Relief ,

That's the feeling that Vivianne Gilbert felt as soon as the blinding rays of the sun overcame her .Moaning softly , she dragged her comfy duvets off her body and sat up straight. Rubbing her knuckle into her eye , she let out a breath and stared at wall.Pondering whether school was actually worth it , she groaned at the fact that her attendance was bad and she'd probably be fined if she carried on like this.

Tiredly rubbing her eyes , she sluggishly walked to the bathroom and started stripping herself of her clothes. The cold water jolted her awake quickly as any form of tiredness washed away with the water.

She stole some of her twin's clothes before leaving ,hoping she wouldn't mind. Twirling her hair with a curler, Vivianne leaned to get her jewellery from her vanity.Stepping back she made a noise of approval before opening the door from her room and got attacked by a heavenly scent.It had been a while since she actually ate a good tasting breakfast , her cooking was horrible , as Elena says , and was barely edible. Vivianne had to agree with her sister once she taste the eggs she'd made .

Pulling her hair into an up-down hair do , she made her way to the kitchen , where the smell was coming from. Kai was humming to some AC/DC song that was playing on the radio , and glanced up to a shocked Vivianne , a smile breaking out on his face as she walked closer. He was wearing a somewhat tight black shirt that outlined his abs and biceps attractively , Vivianne couldn't help but think. Shaking her head , she walked closer.

" I made you some breakfast " Kai says , a little grin on his face as he turned around to wash his hands.

" Thank you " she mumbled quietly , feeling like she could cry at the sight of the mouthwatering food. Kai really knew how to cook, amazingly at that.It was a grand break fast of sort - pancakes , waffles , eggs and sausages.

Kai turns back around and gives her a half smile , " Help yourself ". Vivianne looked down before grabbing a plate and started piling mountains of food on her plate. Putting the juice back in the fridge , she saw how there was barely anything left in there , im gonna have to do some grocery shopping soon she thought. Making her way to the living room , she saw the back of another tall male on the couch.

Smiling slightly , she moved to sit down in an armchair across from Kol , immediately digging in. Kol smiles at her , " Morning love, did you have a good sleep" His low deep morning voice spoke out sending her a trail of goosebumps. Vivianne lightly nods before asking , " what was it like being a human all those centuries ago?". She didn't know if he found it personal but it had slipped out of her mouth before her mind had time to think it over.

"I guess i miss it , but I wouldn't change my vampire side for the world , otherwise i would have never met you but i do miss my brother Henrik.He was my partner in crime and my favourite of all my siblings , we both would practice magic and prank our neighbours endlessly , it was fun times . Until my brother , Klaus , took to him to see the werewolves transform one night and he got killed for it, after that our family was never the same again " Kol smiled , as he reminisced the past ,a happy glint shining in his eyes. Vivianne felt sad when she had heard that Henrik had died , his death taking quite a toll on Kol. She didn't know why she felt sad but did any way.

Kol snapped out of it and looked at Vivianne , " Well come on love , i'm taking you to school. "

" Oh no you don't have to do that, its okay-"

"Nonsense love , now hurry up would you?" Before she could protest further , Kol had already sped away .Vivianne huffed before going to put her plate in the sink , washing her hands she saw someone place an arm on the counter beside her, staring at her, biting his lips.

" You know you dont have to go to school , Kol could compel you straight A's anyway. SO why dont you skip the school drama , i mean they treat you horribly anyway , so just quit "

Vivianne chuckled humorlessly looking up to meet Kai in the eyes , " Nope i refuse to leave school , no matter how annoying it actually is. I want a normal experience ". Trying to end the conversation there , she moved to dry her hands but Kai grabbed it softly , " you can have a normal experience as you say it , without school " .

Vivianne wiggled her hand out of Kai's grasp and dried her hands , " you wont change my mind on this " .Knowing she was correct , Kai let out an exaggerated sigh and walked to the door .Vivianne followed behind him seeing as they were both going to school together. Kol was waiting out by the car , leaning on as his eyes2 light up at the sight on Vivianne.

She chuckled as Kai opened and closed the door for her , what a gentleman. Kol started the car and they drove off to hell, or school as some call it.

Stepping into her school , she scrunched up her nose at the smell. The smell of sweat and urine mixed with cheap deodorant and high perfume sprayed everywhere.Keeping her head down , she walked into her first class , French , she had signed up to take spanish but the teachers just ignored it and put her into french.

Making her way to her seat at the back corner, the teacher , Miss Lawer , walked in the classroom with a cheerful smile ,expecting some back but was only returned with an ocean of despondent faces .The teacher placed her books down and started to write the date on the board .

The squeaking of the whiteboard pen stopped momentarily as someone walked in the classroom , making all heads turn to the door . Vivianne swore she could see googly eyes being given to him by every girl , including her dear friend Alisha and the , Charlotte, popular girl with a boyfriend. The brunette scoffed internally at their looks , slumping back in her chair.

Turning to the boy who interrupted her lessons Miss Lawer looked the boy up and down , " Late during your second day, Parker"

"And?" Kai pressed.

