Aurora woke up to the loud sound of her alarm. She let out a groan as she clicked the stop button, turning off the annoying sound. She slowly sat up, combing the hair out of her face. She pushed the covers off of her legs before standing up.
A yawn escaped her lips as she went over to her closet and pulled out a white sweater before picking out a pair of black leggings from her dresser. She took off her pajama pants and t-shirt before putting on her sweater and leggings.
She used her fingers to comb through her hair as she looked into the mirror. Her natural curly hair was now under control causing a smile to form on her lips. She slipped on her air forces that Mia had bought her for Christmas before walking out of her room. She walked into the kitchen as saw her father near the stove.
"Whatcha making?" She questioned as she took a seat in front of the island. Her dad wasn't usually one to make her breakfast before school, so it made her happy that he was doing this for her. She had noticed that he's been changing for the better ever since he and Daniel had joined forces.
Johnny turned around with a grin, "Bacon and eggs... well, the bacons a little burnt but, it's still edible." He spoke as he referred to the burnt bacon beside the scrambled eggs that he placed in front of Aurora. Aurora let out a small laugh, "Thanks dad, I like it a little crispy."
Aurora took a few bites of her food as her dad poured some orange juice for her as he opened a beer. "You ready to start school again today, Rory?"
Aurora shrugged her shoulders at her dad's words not really wanting to think about it. She didn't mind going to school, she loved to learn, but she didn't really have a lot of friends so she spent most schools days alone with nothing but her thoughts, "I guess. It's really boring, you know?"
Johnny hummed, "Yeah, school sucks." Aurora chuckled at his words before stabbing her fork into the pile of scramble eggs that were on her plate. She then took a bite of the eggs before taking a sip of her orange juice.
"What are you doing today?" Aurora asked looking up at her dad.
"Just some training with LaRusso." Johnny told her, "Which reminds me, I can't take you to school like we talked about."
Aurora sunk in her seat as the words left her father's mouth. A frown formed on her lips as she let out a small, "Oh." She looked down at her plate using her fork to play with the leftover eggs. Johnny noticed this and placed a comforting hand onto her shoulder, "I'm sorry, kiddo. I'm sure Mia could take you..."
"It's fine, dad." Aurora spoke as she sent her father a tight smile, knowing that he was trying his best, "I'll just take the bus." She had told Mia that she didn't need a ride because her father was going to take her, so Mia left for work earlier.
Guilt began to consume the older Lawrence, "I'm sorry, Rory."
"It's okay, daddy. I promise." She assured her father as she checked the time on her phone, realizing that she had to leave soon so that she wouldn't miss the bus, "Have fun with Mr. LaRusso." Aurora spoke as hopped off of her chair and rushed to her room to grab her backpack. She slung the straps over her shoulder as she grabbed her wired earbuds and plugged them into her phone.
She made her way back into the kitchen and walked over to her father. She stood on her tippy toes and placed a small kiss onto his cheek. "Thanks for breakfast, dad." Aurora told him as she made her way towards the door.
"Have a great day, Aurora." Johnny told his daughter with a small smile as he grabbed her plate and scrapped the rest of her foot into the trash can. Aurora turned back towards her father as she went to open the door, "Bye, dad."

Aurora waited at the bus stop, her earbuds blasting Gracie Abram's lyrics. She held her phone in one hand and held onto her backpack strap with the other. She tapped her foot against the ground as she waited impatiently for the bus to come.
She looked up as she heard the loud breaks of the bus. She put her phone in her pocket as the bus doors open. She walked into the bus, holding onto the rails. Aurora sent the bus driver a small smile before making her way into the isle. She looked around for an open seat but her eyes landed on Anthony LaRusso.
The two always had this unspoken thing. They were always kind to each other even before their fathers made amends. One thing that did stick out to her though, was how his new friends picked on almost everyone in the school, but never her. She figure that they were afraid of her father, but Anthony knew it was a different reason.
Aurora sent him a small smile before taking a seat on the bus. Anthony waved at her, sending a soft smile her way. Anthony admired her for a few moments before he was snapped back into reality. "Stop looking at your girlfriend." Zack told the LaRusso.
Anthony furrowed his brows, "She's not my girlfriend." Anthony argued, not wanting Zack to know about his 'small' crush on the Lawrence girl. Zack obviously caught onto his lie, "Whatever you say, LaPusso."
"Dude, look at that." One of Anthony's friends pointed out as he saw a boy dancing with his headphones on. The whole bus erupted in laughter and snickers, making fun of the boy.
Aurora jumped a bit at the sound of the bus's horn. She took her earbuds out and furrowed her brows at the sound of laughter. She glanced out the window and saw a boy with a shocked look on his face. A frown formed on her lips as she watched him walk into the bus. She had never seen the boy before.
"Nice moves, new kid." Zack spoke up, "What do you call that? The loser limbo?" The friend group laughed at Zack's statement causing Mackenzie to roll her eyes.
Anthony shook his head, "No, no, no, no. I think it's called the 'I'm trying not to shit my pants dance.'" The whole bus laughed at Anthony's comment causing Aurora to frown. She despised this new version of him. She missed the kindhearted boy that she used to know, who always knew how to make her smile. Not this arrogant jerk, who hung out with the popular assholes.
"Oh, shut up." Aurora spoke, clearly annoyed with the group, "Stop being a bunch of dicks." The group mumbled a few insults her way but she didn't care, her eyes were met with Anthony's stares. She shook her head at her friend, disappointed in his actions.
As the new kid began to walk down the aisle, Aurora patted down onto the seat, hoping that the boy would sit next to her. The boy sent her a smile as he sat beside her. "Sorry about them, they can be jerks." She assured the boy, "I'm Aurora, most people call me Rory though."
"I'm Kenny." The boy spoke softly as he reached out his hand, hoping that she would shake it. Aurora smiled at him before shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you, Kenny." Aurora said, happy to have finally made a friend.
"You too, Rory." Kenny replied before letting go of her hand.
From the other side of the bus, Anthony sunk into his seat as he watched the new kid interact with his girl. He crossed his arms in defeat, thinking about how he disappointed the Lawrence girl looked. How upset and annoyed she was with him. And how she probably didn't want to talk to him right now. The only thing he wanted to do was apologize to her, but he knew how stubborn Lawrence's could be. After all, Aurora did take after her father. But he knew he had to apologize soon, because he didn't want to loose the unspoken friendship that he and Aurora shared.
