LUCIFER STOOD IN THE LINE ALONG WITH THE OTHER STUDENTS AND THE PACK AS THEY WAITED TO BE CALLED IN. "I can't believe you're making me take this stupid test with everything going on." She complained to Stiles. "I don't even need to take it."
"Where's Lydia?" Kira asked when she realised the strawberry blonde banshee was missing.
"She took it her freshman year." Stiles answered. "And you're here because Derek is with Braeden at the hospital and asked us to look after you and make sure nothing after what apparently happened last time β and since we have to be here, so do you."
"Braeden can look after herself." Lucy muttered underneath her breath grumpily, crossing her arms and leaning against the lockers. She didn't have an issue with Derek being with Braeden, she had an issue with being away from him after everything that was revealed to her. She didn't want to be apart in case something happened. "And mind you, so can I."
Malia's head snapped towards her boyfriend. "Does that mean I could have taken it some other time?"
"Malia, you studied harder than any of us." Scott reminded her.
"Doesn't mean I'm gonna do good." Malia made a face.
"Well..." Stiles corrected.
"Well, what?" Malia snapped.
"It's 'do well' not 'do good'." He corrected and Lucy smacked him upside the head.
"Not helping, idiot." She scolded as the same time as Malia thew her hands up.
"You're doing this, and so are you, because while we're trying not to die, we still need to live." Scott said to both Malia and Lucy. "If I survive high school, I'd like to go to college. A good college."
"Listen, Scott, I really feel for you β I do." Lucy began. "But if I wanted a pep-talk from you, I would've joined the lacrosse team."
Scott sighed at her, understanding that she was probably just acting out because she was apart from Derek and didn't respond to make matters worse.
"It's only three hours." Kira says while trying to stay positive. "We can survive three hours." She shrugged. The group could only give her a look knowing a lot could happen in three hours.
They were then called into the room, and given the equipment to prep for the exam, which included stamping a thumb print on the exam and grabbing the test and a pencil from the front desk.
Natalie Martin walked over with a yellow envelope asking them to put their phones in each one and that they would get it back after the exam. Natalie looked at Lucy who smiled, "Pass." She said using her manipulation to keep her phone on her.
If Derek called, she needed to answer. There was no way she was risking missing a call from him in case it was important and he needed her.
Natalie nodded and continued on as if she had put her phone in the envelope and then moved on to the next kid behind her.
Lucy sat down in her seat besides Stiles and looked at the front page of the test, while Stiles felt the need to open it up and look at it. "Please do not open the test booklet until you are instructed to do so." The exam monitor called out, causing Stiles to flinch and close the booklet immediately and place a pencil in his mouth to act naturally.
"This test is two hours and ten minutes." The conductor β who's name tag Lucy read as Simon β explained. "There will be two twenty five minute critical reading sections, two twenty five minute math sections and an essay writing portion that will last thirty minutes." He then looked at Natalie. "There are supposed to be two teachers monitoring this exam." He points out.
"I know. It's coach." She said. "He's not exactly punctual." She explained. She then excused herself to go and try to find him and try to get in contact with him.
She returned to the classroom to say that she couldn't get ahold of him β even when he was just passed out in his office β and offered to go get Mr. Yukimura from upstairs.
"We have to start. We can ask for his assistance during the first break." Simon told her, making her nod.
Simon pressed the timer on his watch and looked at the students. "You may now open your test booklets and begin." He announced and all the students in the room opened the test and began to read the questions and fill in the bubbles that they believed to be the correct answer.
After about twenty minutes of silence besides the sound of pencil on paper, pages flipping and Stiles' annoying foot tapping, one of the girls in the classroom fainted and fell to the ground unconscious.
"Sydney!" Natalie exclaimed and went by her side immediately to help her up. "Are you alright?" She asked as the girl opened her eyes and stood up.
"I'm okay. I just got kind of dizzy." She answered nervously, putting a piece of hair behind her ear.