She raised eyebrows before letting out a sigh , " Don't talk back , its rude " Miss Lawer tutted, pointing at Vivianne , " Go sit down next to Vivianne " . Kai shrugged lazily at the exasperated teacher , before turning to the Gilbert.

As soon as her name was mentioned , Charlotte turned around with a scoff .Vivianne refused to meet her eye contact as she locked eyes with Kai , his eyes glued to hers as he walked over to her with smirk on his face.

Kai kicked his chair from the table and sat down, legs open as one arm rested against the window sill and one arm writing something. Vivianne ignored him for some time of the lesson until she felt his strong gaze at him and turned to him , as he was already looking at her.

" Seriously , did you really have to come to school here " She whispered , annoyed that her school work would be disrupted by him.

Kai licked his lips before whispering back , " of course , if it meant to see you , angel ". Her heart secretly fluttered at his flirting

Raising an eyebrow, they stared into each eyes for what seemed like eternity before she cleared her throat , a dark tinted blush rising to her cheeks .Turning away from him , she focuses her attention to her rings and Kai's gaze lifts off of her after a while , focusing on the board.

two more minutes , she thought as she blushed more at the thought of his ocean eyes . She couldn't help but notice that Charlotte turned around , again but not to her , to Kai. She gave him a flirty wave and wink before turn back around , flicking her hair in the process.Kai seemed unfazed.Instead of scoffing in her mind , she did it out loud , quiet but loud enough for Kai to hear it. Shuffiling his chair closer, he leaned to Vivianne , who had a nervous look on her face , his lips brushing lightly against her earlobe.

" Jealous , love ? " His smirk widens.

Vivianne rolled her eyes and shook her head , too shocked to even utter a word. The bell rang through the school as everyone got up and started packing their things. Slinging her bag over her shoulder , she quickly speed -walks out the door , too flustered to be around Kai.

Alisha stood outside waiting for herand linked there arms together.

" You're so lucky you get to sit next to him , he's so hot . Did he say anything to you ? " Alisha gushed , sighing at how ahem , dreamy Kai was. Vivianne shook her head , opening her locker she placed her french book in and grabbed her PE kit .Alisha leaned against the locker next to Vivianne's .

" Do you think you could introduce me to him? Like I know your strangers or whatever but if you become friends with him , you could introduce me "

Vivianne furrowed her eyebrows , " Trust me hes not someone you'll like , all he does is doodle in class and he doesn't even listen to the teacher "

" Okay but who does? " Alisha points out " He definitely seems like the bad boy type .God , he is so hot "

Vivianne felt like gagging , " Please don't , keep your fantasies about him in your head 'lisha. cmon , you're gonna be late to english and I'm gonna be late for gym "

Alisha scoffed and walked away. Vivianne let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and pushed her way through the sea of faces.A football flies over head as two muscular jocks throw the ball. A band of girls come out of the bathroom as they converse , excitement washing over their faces , probably about the new boy.

Vivianne thought about how life is so small , vampires , witches , werewolves and many other species exist and people are worried about new kids at school. Humans thinking they're the top of the food chain and how they are so painfully wrong, all of Viviannes nightmares and creatures of horror movies turned out to be true . Who knows if a jinn pops up next? she chuckled at the thought

Her mind grazed over how all the people were so innocently unaware of the supernatural creatures of the night. However it takes a different turn as she thought over the pact that she was bounded by the universe to two people , they were meant to be together , before she was even born. She calmed down about it now but was still bouncing with fear , her only logical way of handling it is to " see how it goes ".

She felt overwhelmed , everyone was expecting her to know how to swim without ever learning it. She was supposed to be the soulmate to two people who had been waiting longer than her lifetime for her. Vivianne didn't know if she would be able to swim , to reach their standards or to drown , disappointing yet again more people. She didn't want to drown , she wanted to swim , long enough to get to shallow water , where everyone's expectations of her weren't as high as the body of water.

Her train of thoughts was interrupted by someone clearing their throat. Vivianne looked up from tying her laces and took her foot off the bench. Charlotte stood there all high and mighty with one minion on each side , crossing her arms. Vivianne groaned , too tired to deal with them. Putting her hands on her hips , the brunette waited expectantly for why Charlotte came and interrupted her. " What's wrong with you ? " Charlotte asks , narrowing her eyes at Vivianne.

Vivianne felt taken a back , " Excuse me ? "

"Do you really think that Kai's going to go for you?" Charlotte asks and it all made sense. She was jealous , for some deluded reason of Vivianne because he sat next to her?? Something not even she could control. Vivianne makes a noise of confusement and Charlotte scoffs and looks at her friends.

Taking a step closer to the brunette , " God you really are the dumb aren't you " Charlotte leans closer until she is face to face with Vivianne " If you know whats good for you , you'll stay away from him and crawl back into that hole where you came from ". Vivianne just held back a laugh but unfortunately , it came out as she burst out laughing.

Charlotte shoots her a confused look , furrowing her eye brows further , "You're so pathetically desperate that i actually pity you , char. I mean , what? one hot guy steps in the room and you're trying to get your sticky hands on all over him., You're so pathetic" And with that Vivianne walked out of the changing room.

