CY'S POV

Sitting in front of an old lovely couple and a hell of a handsome young man, I couldn't sit still. I was tapping my foot on the ground repeatedly in an attempt to calm myself down. My mother placed a hand on my thighs, indirectly telling me to calm down.

You expect me to calm down when you are marrying me off to someone I don't even know?

"You should eat more" Mom said, passing a plate full of cake to him.

Mom, but I wanted that!

He smiled at her, making his eyes disappear and his cheeks puffing up.

Oh dear god! If he keeps this up, I will not be there for the damn wedding!

"Chaeyoung made them" She added to which my father snickered and I squeezed his hand to make him stop teasing me. "Oh, I didn't know you can bake very well dear" His mother offered me a sweet smile similar to that of his'. I flashed a weak smile at her.

If only you knew. Mom's lying, you people. I don't even know where is the kitchen in this house!

"When did you come from US?" Dad started a conversation with his father.

I looked at him to only see him already staring at me. He seemed lowkey judging me. I took a moment to observe his features closely.

He had a very warm face with big honest eyes. He had a thick luscious full round lips. His features were almost symmetrical. He had a sharp jawline. He seemed to workout daily, seeing his well built muscular body fit in his black suit. He ran his hands through his blond hair making my jaw drop.

That was literally the hottest thing I've ever seen a guy had done

When I looked back at his eyes again, he smirked as he had caught me checking him out openly. But it soon changed into what seemed like disgust and angry.

What? I do that everytime I see a handsome guy.

"We should let them talk to each other" His father said, taking our attention to him. Others agreed with him and soon I found myself sitting face to face with this handsome devil.

Clenching his jaws, he seemed to intimidate me especially with the way he was looking at me now. He seemed like he had something against me.

What did I do?

There was an awkward silence between us. I didn't know how to act around him. I've not been around boys other than my two cousins.

I didn't even got a chance to go on a single date and here I'm getting ready to marry him!

"Chaeyoung?" He said my name unsurely. I nodded at him slightly before completely facing him. "Chaeyoung... " He started and I could feel goosebumps erupting in my skin.

Hearing him calling my name feels like I'm drowning into a deep water..

"I was in a serious relationship with a girl few years back" He spoke. He seemed very uncomfortable speaking up. I could read many emotions from his face.

Sadness, regret, happiness, hatred and so on...

"Even though it's in the past, I don't think I'm over it" He continued, masking a poker face. "I really don't know if I'm ready for this. My parents and others forced me to this arrangement"

I really didn't know what to say in this kind of situations.

He has some past girlfriend issue and what that got to do with me?

"It's nothing personal" He said, after lowering his tone a bit down. "I felt like you should know all this" I hummed in response before facing away from him.

I didn't know what else to do other than that. The awkwardness around us only seemed to increase multiple times.

"Do you have something to say, Chaeyoung?" He asked. Before I could even rethink my answer, I blurted it out.

"I didn't make those cakes"

Fuck! Kim Chaeyoung, you're dead!

He chuckled before speaking up. "So, then I don't have to struggle with eating this right?"

I nodded at him with a slight smile. I whistled audibly enough to summon my pet dog, Hank. "He likes to eat mom's cakes" I said, giving the cake pieces to Hank.

He seemed pretty excited seeing the dog. For the first time meeting him, I could easily read his emotions seeing him playing with my dog - pure bliss.

AUTHOR'S POV

"We should check on them" Mr. Kim said, walking towards them. The rest following him.

They were welcomed with a beautiful sight. Both of them were playing with a dog, petting it and giving it treats. Both of them had a perfect smile adorning their faces.

"It's decided then" Mrs. Park said cheerfully while hugging Mrs. Kim. "Welcome to the family" Mr. Park said, gesturing his hand for a handshake which Mr. Kim gladly accepted. "You too"

All the four of them had the same thought running around their minds. "Let the kids be happy forever"
