CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT ━━ joined up

They were going to make it seem like they had left, packing all their stuff so the prison looked empty, and attack them when they're off guard. And Merle was dead. He had helped them, taking out a few of the Governor's people. But the Governor killed him.

Josie and Glenn had cleaned their whole cell out, placing it in the car. But Carl wasn't happy, he was mad at his dad, and even Josie had tried to get through to him, but that wasn't enough.

Josie sat in the cell, holding the photograph Carl had gotten for her. She smiled down at it, running a hand over her face as she folded it up, placing it in her pocket as she stood up, letting out a deep breath. "You ready?" Josie turned to her cell door, seeing Riley and Maggie with all their stuff.

"Yeah, I'm ready." Josie smiled softly, standing up as she grabbed her last bag. "You girls ready?"

"Of course." Maggie nodded her head as the three walked out of cell block and outside. "Nice ring you got there, Josie." Maggie smirked as Josie looked down at her hand. "So, you Josephine Rhee now?"

Josie smiled, nodding her head as she looked at Maggie. "Yeah, I guess." Josie chuckled. "It's a bit strange not being classed as Josephine Walsh, but..." Josie shrugged her shoulders as she put her bags in the car. "It has a nice ring to it."

Both Greene's breathed out a laugh, smiling at Josie as they closed the trunk. It was now or never. They would kill the Governor.

Josie had all her gear on, and she was looking for the Governor. Only the Governor. She'd only kill him.

She kept her back against the cold concrete, squeezing her eyes shut as she heard bombs being fired into the guard towers.

She listened as the Governors people ran into the prison, only to run out a couple minutes later.

Josie cocked her gun, looking through the scope as she waited for the Governor to walk out.

She sucked in a breath as she saw him, placing her finger on the trigger as she fired, only for the bullet to hit his arm, making him cry out in pain as one of his men ran towards him.

Josie quickly cocked her gun, ducking behind the wooden panels as the Governor fired at her. She clenched her jaw as she turned back around, looking for the Governor. But too many people were in the way. She wouldn't kill anyone she didn't have to.

The governors people all ran to their cars, quickly getting in and turning around, driving away from the prison.

Josie cursed as she squeezed her eyes shut, lowering her head as she heard tiers screech against the mud and pavement.

Josie looked over the wood panel, seeing the Governor and his people drive away. She stood up as she looked down at Glenn. "We did it?" She yelled down to him, lifting the face shield as Glenn nodded her head.

"We did it." Glenn nodded his head as he spoke up to her. "Come down." He added as she nodded her head, grabbing her gun and walking towards the doors.

They were taking the fight back to Woodbury. Josie wanted to. She didn't want to kill innocent people there. She wanted to kill the Governor for everything he had done.

Josie wanted Tiffany to stay back, make sure she was safe. Tiffany had tried to put up a fight, but Josie needed her to stay.

But Glenn wanted to stay back, wanting Josie to, too. But Josie didn't want to. She wanted to go to Woodbury and end this.

So, Josie, Rick, Michonne and Daryl went, everyone else staying behind. Josie knew it was a risk, but she wanted her revenge.

Daryl pulled up to a stop, getting off of his bike as Josie looked out the window, frown on her face as she saw the cars that came to the prison.

Josie got out the car, holding onto her gun as she looked around. She pulled out her sword as she looked at the walkers. Daryl fired his arrow into one of the walkers, Josie throwing her sword over her shoulder before connecting her sword with the walkers head.

She kicked the walker to the floor as she pulled out her sword, wafting the blood off of it. She looked at the dead people with a frown. These were the Governor's people.

What happened?

Josie turned when she heard movement from one of the cars, seeing a woman in there. Josie whistled, signalling the three as she nodded her head in that direction.

Rick pointed his gun at the door as Daryl opened it, the woman holding her hands up in the air.

Daryl pulled her out of the car as she kept her hands raised. And that's when the woman told them everything, what the governor had done to his people.

How could he do that to his own people, just because they didn't want to kill other people? So, the woman, who Josie learned was called Karen, told them she would help them get to Woodbury. And she did.

Josie kept her gun raised as she crouched down behind the cars. Josie jumped as a gun was fired in her direction, making all four of them fire their guns at the wall.

They hid behind the cars as they fired at them, waiting for the gun fire to stop. "Tyreese! Roman!" Karen yelled as she stood up, holding up her hands. "It's me!" She yelled as Rick pulled her down. Josie's eyes widened as she looked at Rick. That had to be the people who came to the prison.

"Karen!" Tyreese yelled from the wall. "Karen, are you okay?" He yelled over to her as Karen stood up.

"I'm fine!" She yelled over to him as Josie watched her, her back pressed against the car.

"Where's the Governor?" Roman asked as he looked down at Karen.

"He fired on everyone." Karen told them, her hands still raised. "He killed them all!"

"Why are you with them?" Tyreese asked her as she looked down at the four.

"They saved me!" She yelled up to him, her hands trembling.

"We're coming out!" Rick yelled to Tyreese and Roman, Josie turning to him with wide eyes as Rick nodded his head. "We're coming out.

The four raised their hands as they moved from behind the car and towards the gate as it opened, Tyreese, Sasha and Roman walking out, their guns slightly raised.

They all walked towards each other, Rick standing in front of Tyreese. "What are you doing here?" Tyreese asked him, looking him up and down.

"We came to finish this, until we saw what the Governor did." Rick admitted to him, looking at Roman and Tyreese.

"He—he killed them?" Tyreese frowned, clearly confused.

