessness. Callisthenes decided it was time for him to talk. "H-hello," He breathed, nervously. "I'm one of the new freshmans, Callisthenes, and I uh- was wondering if I could join this club." The girl looked up back at him, with a hopeful glint in her eyes. She quickly shot up, "Really? Oh my god, we haven't had a new club member in ages!" She exclaimed, her sadness being quickly replaced with happiness. "But, but... I need to get the registration paper," She ran over to one of the tables and pulled a pen from her other pocket, and put the paper on the table, revealing the many questions for registration.
"So, what's your full n- oh wait! I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself!" She said quickly, fixing her composure. "I am Nari Jame Schneider, the leader and founder of the Literary Club!" Nari beamed, smiling confidently. She looked very leader-like with her composure, and he could tell she was experienced in leadership. "There are two other members that are unfortunately not with us just yet, but right after I finish this registration paper for you, I'll call them over! Now, first question, first name and last name?" She looked back down at the paper and spun the pen around her fingers. "Callisthenes Forger." Callisthenes answered, walking closer so he could see the questions. "Okay, C-A-L-L-I-S-T-H-E-N-E-S, correct?" Nari asked, looking back up at him. His eyes widened, he didn't expect her to spell it right on the first try. "You managed to get it in a one shot." He said surprised. She nodded proudly back at him, her eyes now beaming with happiness. "Thanks, I know how names work, trust me!" She wrote vigorously on the registration sheet, asking him different questions as she wrote. While she wrote one of his longer responses, he decided to try and found out more info about her.
He focused on her body, and began to think. (Nari... Nari Schneider...) He thought, the world soon becoming engulfed in darkness, as he stared directly at Nari. (Sophomore... Leader of the Literary Club... Death undetermined...?) He cocked his head confused at Nari as he continued to think. (Why is she undetermined...? Maybe it's because she's-) "There, the registration paper is done! Thanks for answering, Cal!" Nari said as she slapped the pen back down on the table, causing the world to no longer be covered in darkness. "O-kay, I'll bring this to the office as soon as the day is over," She said as she got up and turned to him with the paper in her hands. "But now, I gotta introduce you to everyone! So wait while I call the other two..." She put the paper back on the table, and pulled out her phone to call the other members. Nari's smile had reached her ears, and it was clear that she was very optimistic. (Nari... I think we'll become good friends,) He thought as he sat down to wait in one of the chairs. He looked at her and smiled. (We will, I can tell.)
--?!?--
Laurette grinned evilly as she pressed her ear against the Literary Club door. "... Did you hear that, Lyn?" She whispered to Lyn, her practical twin sister. "Wh-what?" "I said, did you hear what Nari said in the club room?" She whispered more angrily to Lyn. "Hear what...?" Laurette rolled her eyes at her answer, and growled almost bird-like. "Yanny's oppa- y'know what? Let's drop the koreaboo act for now. Besides, it is soo racist..." Laurette groaned. "Yanny's target, Calistheh-nez or whatever his damn name is, is joining the shitty Literary Club with that feral killer." She explained in detail. "We better tell Yanny! That way, we can get Cal before that wild wolf does, and we would be gladly rewarded by our chief!" Lyn exclaimed, smiling proudly. Laurette rolled her eyes and nodded, and the two got up to go see Yanny.
