CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR โ”โ” soya milk

Jada stared down at the unconscious Glenn. The three, who Jada learned to be: Rosita, Eugene and Abraham, had offered to help them.

And Glenn was in no shape to accept or not, so Jada and Tara took it upon themselves to say yes, so Glenn would be okay.

Tara wrote down the signs as Abraham drove. Jada kept her eyes on Glenn, figuring the urge to wake him up by slapping him across the face, but, she decided not to.

Jada knew as soon as Glenn woke up, he'd want to find Josie, track her down. He wanted his wife, and Jada knew Josie was searching everywhere for Glenn.

Tiffany held a spoon in her hand, pouring the milk in the bowl as she tilted her spoon. Her and Michonne had found Rick and Carl. Now, they had to find everyone else.

Tiffany looked up from her bowl as Michonne walked in. Carl let out a small chuckle as he looked up at the woman. "What?" Michonne questioned as she looked down at Carl. "Do you have something to say about my extremely comfortable and attractive shirt?" Michonne asked sarcastically, smirk on her face.

"No, no, no." Carl chuckled, shaking his head. "It looks great." He then turned to Tiffany. "Doesn't it, Tiff?"

"Yeah, suits you." Tiffany hummed as she pointed her spoon at Michonne, grin on her face as Michonne chuckled at the pair before sitting down and pouring the cereal into her bowl.

"I wish we had some soy milk." Michonne said, sarcastically as she placed the cereal down.

"Seriously?" Carl raised a brow as he looked at the woman. Tiffany had to agree, she loved soy milk.

"Yes, seriously." Michonne nodded her head as she turned to Carl. "Have you ever tried it?"

"My best friend in third grade, he was allergic to dairy." Carl started as Michonne and Tiffany listened to him. "And every day he would bring this soy stuff to lunch. I tried it."

"And?"

"I threw up." He let out a laugh as Tiffany grinned, shaking her head as she shared a look with Michonne.

"Oh, yeah, right." Michonne smiled at the Grimes boy, shaking her head.

"All right, all right. I almost threw up." Carl corrected his original statement. "But, I was like, ugh." He mimicked a gip brow Tiffany raised her brow. "It was so gross." Carl shook his head. "And, it didn't help when Josie would stay over for the night and she'd bring a full carton of it." Carl added, a faint smile on his lips as he spoke about Josie. "She was obsessed with it." He let out a chuckle before he stopped himself, lowering his head.

Tiffany bit down on her tongue as Michonne one lowered her head. They didn't know where Josie was or if she was okay. And they didn't know here Judith was.

Tiffany knew Carl prayed Josie had found Judith, knowing the woman would do anything for her niece, and took her to safety.

"I'm gonna go finish my book." Carl suddenly said as he stood up, leaving Michonne and Tiffany at the table.

Tiffany looked up at Michonne, biting down on her lip as she breathed out. "You think Josie's okay?" Tiffany carefully asked, looking at Michonne.

"She's a tough son of a bitch." Michonne uttered as she looked over at Tiffany. "She would've made sure the others were safe. She would've made sure Judith was okay."

Tiffany nodded her head at Michonne's words, knowing Josie was out there. She had to be. Tiffany hoped she was. As did Carl, Michonne and Rick.

Jada's eyes followed the trees as the truck drove. She had lost track of time, and Glenn still hadn't woken up.

"How long have you known him?" Tara's curiosity broke Jada from her thoughts, lifting her head up from her arms and looking over to her. Jada frowned but understood as Tara signalled to Glenn.

"Uh, couple of months ago." Jada guessed, shrugging her shoulders. "Him and Josie went out on a supply run when they found me." Jada continued as Tara listened. "They brought me back to the prison." She shortly explained as Tara nodded her head.

"Josie sounds nice." Tara softly smiled as Jada nodded her head.

"Yeah, she is." Jada smiled as she thought of the woman. "Shes protected me and done more for me than my family ever did." Jada sadly said as Tara frowned.

The sound of moving gained the two girls attention, turning their heads to see Glenn look around, frantically. "Hey, don't move." Jada leaned forward, pressing her hand on his shoulder.

"Here's some water." Tara handed Jada the flask, opening it for her and passing it to her.

"Where are we?" Glenn mumbled as he went to sit up, looking around at the back of the truck where they sat.

"We don't know." Tara truthfully responded, shrugging her shoulders. "We were fighting biters and you passed out right after we left the prison. We didn't know what to do." Tara explained as Jada nodded her head.

