𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐗:
Immortal Children

THE COUPLE DECIDED TO TAKE A BREAK FROM TRAVELING, so they went back to Forks because Genevieve missed Renesmee.

After Portsmouth, England, they traveled to Cork, Ireland; Bruges, Belgium; Athens, Greece. They are now planning to travel to Switzerland and Austria.

Genevieve and Jasper are currently sitting in the living room, arranging the photos that they plan to put in the albums.

Genevieve is looking at the picture, and when she notices that they are all photos of her and not the places they went to, she looks at Jasper and shakes her head.

"These are all photos of me," Genevieve says to him.

"You're the most beautiful sight my eyes have laid on. It deserves to be taken," Jasper answers her.

"You guys are too sweet," Greyson groans and sits beside Emmet, who is currently playing video games.

"And it's gross," Emmett adds, not glancing away from the screen.

"You and Rose are much worse," Genevieve says as she places a photo and writes the date on it.

"You can't argue with that, Emmett," Greyson says.

"At least we look cute," Emmett says while rolling his eyes.

"No," Genevieve, Greyson, and Jasper say in unison.

"You guys are mean," Emmett says.

"You're just annoyed because your wife is spending less time with you. Your niece stole her," Genevieve says in a teasing voice.

Emmett groans and says, "We haven't had sex in a week now. It's driving me crazy."

"You're such a baby," Jasper says.

"Easy for you to say. You and Genevieve do it every day," Emmett says.

"We never get tired. We might as well use it to our advantage," Genevieve says.

"Might as well beat you and Rose's record," Jasper says with a smirk.

"I thought we already beat it," Genevieve says to him.

"We did," Jasper says.

Emmett gasps and points fingers at them. "You did not."

"But we did," Jasper says with a smirk.

"Okay, gross, nobody wants to hear that," Greyson says.

"Don't act so innocent you and Alice weren't exactly quiet like last night," Genevieve says while sticking out her tongue.

"Where is she, by the way?" Genevieve asks.

"In the garden picking out flowers to replace the dead ones,"
Greyson answers.

"Bella and Renesmee?" She asks.

"With Jacob playing outside in the snow," Emmett answers her.

"He's never leaving her alone, is he?" She asks.

"Never. I think that's how the imprinting works on wolves," Greyson answers.

"Imprint and Mates never really had such a big difference," Genevieve tells them.

"Love, do you think I should buy our plane tickets to Switzerland and book a hotel?" Genevieve asks her mate.

"Sure thing, darlin'," Jasper says.

Then a perplexed Bella and a worried Jacob enter the living room with a sleeping Renesmee in Bella's arms.

"What's wrong?" Edward asks while walking down the stairs.

"We saw Irina, but when she saw us, she ran away. I didn't get to talk to her," Bella answers as she places Renesmee on the sofa.

"I'll call the Denali's just in case," Carlisle answers as he glances up at them from his paperwork and stands up, and goes outside.

Genevieve is feeling uneasy about the interaction. She feels like something is going to happen and something bad. Jasper felt her uneasiness and swept her to him and placed her on his lap and placed his chin on her shoulder, and places a kiss on her bare shoulder.

Carlisle goes back and says, "Tanya convinced Irina to reconcile with us."

"I guess she changed her mind," Edward mumbles.

"I wish I could've talked to her," Bella tells them with a sigh as she helps Renesmee sit up.

"Seeing Jacob must've been too much for her," Genevieve says while looking at Jasper.

"She's family. She'll come around," Carlisle reassures his family.

Then it was peaceful, but there was an inkling that was bothering Genevieve, but she shrugged it off. She takes a book from her room and sits on Jasper's lap, leaning into his chest while his arms instinctively wrap around her waist, and they read together in silence.

Emmett and Greyson just played in their Ps4, both boys getting competitive with one another every second; Carlisle decided to take a break from his paperwork and asked Esme to play chess with him.

Edward and Renesmee played the piano while Bella watched at the side; Rosalie was scanning some magazine already planning to go on shopping this weekend.

Alice, as usual, was on her joyous state, she was holding a vase that she filled in with fresh flowers that she picked from the garden.

She suddenly gasps and drops the vase, and her eyes are glazed. She is having a vision, and Greyson is instantly at her side.

Genevieve is having a headache. Her head was pounding painfully, the shadows wanted to tell her something, and it was urgent.

They didn't really bother her that much; nonetheless made her head pound. She groans in pain and holds her head.

Jasper looks at her in concern and cradles her in his lap, and kisses the side of her head while whispering sweet things to her and using his gift to help her.

"What did you see, Alice?" Greyson asks his mate, concern lacing in his voice.

"The Volturi, they're coming for us. Aro, Caius, Marcus, the guards, and Irina," Alice explains her vision while the shadows warn Genevieve to run and escape.

"What did Irina see in the woods?" Edward asks, looking between Bella and Jacob.

"We were just walking," Bella states quickly.

"Ness was catching snowflakes," Jacob adds.

It clicked to Genevieve. It was the first thought that came into her mind when they received the news that Bella was pregnant.

"Irina thinks that Renesmee's an immortal child," Genevieve tells them.