Natalie noticed something on her wrist and got immediately concerned. "Sydney, how long have you had this?" She questioned, pointing to the bruise-like mark on her skin that was a raging purple and blue colour.
"I don't know." Sydney answered, her eyes going wide having never seen that mark before.
"Ms. Martin, do I need to stop the test?" Simon asked her.
"No, um, it's fine." Natalie said to him and Sydney went back to sitting onto her chair while holding onto her wrist to cover up the mark. Natalie went back up to the front of the classroom and looked at the students who were curiously looking and wondering what was going on. "Everyone stay in your seats. I'll, um, be back in a minute." She said and grabbed her phone before looking at Simon and saying, "Nobody leaves the room."
Everyone gave her a strange look before the rest of the class looked back at Sydney.
It was a few moments later that they then saw Natalie running past the classroom yelling at some students to stay away and to not come into the school, her tone filled with fear causing the students in the classroom to walk out into the hallway to see what was going on.
Natalie locked the door and looked back at the kids. "Back to your seats. Now. Please." She ordered while dialling a number on her phone.
As soon as they walked into the classroom, Scott closed the door behind him, and the rest of the pack listened in hearing Natalie call for the number of the Centre for Disease Control.
Scott looked at Lucy in shock while she just put her head in her hands feeling as if Kira had jinxed them all and they weren't going to be stuck there for only three hours now.
Within the hour, the people dressed in yellow hazmat suits came barging through the halls and completely quarantined the school, making sure no one came in or out.
Scott went to go talk to Sydney and Natalie who were in one of the quarantine rooms while everyone else sat around waiting for the next instructions. "They're thinking smallpox." Stiles said, running a hand through his hair.
"Not likely." Simon said from behind them, overhearing their conversation from his seat at the desk. "Smallpox was eradicated worldwide in 1979. We've only managed to completely eradicate two viruses in history."
"Yeah, rinderpest." Lucy pointed out. "It killed cows." She made a face.
"So we should be comforted by that, right?" Stiles asked sarcastically.
"Unless it's something worse." Simon voiced.
"Or it is rinderpest and you are a cow." Lucy flicked Stiles' nose.
Malia listened in to the commotion happening outside the school, "Whatever it is, they're taking it pretty seriously. There's a lot of cars and trucks out there." She then heard Stiles' dad's voice. "Your dad's with them."
Stiles got up from his spot and walked over to get his phone only for Simon to tell him not to bother as they would have shut off any access to all outside communication by that point. There was no cell service, no WiFi giving someone no chance someone could start a panic.
"Great." Lucy frowned, feeling her phone still in her pocket. How was she supposed to get in contact with Derek now?
Meanwhile, Melissa McCall was walking through the hospital and entered the room where Braeden and Derek were in. She walked passed the werewolf and walked over to the tubes that were connected to Braeden with a syringe in her hand.
"What is that?" He asked her, standing up as he watched her inject it to the IV.
"Naloxone. We need to wake her up." Melissa informed.
"I thought you said she needed to rest." Derek's eyebrows furrowed.
"That was before I found out the CDC just put the high school under quarantine with Scott, Lucy and Stiles still in there." The nurse stated, causing Derek's eyes to widen. Was it another attack? Would Lucy even be able to protect them?
Braeden then woke up with a gasp, sitting straight up. She tried to move around, gasping in pain from where she had been shot. Melissa calmed her down by explaining what had happened and the mercenary looked at Derek to confirm it, seeing him nod his head. "Last night you were in the woods and you came across another pack? Do you know what happened to them?"
"I told you, they were poisoned." Derek pointed out.
"No." Braeden spoke. "No, they were infected. It was a virus designed to kill werewolves. And it did. It killed them all."
Derek's heart dropped, someone was planning an attack on the school with everyone still there. He immediately pulled out his phone and tried to call his girlfriend, and growling in frustration when the phone didn't even ring and it went straight to voicemail. She always answered his phone calls.

