𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍:
Newborns
THEY ARE CURRENTLY in the living room. They are getting restless about the mysterious disappearance and the rising death toll in Seattle.
"Police are baffled by the escalating murders and disappearances. Theories range from a vicious new gang to a wildly active serial killer Reporting live, Dawn Chubai. CNN."
Carlisle turns off the TV and says, "It's getting worse. We're going to do something about this"
"It takes more than one of our kind to cause the damage they're reporting," Genevieve says while looking at them.
"She's right-quite a few more.
And they're undisciplined, conspicuous." Jasper adds, and Genevieve sits between his legs and leans on his chest as she wraps his arms around her waist.
"It's newborns," Edward concludes.
"What, like newborn vampires?" Bella asks.
"No, Baby vampires that came out of your vajayjay," Genevieve smirks.
"Genevieve!" Esme scolds her. She just snorts in response.
"In the first few months after the change," Edward tells her, ignoring Genevieve.
"That's when we're at our most uncontrollable. Vicious. Insane with thirst," Jasper says sternly, and Genevieve knows his Major side wants to resurface because there is a possible threat to his mate.
"Something to look forward to," Emmet tells to Bella with a smirk.
"No one's trained these newborns, but this isn't random," Jasper says.
"Someone is creating an army," Genevieve tells them. Jasper nods. She turns her head to face him and smiles at him, and pecks his neck.
She knew the memories of his time in the Southern Vampire Wars were haunting him.
"Well, now we're definitely
going to Seattle," Emmett cheers and claps.
"An army of vampires?" Bella asks nervously.
"And they've been created to fight someone," Jasper adds.
"We're the only clan even close to Seattle," Genevieve says worriedly.
"Regardless of why
they were made. If we don't put a stop to them, the Volturi will. I'm surprised they've let it go on this long," Carlisle says.
"I'm quite surprised as well that this newborn army is a threat to expose our kind," Greyson tells them.
"Maybe they're behind it. In Italy, I read Aro's mind. He wants me and Alice, but he knows we'll never choose him as long as our family's still alive. An army could solve that for him," Edward announces to them.
"He wants us," Greyson and Genevieve tell them in unison. Their anxiety and fear are too much for the Empath, and he sends them a wave of calmness. He notes to himself that he needs to ask his mate about this.
"They offered us a position in the guards," Greyson tells them while looking at Genevieve with worry.
"We can't wait two weeks after graduation. You need to change me now-" Bella says, but Jasper cuts her off.
"You'd be a liability as a newborn. Unable to control your instincts. You'll be an easy target," Jasper says sternly.
"Bella, you also need to consider your father and mother. It will be terrible for them if you just suddenly disappear," Carlisle says to her, and Bella nods in defeat and holds Edwards's hand.
The family ends the meeting. Genevieve drags Jasper to their room and makes him sit on the bed, and looks at him with worry.
"I know this army is bringing back memories. Are you okay?" She asks, concern lacing in her voice as she holds his cheek in her hand while caressing it softly.
"I'm fine. As long as you're here by my side, I'll always be fine," he mutters she is still wasn't convinced, so she gets in the bed and patted the other side for Jasper to lay in.
Jasper removes his shoes and lays on his mate's side while Genevieve scoops him in her arms while his head is on her chest. She tangles his hair on her fingers, and Jasper's hold on her waist tightens, pulling her closer to him.
"I love you, darlin'. Thank you for this," he whispers.
"I'm here for you, my love. No need to thank me," she replies while kissing the top of his head.
IT WAS THE NEXT DAY,
Jasper and Genevieve are in the living room. Her head was in his lap while she read the Percy Jackson series while he played video games with Emmet. Rosalie sat beside them, reading at the latest news report about what was happening in Seattle.
They hear Edward's car arrive, and they both enter the house. She looks at Bella her arm was sprained.
Genevieve gets up and looks at them, and raises an eyebrow.
"Why is your arm sprained?" She asks her.
"Trying to walk and chew gum
at the same time again, Bella?" Emmett teases her.