"What the hell just happened " Vivianne muttered , already feeling the guilt making a passage way into her mind.

Two more periods flew by and it was time for lunch. The lunch hall bustling of loud chatter with laughter and shouts as people threw gossip around like pass the parcel.Everyone trying to hear the other person but fail due to the excessive noise. Finally getting in the queue , Vivianne decided to observe who was forming alliances with who, laughing when she saw the guy from earlier try to hit on another girl.

Getting her cold food , Vivianne opts for going to the library but was cut short by someone tapping her shoulder. Turning around , Vivianne felt relieved for it to be Kai , thinking it was a random creepy dude.She breathed in relief.

"Come on I wanna show you something " His excited voice peaks her curiosity as she decides to follow him , ignoring the band of stares following her.

Kai holds her hand , and she tries her best to ignore the fluttery feeling as their hands touch. Kai takes her out of the lunch hall and into the hallway

"Kai, where are you taking me? " Vivianne whines , her eye brows furrowing. Kai lets out a little laugh , " you'll see soon princess".

Vivianne felt like the universe was trying to get her to spill out her stomach on the floor with all these nicknames. Kai dragged her all the way to the top of the school and in front of a door with a passcode. Looking at Kai with an annoyed look , he just grinned back .Vivianne couldn't help but stare as he muttered a few Latin words under his breath, eyes closed , concentrating deeply. After a few moments , she saw the door unlock , hesitantly opening it she was met with darkness.

Holding the door , Kai mockingly bowed , " Ladies first " Rolling her eyes , Vivianne cautiously stepped in , trying to check in her surroundings but seemed impossible due to the lack of light. Coming in , Kai locked the door behind them and turned on the light, revealing a dusty ladder that led to a beam of light

"This is going to blow your mind " He warned her as he guided her to climb the ladder. After making sure she was up a few steps , Kai started climbing it.

" You know if this turns out to be some sacrifice thing , i'm going to haunt you for the rest of your life "

" Why would i even do that to the one thing i care about most? And if was , it'd be better then then this "

"Really , that's wha-" Vivianne was cut off as her hand slipped , causing Kai to panic and grab her thighs Breathing heavily , she grabs back on to the ladder , grip so tight that her knuckles looked as white as snow, not just from her slip but the feeling she got when he grabbed her. Reaching for the top , she waited for Kai to get up , crossing her arms.

Once Kai finally reached , he stood up but when he did , he was inches away from the brunette who had an intense blush on her face .They broke eye contact when he grabbed her arm to make sure she was okay. Vivianne sat there flustered and very bothered. When he saw that her hand was okay , he brought it to his lips and kissed it , not daring to lift eye contact with her.Considering the fact that she was very bothered with him , she let her arm out of his grasp and look towards the bookcase.

"Honestly Kai" She groaned , covering her eyes with her knuckles.There was a moment of doubt , and Kai couldn't hide the smirk on his face when he tilted a book and the bookcase opened, not fully but enough for the two to enter. He thought her reaction was priceless as he intertwined their hands , pushing her through the fake stringed leaves that acted as door.

Flicking the light on, Kai felt like he was going to burst at her face , full of genuine awe at the room. Throwing some dust off, he gestured for her to sit down in one of the century old chairs .Vivianne was fascinated at the amount of books that hung on the walls and all the information it was storing.

"I decided to skip my other periods and wanted to explore the school , and in the midst of it I found this gem. I managed to siphon this powerful vampire girl I was dancing with at the ball " He chuckled remembering it." Well then darling why don't you tell me something about yourself "

Vivianne felt nervous but at ease with him? it was a feeling she couldn't describe , " well since i have two more free periods and form time left , I think i have some time " She starts, " Uh , well my life started promising at first. I was born in a small town , where everyone knows everyone and two loving parents ever " She reminisces " I had the best brother and sister someone could ask for and i was so happy. Then one night , Elena decided to sneak out to a party while i was at Care's house .When i went home , I found out my parents had , um , died in a crash getting Elena. I was so devastated .I stayed home for a month but the town grew toxic to me so I left , I came here to change my surroundings and fix myself up. After that , I got updates on the supernatural drama ,but I was never actually involved , until now of course "

Kai felt something he hadn't allowed himself to feel in ages , sympathy. His dark side was screaming at him to just stop this dribble of emotions and kill her but he fought against it. When she looked down and smiled , Kai knew that it was worth fighting , if he got to see that smile , he would go through anything.

im so sorry i havent updated in a while , i havent had much inspo on this book bc i feel like everyones ghost reading it :') and i was thinking of other story plots ;) ;).

i swear ill try and update more often since schools are out soon for summer anyways <3. I know that Kai normally would never act this way even if it was his soulmate to someone he just met but its somewhat different okay?? Its different Kai but the same , if that makes sense??

maybe ,in the future i'll re-write this book , giving it a more complex vibe then this but for now , stick to whatever this is :') :')

the same for kol !! my happy homocidal maniac isn't going to go lovey dovey immediately but would fall faster then kai , i think?? they are both complex characters that are hard for me to write , considering im bad at writing anyway.