"Immortal child?" Bella asks, looking at Genevieve and Edward expecting an answer.

Carlisle sighs and looks at Genevieve whether or not he or she will explain. Genevieve nods at him.

"The immortal children were very beautiful, so enchanting. To be near them was to love them. But their development was frozen at the age they were turned. They couldn't be taught or restrained. A single tantrum could destroy an entire village. Humans heard about the devastation, stories spread, the Volturi were forced to intervene, and since the children couldn't protect our secret, they had to be destroyed. The creators grew very attached and fought to protect them. Long-established covens were torn apart, and countless humans were slaughtered. Traditions, friends, even families, lost," Carlisle explains while looking at Bella, who is now learning about immortal children for the first time.

"So the Denali's mother made an immortal child?" Bella asks, and Carlisle nods.

"Yes. And she paid the price," Carlisle tells her.

"Irina, Kate, and Tanya were only spared because they had no knowledge of their mother making one," Genevieve adds.

"Well, Renesmee is nothing like those children. She was born, not bitten. She grows every single day," Bella quickly defends.

"So, can't you just explain that to the Volturi?" Jacob asked, his arms crossed over his chest, and Genevieve scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Aro has enough proof in Irina's thoughts," Edward says, shaking his head.

"So we fight," Jacob says.

"Good luck with that doggie, a pack vs. the guards is a big no," Genevieve says to him.

"Their offensive weapons are too powerful. No one could stand against Jane," Jasper said while tightening his hold on Genevieve's waist.

"Alec's even worse," Alice adds with a frown.

"She's right. The witch twins are the most dangerous duo in the Volturi. Together they're unstoppable," Genevieve says while looking at Alice, who moves her eyes quickly to the forest as if sending a message.

Genevieve immediately blocks her thoughts from Edward, already thinking of a plan on how to deal with the Volturi.

"Well, then we convince them," Bella states.

"They're coming to kill us, not to talk," Emmett answers.

"If the Volturi is coming for us, they will do more than talk," Greyson says while smoothing Alice's shoulders.

"No. You're right. They won't listen to us. But maybe others can convince them. Carlisle, we have friends all around the world," Edward starts, and Carlisle shakes his head.

"I won't ask them to fight."

"Not fight, witness. If enough people knew the truth, maybe we can convince the Volturi to listen," Edward explains.

"We can ask this of our friends," Esme says to her husband, and he just nods at her.

"Well, I'm going to change my clothes and hunt with Alice," Genevieve announces while standing up from her place and looking at Jasper, who just nods.

She quickly speeds to their room, packing her clothes and looking at Jasper's journal for useful information.

She wrote a note and placed it on a book, hiding it under the pillow on the bed, and ran to the forest to meet Alice.

She sees Alice holding a bag with her, her face full of worry.

"I know you saw something else," Genevieve starts.

"I did. They sent a spy. You made a contract with the Volturi that you'll be on their side if any fight happens. They'll take the opportunity when you're alone," Alice tells her.

"Are you sure about this? Can't we take Jasper? Or Greyson?" Genevieve asks. She didn't want to be apart from Jasper.

"No, they're needed here. Jasper can train them, and Greyson can keep the peace in the family," Alice says.

They crossed the borders to the Quileute lands. She sees Sam's wolf with a Grey and Brown one beside him.

"We didn't come here to fight or break the treaty, we want your permission to enter your land," Genevieve starts, and Sam went to a nearby tree and shifts back to human form.

"What for?" Sam asks.

"We need to head South-can you give them this? We don't have time for goodbyes," Alice said while handing a note.

Sam looks hesitant but agrees anyway, then Genevieve and Alice are gone in a heartbeat, so Sam mind linked the others to go home and made his way to the Cullens.

JASPER IS WAITING PATIENTLY on the balcony that faces the forest, and he is getting annoyed that Genevieve has been gone since last night.

Carlisle calls his family to go outside. Jasper sees Sam walking towards them with a piece of paper with him.

"Alice and Genevieve asked me to give you that. They crossed our lands to the ocean last night," Sam states. The Cullen family stood on the porch, Jasper was confused, and he wished what he thought wasn't true.

Sam gives Carlisle the paper, Esme rubs his shoulder in comfort, and Jasper watches as Carlisle reads over the note and looks between Jasper and Greyson.

"Carlisle," Esme says with worry.

"They left us," Carlisle informs them, and with that sentence, Jasper's heart crumples; Genevieve leaves him without a goodbye. He runs his hand to his honey-blonde hair and lets out a strangled noise.

The family looks at the two with worry. They didn't know how to comfort them.

"Why?" Rosalie asks, and Jasper snaps out of his thoughts.

"They didn't say," Carlisle responds.

"Can I see that?" Bella asks, and Carlisle nods his head and gives the paper to her.

Jasper and Greyson walk towards her and peak at Bella's shoulder to read the note, 'Gather as many witnesses as you can before the snow sticks to the ground. That's when they'll come.'

Jasper storms out and went to their room, and he is immediately engulfed with Genevieve's scent, which makes him want to cry. Instead, he went in a rage, throwing everything in his way, a sentence repeating on his head.

She left him.