"This isn't ideal at all." Lucy commented as she watched Scott's eyes flash between red and his normal brown colour as they stood in the locker room.
"I can't make them go back." Malia held up her hands to show her claws.
Lucifer felt hot with stress feeling hot flashes all over her body and walked over towards the bathroom sink and turned on the hot water, splashing it on her face to cool her down.
"Obviously the virus is affecting the two of you in a way it won't hit any human being." Kira's father said to Malia and Scott.
"You have to stay out of sight." Stiles said to them. "We have to quarantine you from the quarantine."
"But where?" Kira asked. "What if they get violent? Like on a full moon."
"We shouldn't stay in here. Not the locker room." Scott shook his head.
"A classroom is not going to hold us." Malia pointed out, and not to mention the amount of windows where people could see them.
"What about the basement?" Kira suggested.
"Too many ways out." Scott disagreed. "We need something secure. Somewhere nobody can find us."
"The vault." Stiles realised. "The Hale vault."
"The Hales always have an escape route. Like their house. There has to be another way in." Scott said.
Lucy groaned as she ripped the sides of the sink, cracking the marble slightly, looking up at herself to see herself shifting. "Well, we better find it fast." She said turning to look at them with fear. "Because I don't think it's just affecting them."
The group ran into Ken's office where he pulled out a blueprint of the school, they pointed to where the Hale vault was and that it went underneath the basement, they figured that there was probably an entrance to it somewhere in that same hallway.
Malia leaned onto Lucy's shoulder and tried to wipe the sweat off of her forehead while the devil tried to use something to stabilise the both of them before they fell.
Stiles went to reach for something and felt lightheaded, quickly stumbling but was caught by Ken. Ken grabbed onto Stiles' wrist seeing the rash that had appeared into his wrist. "It's happening to you too. You're all getting sick." He realised.
"I don't feel sick." Kira pointed out with wide eyes.
Ken sighed at his daughter. "I think it's affecting you differently, neurologically." He explained. He pulled out her test booklet. "I found your test answers here in a pile with the others." He said showing it to them to show that Kira missed every single bubble that was trying to shade in.
Before it got any worse, the decided that they needed to get to the basement before they were completely turned in front of the humans and in case they tried to attack them because of it β each of them completely drenched with sweat and completely pale.
As they for to the basement they started to look around looking for a symbol that could lead them to the basement.
Stiles spotted something behind a small trinket on a shelf and called them over there, they moved the shelf in front of it to show the same symbol that was on the Hale vault's safe and then a large triskelion shaped crack in the wall.
"Yeah, it's like the Hale vault where you have to get in using claws." Stiles pointed out. "Anyone's claws, right?" He asked the group, making eye contact with Scott and slyly looking at Malia until he understood what he was implying.
"Malia, can you try?" Scott asked the werecoyote.
"Why me?" She questioned bluntly.
"I don't have control." Scott answered, holding up his hand to show that he couldn't bring his claws out. "And Lucy's talons are too big." He lied, making Lucy rolled her eyes and throw her hands up in the air behind Malia at the fact that they still hadn't told her the truth about her family.
"Okay, I'll do it." Malia agreed. "But first, tell me what you've been hiding from me." The two boys in front of her froze and they looked at each other wondering what to say. "I know you think you're trying to protect me. But trust me, I can handle it."
Lucy made a face wondering how the girl would react when she finally found out that Peter was her father.
Finally, she said, "I know I'm on the list!" Making the boys and Kira look relieved, going with that as the excuse as to why they were freaking out and lying to her.
"Yes..." Stiles trailed.
"So, how much?" Malia suddenly asked.
"How much what?" Stiles asked back, wondering what she meant.
"How much am I worth?" She wanted to know.
"Four million." Scott answered.
Stiles then noticed the look on his girlfriend's face and took a step towards her. "Are you okay?" He asked her, worried.
"Yeah." She snapped out of it. "Scott's worth twenty five, Kira's six and Lucy's sixty. They'll try to take you guys out way before me."