"The back of the truck seemed safer than the side of the road." Jada added as Glenn sat up, turning to the two with wide eyes. He went to stand up, but Jada grabbed his arm. "Dude, you're okay."

"Did we pass the bus?" Glenn asked Jada, who slowly nodded her head. There was nothing but remains around that bus. "What did you see?"

"Walkers." Jada uttered, confused. She wasn't the smartest of the bunch, but she was smart, in her own way. "They were all dead."

"How long since we passed it?" Glenn asked her as Jada shrugged, making him turn to Tara.

"Three hours." Tara immediately knew, making Glenn close his eyes before tapping on the glass.

"Hey." Glenn called to the three inside the truck, slapping his hand again the see-through glass. "Hey, stop the truck."

Jada and Tara shared a look before they joined in with Glenn, slamming their hands against the window as they pleaded them to stop the truck.

But Abraham flashed them a finger, which boiled Glenn's blood. He turned and grabbed his gun, slamming the butt of the gun into the window. "Stop the truck!" He yelled as he slammed the gun back into the glass, only for it to crack.

The truck came to a sudden jolt as Jada held onto the sides of the truck, Tara doing the same as given dropped his gun. "Hey, be careful." Jada held Glenn's arm as he moved to the end of the truck, opening it.

Jada and Tara stood up as they followed Glenn, getting out of the truck. Glenn grabbed his bag as Jada did the same, throwing it over her shoulder.

"Where the hell are you going?" Abraham was the first to ask as Rosita and Eugene followed. "Where the hell is he going?" Abraham then asked the other two, Jada turning to him and opening her mouth to speak, but Tara placed a hand on her arm. "Hey, I don't know what your lady friends' told you about the special nature of the mission we're on, but this shit is time-sensitive and we're already way behind schedule." The red head explained as he stepped in front of Glenn. "So I need you to turn your ass around and get back in the truck."

"I gotta go." Glenn told him, a hard glare in his face as he stared at Abraham.

"It seems like neither one of you's been playing close enough attention to the hell on Earth we've been living in." Glenn went to live past Abraham, but the red head stood back in front of him as he spoke. "So let me tell you how to best avoid winding up just another dead-alive prick."

Jada frowned as she stared at Abraham, turning to Tara, who was also just as confused. "You find some strong, like-minded comrades and you stay stuck together like wet on water."

Jada declared Abraham made no sense. "We need people." Abraham continued as he looked at the three. "The more the better. We need each other, partner." He then pointed to Glenn's bag. "Even with all that gear on your shoulder, you won't last a night. Not by yourself."

"I'll take my chances." Glenn muttered as he went to walk past Abraham, but the man pressed his hand against Glenn's chest, using him back.

Jada gripped the gun in her waistband, waiting for Abraham to make his move. "I'm gonna have to insist that you hold the hell up." Abraham uttered as he kept his hand on Glenn's chest. "All right, believe it or not, the fate of the entire damn human race might depend on it."

Glenn slapped his hand away, looking up at the man with a frown. "What the hell are you talking about?" He then turned to Jada and Tara. "Who is this guy?"

"I'm Sergeant Abraham Ford." The red head introduced himself as he nodded over at Rosita. "And these are my companions, Rosita Espinosa and Dr. Eugene Porter." Glenn looked at the pair as Rosita sent him a sarcastic smile, as Eugene glanced off into the distance. "We're on a mission to get Eugene to Washington, DC. Eugene's a scientist and he knows exactly what caused this mess."

Jada called bullshit, but she lowered her head, not saying a damn thing. Glenn ran a hand through his head as he breathed out. "All right. So what happened?"

"It's classified." Eugene spoke as they tried to him. Jada raised a brow as she shared a look with Tara.

"He's been talking to the muckety-mucks in Washington on the satellite phone." Abraham explained, hands sat on his hood as he stared at Glenn. "The last couple weeks, nobody's been picking up on the other end. We saw how you handled those corpses back there. We could use your help." Abraham said, calmly.

"Sorry." Glenn shook his head as he held his bag strap before walking past Abraham, Tara and Jada quickly joining his side.

"We had to get us off that road." Tara explained as to why they agreed to help Abraham and his people. "You were passed out, we were out of bullets." Tara told him as Jada looked at Glenn. "I know how to get back to that bus. I wrote down every turn." She told Glenn as they continued to walk forwards. "I will get you both back if I can, okay?"

Glenn nodded his head as he turned to the two. "That's where she'd go to find me." Glenn spoke, talking about his wife, Josie. "That's where I'm gonna go."