"All of them." Josie spoke, nodding her head as she lowered her hands. "Karen told us Andrea hopped the wall, going for the prison." Josie continued, shaking her head. "She never made it." Josie said as she turned to Rick. "She might be here."

Tyreese shared a look with his sister and Roman, nodding his head. They made their way to where the Governor held her and Glenn captive.

Josie clenched her jaw as she looked around, ignoring the anger bubbling up in her veins. "This is where they kept Josie and Glenn." Rick spoke to the three as Josie ignored the eyes in her.

"The Governor held people here?" Tyreese asked, his eyes wide as he looked from Josie, then back to Rick.

"Did more than hold us." Josie breathed out, shaking her head as she held her gun in her hands.

The group moved through the paths, their weapons raised. Rick lead the way as they came across a room, blood underneath the door.

"Will you open it?" Michonne asked quietly, nodding over to the door as Rick nodded his head, placing his hand on the lock as Josie raised her gun, Daryl raising his crossbow.

Rick quickly opened the door, throwing it open as Josie looked at the man on the floor with wide eyes.

She then looked down at the floor, seeing a pair of feet. Andrea walked in first, dropping her katana to the ground as she looked down at Andrea, crouching down in front of her.

Josie walked in, her eyes wide as she looked at Andrea. Her and Andrea never saw eye to eye, but she didn't want to see her in harms way.

"I tried to stop him." Andrea swallowed thickly, looking at the group with half-lidded eyes.

Josie slowly crouched down beside her, Rick doing the same but in front of Andrea. "You're brining up." Michonne frowned as she held onto the blonde.

Andrea whimpered as she pulled her jacket down, Josie's eyes widening as she saw the bite on her shoulder.

Josie squeezed her eyes shut, as she held onto Andrea's other shoulder. "Judith...Carl." Andrea sat up as Josie shook her head, setting her back down. "The rest of them."

"Us." Rick told her, shaking her head. "The rest of us." Rick breathed out as he pointed at Andrea.

"Are they alive?" Andrea asked as Michonne ran a hand over Andrea's head, her lips trembling as she held the blonde.

"They're fine." Josie nodded her head, a sad smile on her lips as she looked down at Andrea. "All of them." Andrea sent her a smile.

Andrea then turned to Michonne, rubbing her hand. "It's good you found them." Andrea nodded her head with a smile. "No one can make it alone now."

Josie squeezed her eyes shut, trying to stop the tears from falling down her cheeks. But it was no use.

"I never could." Daryl added as he looked down at her.

"I just didn't want anyone to die." Andrea shook her head, her eyes brimmed with tears. She turned to Josie, looking at her hand with a smile. "That's beautiful." Andrea looked up at Josie, the girl letting out a breathy chuckle as she nodded her head. "Glenn's a good one."

"He is." Josie nodded her head, letting out a sniffle as she looked at Andrea. "I'm sorry." Josie's voice broke, lowering her head. Josie had been awful to Andrea. "I'm sorry for everything." She coughed out a sob, Andrea shaking her head.

"Don't be." Andrea shook her head, looking at Josie with a smile. "You need to take precautions in this world, to protect your own." She told Josie, who slowly nodded her head. "You're a good person, you always have been." Andrea told her as Josie wiped her eyes. Andrea then sat up, breathing out. "I can do it myself." She said.

"No." Michonne instantly said as she sat up, shaking her head.

"No, I have to." Andrea breathed out as she turned her head to look at Michonne. "While I still can." She nodded her head. "Please." She pleaded with Michonne. She then turned to Rick, a small smile on her lips. "I know how the safety works." She joked as Rick nodded his head, pulling out a gun.

He placed the gun in Andrea's hands, making the blonde look down sh his hand. "I'm staying with you." Michonne declared as she looked at Andrea.

Josie breathed out, looking at Andrea as she looked at everyone. "I tried." Andrea uttered.

"You did." Rick nodded his heads . "You did." Rick sighed as he stood up.

Josie pressed a kiss against Andrea's head, mumbling another sorry as she pulled away, giving Andrea one last glance before walking out with Daryl and Rick.

They closed the door behind them, and once they did, there was silence, before there was a shot.

Andrea was gone.

Josie got out of the car, looking at the school bus as Tyreese helped people out. Josie bit down on her tongue as she looked for Glenn, seeing him beside Tiffany as she made her way towers them.

Josie pullled him into a hug, wrapping her arms around his neck as she closed her eyes, letting out a deep breath as she looked up at him. "Andrea's dead." Josie uttered, a sad look in her eyes as Glenn sighed, pulling Josie back into a hug and pressing his lips against her forehead.

"Who are these?" Tiffany asked from beside them, looking at the people getting out of the school bus.

"People from Woodbury." Josie looked over her shoulder, keeping her arms around Glenn. "I'll explain it all later."

"Is the governor dead?" Tiffany then asked, making Josie shrug her shoulders.

"He wasn't there."

I had to add Jada, who is portrayed as Ella purrnel, because I absolutely love her in yellow jackets. And I'm more obsessed with her after fallout. So..

HSHEH.

I have things planned for Jada.

And Roman. HES MAGGIES LOVE INTEREST. Bc she deserves someone who doesn't die. :)

But I've almost written all of season four. I'm writing where the group is split after the prison attack.

And someone kills the Governor, someone you wouldn't expect....

But I hope you're liking this book so far <3

I have my first actual exam today.
10 hours of photography. Monday & Tuesday.

Then... I have art Thursday and Friday...10 hours..