"And there's the Malia we all know and love." Lucy rolled her eyes with a smile. "Can't argue with that logic."
Stiles raised his eyebrows at her reasoning. "Progress." He whispered, still defending that she was getting better.
Malia put her claws into the ridges of the symbol and turned it to the right a little bit before turning it to left and pushing it in. The concrete wall then moved back and slid across to the side slowly as it revealed the Hale vault and the pack immediately moved inside before it closed behind them.

It had been about an hour since they had walked into the vault, they were each bored out of their minds wondering how long they'd have to be down there until it was all over.
Malia was asleep on Stiles' lap when he looked over at his friends. "You know, this is where it all started. That's where the money was." He said pointing at the safe, his voice echoing throughout the vault. "A hundred and seventeen million in bearer bonds."
Kira picked up one of the things on the shelves and looked at it. "How do you even change bearer bonds into cash?" She asked.
"Banks." Lucy coughed.
"They just let the money sit here the whole time collecting dust." Stiles scowled. "You know bearer bonds are basically extinct?"
"Why does that matter?" Kira asked as she sat back down next to Scott.
"You know how many problems that money could solve?" Stiles pointed out, catching Lucifer's attention, frowning as she did not realise that everyone in the room was having money problems besides her.
Granted, she did see the notice in Noah's office from Eichen House but she didn't know that Noah wasn't able to pay it off.
"For you?" Kira asked again.
"Me. My dad." Stiles shrugged. "The Eichen House and the MRI bills are crushing him."
Scott rubbed his arm. "Mom does this thing, she writes down all of the items in our budget, and how much they cost, and then she adds them all up and figures out how long we have until... until we'd lose the house."
Lucifer could only lie there looking up at the ceiling with a frown, knowing that once this was all over, she was going to fix it all. She owed them that much.
Lucy spluttered a cough, holding onto her chest as she tried to sit up so she wouldn't choke. "How is this even affecting you? I thought you wouldn't be able to." Stiles fidgeted with his hands as he looked at his best friend.
"Things have been changing ever since I met Derek." Lucy answered as she plopped back down onto the ground. "I'm losing power over Hell because they believe that if I love Derek that I won't be a good ruler over them and all I want to do is go down there and prove them wrong β I want to show them that nothing has changed, but I can't, because I know it'll scare him. He doesn't want me to be like Kate or Jennifer β even though I'm a hundred times worse than both of them combined β and if I go and throw that all away, I'll lose him in the process."
"How is losing power over Hell making this much of an impact on you?" Scott was even more confused.
"Unfortunately, that isn't enough of a kick to the balls from my father; since I'm losing physical power everyday until it turns me human and I die, because it's draining itself into my soulmate bond with Derek to keep him alive longer until I turn him into one of us." She complained making Scott's and Stiles' eyes widened at the revelation.
"Wait, you're Derek's soulmate?" Stiles snapped. He just thought they were a fling, he didn't think that they would be connected.
"Yeah, only found out recently also." She confirmed and saluted the air. "Thanks, Gabriel."
"What do you mean 'turn him'?" Kira noticed.
"Derek has to be like me in order for him and our bond to stay alive. He's a mortal and I'm immortal. He'll die after sixty or so years while I'd live on forever and because soulmates aren't supposed to be apart, there's a chance that I'll go with him, but instead of going to Heaven or Hell β I'd just disintegrate into nothing." She said with distaste. "His body is preparing itself for the turn but I'm not even sure he's aware of what's actually happening and I don't want to be the person to take away what he loves about himself because I'm selfish."
"You're not being selfish because you want to live and be with him." Stiles pointed out.
Lucy rolled her head to look at her best friend. "Derek loves being a werewolf more than anything else β it's who he is. I haven't even had the chance to give him the proposal because of everything that's happened and I probably won't even get to before our time is up because I'm stuck here in this vault with a virus while he's taking care of Braeden unaware that he could die in a few days."