"I punched a werewolf in the face," Bella states with a small smirk on her face.
"You got some gut on you, Bella,
I never knew," Greyson says to her, clearly amused.
"Badass. You're going to be one tough little newborn," Emmett says to her.
"Tough enough to take you on," she says, and Genevieve rolls her eyes and scoffs while Rosalie glares at her and slaps the newspaper on the table, and walks away.
"Don't worry about it," Emmett says and looks at her wife, who is now on the balcony.
"You can't blame her, Isabella. You're deciding on this too fast. At least make an effort to do normal human activities. Spend time with your father and your friends because when you become immortal, their time passes by, we stay the same age, and they get old and die. Don't take advantage of that," Genevieve tells her while leaning back to Jasper.
Jasper just holds her tightly, he feels her emotions, and he feels her pain. He didn't want to take the pain away from her, and he knew she wanted to feel it.
Bella just nods. There was a moment of awkward silence and a little bit of tension.
"Okay, any Leads?" Edward asks.
Jasper looks at him and shakes his head. "No sign of the intruder. But Victoria continues to make appearances."
"She's toying with us. Keeping us distracted," Carlisle says.
"From Seattle?" Emmett asks.
"Or the intruder. Or something else," Carlisle says.
"Alice can keep tracking her decisions, but we have to track her on the ground," Edward says. Bella getting tired of being ignored she went after Rosalie.
"We've already covered the entire southern peninsula down to Quinault," Jasper says.
"We'll search the northwestern trail," Edward says.
"It's Victoria. She's planning this, she wants her revenge, and she will do anything to get it. Also, the shadows told me she was planning this," Genevieve informs them.
They hear Rosalie talk to Bella.
"Go blather to someone else about the joys of becoming a newborn," Rosalie says.
"Okay. Rosalie, I don't understand what I did to make you hate me so much," Bella questions her.
"I don't hate you. I don't particularly like you, but. Bella, I envy you," They hear Rose say to Bella.
"What? That's ridiculous," Bella says.
"No, it's not. You have a choice. I didn't. None of us did. But you do, and you're choosing wrong. I don't care how miserable your human life is," Rose says, and Genevieve laughs lightly at this. She knows Rose was always straightforward.
"My life is not miserable. It's not perfect, but nobody's life is perfect," Bella says.
"Mine was, Absolutely perfect," Rose says.
"It was a long time ago, and maybe you're forgetting the bad," Bella reasons.
"I remember, and it was perfect. Till the end," Rose says.
Then all the vampires in the house knew what she would tell Bella. It was the story of her human life and how it ended. It wasn't a good ending. Carlisle was the one who saw her in that dark alleyway.
Rosalie told Genevieve her story when Rosalie overheard Genevieve tell Jasper hers. Since then, they have grown closer than before.
(You can look up Rosalie's story on the internet; I'm not putting it in here)
"I want to bring him back to life just to rip his head off," Emmett says.
"I'm going to talk to her," Genevieve tells Jasper, and he nods and kisses her cheek.
Genevieve walks towards the balcony where Rosalie was at.
"Hey, Rose," she greets her.
"I told her everything," She tells her.
"I heard," she says with a sad smile.
"I'm very proud of the woman you have become, Rose. You're not ashamed to tell your story, and that makes me extremely proud of you," She tells her and holds her hand.
"Don't get me wrong, I love this life because I had Emmett in it, and I'm thankful that I have family who cared so much, but-" she cut her off.
"But you wish to have this and be human. I know because I also want this with Jasper," she says and looks at her with a smile,
"-But this is our life now, Rose. We can't change that. What we can do is treasure every single moment we spend time together as a family and continue to live life," she continues.
"Thank you, Gen," Rose mutters to her and hugs her.
"What are sisters/ best friends for? We stick together," she tells her and laughs. She went back inside and saw Jasper and Emmett throwing insults at each other while playing video games.
She couldn't help but smile at the sight of the people she now calls family.
After all the struggles that she went through, she will gladly repeat it if that means she gets to have Jasper and her new family.