"It's a waste of time." Abraham's voice carried from behind them, making Jada groan, looking over her shoulder. "Tara told us what went down. There is zero chance you will ever find your wife again. Alive or dead."

Jada's eyes narrowed as she shook her head, continuing to walk forwards. "Mainly because, sorry to tell you, she's gone." That ticked off Glenn as he slowed down, keeping his back facing Abraham. "No need for you to die, too." Jada looked over at Glenn, who stared at the floor. "Now come on. Get back in the truck. Do something with your life."

"He said no." Jada cleared her throat, giving Abraham a pointed look. But that man wasn't giving up.

"When the people we live kick...when they disappear." Abraham carefully spoke as Glenn dropped his bag to the floor. "Doesn't mean you've got to go out that way, too."

Glenn slowly nodded his head, turning around to face Abraham. Jada let out a gasp as Glenn's fist connected with the redheads jaw, the man falling to the ground.

"She's alive and I'm gonna find her." Glenn spoke down to the man, a confident look on his face. He was going to find his wife, whether it was the last thing he'd ever do.

Glenn turned back around as he grabbed his bag, Jada and Tara slowly turning around as they walked forwards. "You son of a bitch!"

Jada then saw Abraham tackle Glenn to the floor, leaving the three women to try and stop the cat fight between them.

Jada grabbed Abraham's arm, trying to pry him off of Glenn. "Dude! You weigh like a bag of bricks!" Jada panted as she gripped his arm.

But Abraham shoved Jada away, making her fall to the floor, Tara quickly grabbing her as Rosita pried the man off of Glenn. "You don't want this, Abraham." Rosita yelled to her partner as Tara helped Jada up, watching the fight with wide eyes.

But the man held his arm against Glenn's neck making Jada snap into action, running behind Abraham and pulling him into a headlock. "You sack of shit!" Jada cursed as she pulled on his neck. "Let go of him!" She panted heavily as she pulled against him, trying to get him off of Glenn. "Ginger prick!"

But their fighting match was quickly over as a gun was fired from behind them. Jada's arms fell limp to her side as she spun around, backing away from Abraham as she saw Eugene trying to shoot a gun at the walkers growing close. But he ended up shooting their truck.

"Eugene!" Abraham was up as quick as he fell, him and Rosita running towards their friend as Jada helped Glenn up.

The pair and Tara quickly ran towards the walkers, Jada pulling out her knife as she ran towards one of the walkers, kicking their feet and making it fall to the ground before stabbing it in the head.

The rest around her fired at the walkers, sending them to the ground, one by one as they fought against them.

Jada let out a breath as she lowered her hands, running a hand over her forehead as she turned to Glenn, who killed the last walker.

Abraham was quick to get under the truck, checking the damage Eugene had done as Jada moved to lean in the truck beside Rosita. "We were running a convoy in one of these." Abraham started as Jada rolled her eyes, looking over at Tara as she mocked the man, making Tara bite back a laugh. "Coming up a dune, there's this camel, looks like it's about to puke." He stated as Jada frowned. What was this man's point? "Probably because shitbirds packed about four pounds of C-4 up its ass." Jada grimaced at the thought. "We were within twenty feet of that blast. That sent that animal's hump half a click into the desert."ย  He said from under the truck. "And we drove home." He directed his next words at Eugene. "So you tell me how in the holy hellย  did you possibly kill this truck?" He asked Eugene as he got from underneath the truck.

"A fully amped-up state and an ignorance of rapid-firing weapons." Eugene explained as Jada raised a brow, turning to Rosita.

"Does he ever speak a word of English?" Jada uttered, narrowing an eye as she looked at Rosita, who shook her head. "Okey dokey." She muttered, nodding her head as she leaned off of the truck and towards Tara.

Rosita spun around as she noticed something on the floor, picking it up and having a look at it. It was a photograph of a woman. "Is this yours?" Rosita turned to Glenn, who frowned, turning to her and taking the photograph out of her hand.

He then walked over to Abraham, placing the gun down. "Sorry about your ride." Glenn said, his voice hinting no sarcasm, passing the gun back to Abraham. "Hope you guys make it to Washington." Glenn nodded at them as he walked past them.

Tara then passed Rosita her gun, following Glenn as Jada looked at the three. "Sorry for the headlock. I don't normally do that." Jada sent an awkward smile to Abraham, nodding her head as she followed Glenn and Tara, picking up her bag as they walked ahead.

But the other three decided to follow them, having no where else to go and no damn truck.