"We'll figure it out, Lucy, we always do." Stiles said optimistically. "You'll get out of here and get to speak to him about this and get to live forever with him like you should."
"Well, until then I'm stuck down here helplessly and I'm going to regret not saying anything to him sooner for the remainder of my shortened eternal life." She said rolling over into a ball angrily thinking how she shouldn't even be in this situation. All she wanted was to be with Derek.
She couldn't vanish and appear next to him like she should have, she tried it and it did nothing but make her feel faint. She tried to summon a demon to send a message to him but she couldn't bring anyone and to top it all off there was apparently no cell service according to the test supervisor.
She hadn't even had the energy to pull out her phone and check, she was scared of disappointing herself if she gave herself a glimmer of hope that it was working only to see that he was right. There was no point to her.
Stiles and Scott walked over to the vault wall and Scott tried to listen in. "Anything?" He asked.
"They're looking for us." Scott told him after he finally heard the conversations and voices he was looking for. "Someone is going to have to go out there."
They then looked around to see who was in the best shape to go out there, their eyes spotting Malia who was heavy breathing with Kira by her side. Scott looked at his friend and lowered his voice to a whisper, "We need to tell her the truth about Peter." He decided. "After everything Lucy just said about regretting not saying anything sooner, it's made me think. Malia's going to see the rest of the dead pool eventually and we'll regret not saying anything to her."
Stiles walked closer to his friend. "Try to remember that Peter is the one name missing on that list." He pointed out. "Which makes him incredibly lucky with the benefactor, she finds out about him she's doing to go to him, you know how she is. And then he's going to twist his way into her head like he does with everyone else."
Scott could only look at Stiles as he continued to rant. "Including us. We let him walk around like nothing ever happened, like he's one of the good guys... Scott, he's not one of the good guys."
"Stiles, neither is Lucy." Scott reminded him. "She's literally the devil and she's one of our closest friends. Do you talk about her the same way?"
"If Malia finds out about him, she's gone." Stiles continued to say stubbornly. "That's probably what he's waiting for and if he wins, we lose."
"We're already losing." Scott reminded him again, holding up his hand showing his fingernails bleeding from where his claws were struggling to budge through.
"I can't lose her." Stiles muttered. He then sighed realising that he would need to go out there to try and conceal the rest of the pack's whereabouts. "I'll go." He said and went to speak to Malia to let her know that he was going to be gone for a bit and he would be back for her before he left.
Another twenty minutes had passed and the pack was waiting for news from Stiles. Lucy watched around the room as it spun and faded between different levels of focus.
The werecoyote beside her curled up into a ball and tightened Stiles' jacket around her, hoping that it would bring her some more warmth as she placed her hands deeper into the pockets. Her eyebrows furrowing as she felt a piece of paper in one of them.
She pulled it out and slowly opened it up, catching Scott's attention, he stood up. "Malia!" He said warningly, knowing she would be able to see her name as Malia Hale instead of Tate.
Malia looked at it and then looked up. "I can't see." She said, her voice full of fear. "I can't see anything."
"Good thing is not just me then." Lucy spoke quietly as she was barely being able to see anything, only switching to her black eyes when necessary, making her vision focus.
Scott then looked at his hands seeing that his vision was also no longer focusing and he was slowly losing his sight also.
βββ ο½₯ qοΎβ: *.β½ .* :βοΎ. βββ
The sound of something cluttering made Lucifer sit up from her lying position. "What's happening to us?" She heard Malia pant.
"Scott? I can't..." Kira said as she tried to find her way around completely blind as well. "I can't see..."
Scott tried to pull himself up using one of the shelves. "Lucy, what do we do?" He panicked, not being able to see either.
"I don't know either!" Lucy began to freak as she tried to be able to see using her devil eyes but only seeing pitch black both ways. She then groaned and grabbed her head. "I can't see anything."
She reached her hand out onto the ground hoping to grab onto something, but feeling another person's hand who was shivering and shaking β from both the fear of dying and the fever. "Who's touching me!?" Malia panicked again, flinching away.
"It's just me." Lucy said and Malia relaxed, bringing her hand back and grabbing onto it as she brought herself closer to the devil as she felt her warmth, hoping it would warm her up. Lucy let Malia cuddle up to her, wrapping her arms protectively around her hoping that it would calm her down slightly. "We're gonna get out of this alive, okay? All of us."
All she could think about was how they probably weren't and she would never get to see Derek again, but Gabriel would be so proud of her optimism despite all else.
But she didn't want to be optimistic β she wanted Derek to tell her everything was going to be okay and that he would fix it.
"Death by a little virus, what a way to go, Lucifer." She scowled to herself, making Malia cling to her tighter.
"I don't want to die." Malia practically sobbed, causing the devil to comfortingly run a hand over her hair.
"We'll get out of this somehow. You lot are like cockroaches." She joked, trying to calm her heart rate down by taking deep breaths. "I've never seen a group of teenagers escape death so many times and I've only been here a year. You'll get out of this one just like all the other times."
"If we don't..." She heard Scott spoke from across the room, the fear in his voice was evident. "I just want to say that even though you might not think of us as friends, you've been one of the best ones to us and I'll never forget it." He said as he bit back tears, the realisation that he was going to die settling in. "
Lucifer bit her lip and smiled. "Scott, don't be stupid, of course I think of you guys as friends." She said, a tear rolling down her face as she had never felt so at home before until she met the pack and Derek. "I know I don't show it enough, but you all mean so much to me and I wouldn't have stuck around so long if I thought otherwise. You're family whether you like it or not."
Malia snuggled closer as Kira finally found her way towards Scott and grabbed onto him feeling their final moments.
They then heard footsteps come towards the wall and banging on it as Stiles yelled out, "Hey, Scott? Scotty?" The alpha went towards the wall, panting as he struggled to get himself there. "In the vault, in there with you. There's an antidote! It's called Reishi mushrooms!"
Scott could only gasp as he tried to respond. "Scott, open the door!" Stiles shouted. "It's in there with you. It's in a jar, it's on one of the shelves! Scott!" The banging continued as he tried to get their attention. "Scott, can you hear me?"
Stiles continued to hit the door and scream out as it stayed closed, he stopped and slid down, sobbing on the other side of the door as he was going to lose his friends and there wasn't any way for him to help.
"Reishi?" Kira recalled as she was on the ground. "Scott, I saw it. In a jar on one of the shelves." She whispered, losing strength.
"Can anyone see anything?" Lucy snapped lightly. "Anything at all?" Maybe if they had a little vision they'd be able to find it while she couldn't see anything at all.
Scott pulled himself up off of the ground and used the wall behind him to stabilise himself. He then took a deep breath and tried to shift his eyes, taking a moment before he opened them, his vision showing his girlfriend on the ground reaching out while staring into oblivion and Malia and Lucy holding onto each other for dear life as they looked around aimlessly also in a red haze.
His eyes then moved across the vault, spotting something that was glowing at him in a purple light. It had to be it.
He took a step, stumbling to the ground as he was losing strength and the world was turning and began to try and crawl his way other there as fast as he could.
The true alpha reached the shelves and reached up to try and grab the jar, his fingertips only just being able to touch it before he tried to push it closer towards him so he could grab it β only to use too much force and have it smash to the ground.
The particles of the reishi floated around in the air and made its way into each of their systems, making them gasp as they choked on it.
Lucy let go of Malia as she began to cough up black blood, her vision beginning to return as she got rid of the virus out of her system while the rest of them began to do the same.
It took a few moments before they were beginning to feel okay, Scott crawling slowly towards the wall and opening the door to the vault to see Stiles on the other side with blood splattered all over his face.
The boys hugged each other before Scott went over towards Kira and helped her and Lucy up. Stiles walked over to his girlfriend and tried to ask if she was okay before she silently pushed him off and walked out, leaving the dead pool with her real name behind.
