"There is no way we can tell Scott, about me" I announced as the three of us marched down the hall, in search of Scott, hoping he could help us with the Gwen situation.
"What?" Liam stopped walking which causes Mason to run into the back of him, "Why wouldn't we tell your brother that you have the potential of being erased from our lives!" Liam was raising his voice which was making me nervous that someone might hear us.
I let out a sigh as I grabbed his and Mason's arms, pulling them to the side of the hall, "We cant tell him," I said quietly, looking around briefly to make sure no one was listening, "Because he has to focus on finding Stiles. He's getting close and we don't need him worrying about me."
"So are you ever going to tell him?" Mason asked.
"You guys can tell him he had a little sister when I'm gone-if you even remember me." I offered as I began walking down the hall again.
"Sydney, that's not even funny." Liam chastised as he and Mason followed after me.
"Kinda." I mumbled.
The boys fell back into step with me as we made our way down the hall. As we neared mine and Liam's lockers, I saw Scott leaning against the wall, presumably waiting for us.
"Remember what I said." I reminded the boys as we got closer to Scott.
"Hey." I greeted, my brother with a smile, hoping I didn't give him any signs that something was wrong.
"Hey guys." Scott smiled as he pushed himself off the wall.
"We have small problem." Liam announced, which causes me to spin around in terror. Liam gave me a reassuring look as he continued, "We found another person who saw the Ghost Riders. Her names is Gwen and her sister was taken."
I felt myself relax when I realized Liam wasn't giving away my secret.
"Okay, so what are you guys going to do about it?" Scott asked, finally allowing us youngins to figure out a problem on our own without the help of the older kids.
"We're going to keep her safe." I confirmed. We still weren't sure how but I knew we would figure it out. "Where are you on the whole Stiles thing?" I asked, instantly changing the topic.
"Well, we went to see his so-called parents," I felt myself shudder at the mention of Stiles's parents, plural not singular, "And Sheriff mentioned something about his father. I think he's our only lead."
"So you're going to talk to him." I confirmed, very well knowing my brother's plan.
"Yeah after school. The girls and I will try and get some information out of him. Hopefully he can help us." Scott replied, giving me a hopeful smile.
"Okay, but what about Gwen?" Liam asked, nervously bouncing on his feet. I could tell his nerves were due to more then just Gwen. He hated that he was lying to Scott about me, I could tell it was killing him.
"Figure it out." Scott shrugged, as he turned and began walking down the hall.
"I'll meet you guys in the library in 10 minutes." Liam said as he ran off after my brother, in hopes of getting some much needed help.
I looked to Mason who was giving me an amused smile, "Scott isn't going to tell him what to do, is he?"
I shook my head with a laugh, "Absolutely not."
---
15 minutes later, Mason, Liam, Corey and I sat at one of the tables in the library, trying to figure out what to do with Gwen. As I suspected, Scott had told Liam to figure out what to do on his own. And let's just say none of us were coming up with any great plans.
"Until we find a safe place for Gwen, we need to know her location at all times." Liam advised, all of our eyes looking up towards Gwen who was on the upper level of the library speaking to someone.
"Okay, that's great while we're at school, but what happens after that? She could go anywhere." Mason asked, pointing out the flaw in Liam's plan.
"Sydney could ask her." Corey suggested.
"What if we don't have to," I began, pulling up the text I had received earlier, "I know where she'll be tonight...Nathan's party."
The boys looked at me, waiting for me to elaborate on how I knew she was actually going to be at the party.
"She's been asking everyone and their mothers about Phoebe, the party is the perfect place for her to see if she can get any more answers." I explained.
"We can't keep he safe at Nathan's. We need a place where supernaturals can't get in." Liam pointed out.
"I know a place." Mason announced, a smile forming on his face, "The safest place."
I began smiling as well until I noticed everyone was starring at me, and then I clued in as to where this 'safe place' was.
"Oh no."
---
"This is such a bad idea. If my mom finds out I'm dead! Do you hear that Liam, dead!" I yelled over the music that was blaring through my house as sweaty, drunk teens threw their bodies around in ways that I did not care to witness.
"Yeah, well if the Ghost Riders find you you're really dead." he argued, not turning back to look at me as he dragged me through the crowd.
"Wow, that took a turn." I mumbled, my eyes trailing around the party, ensuring nothing had been broken yet.
"Not there!" Liam yelled, as he rushed to grabbed a glass that had just been placed on one of our end tables without a coaster. He let out a grunt as the front door flew open, hitting the wall and sending a picture of my mom, Scott and I towards the ground. Luckily Liam caught it before it hit the ground, right before he was slammed against the wall by none other than a pissed off Nathan Pierce.
"You stole my party!" Nathan spat, his arm across Liam's chest, pressing him into the wall, "Are you going to steal lacrosse captain too?"
"I didn't think you'd mind." Liam wheezed.
"Come on Nathan, let him go." I ordered, attempting to pry the large boy off of my boyfriend.
"Stay out of this McCall." he muttered, pushing me away from the two of them.
"How'd you think I'd take it?" he asked Liam, referring to Liam's earlier statement about Nathan not minding.
"In hundreds." I spun around to see Mason holding several hundred dollar bills in his hand, causing my eyes to go wide.
"Wh-" I was cut off by Nathan shoving past me to take the money from Mason with a cheer of triumph.
"I'm starting to think this wasn't such a good idea." Liam panted as he looked around at the scene in front of him.
"Oh really?" I asked sarcastically, folding my arms over my chest.
Liam sent me a glare, he hated when I was actually right.
"Scott told us to do whatever it takes to keep Gwen safe." Mason pointed out, trying to ease Liam's nerves.
"Well what if Melissa shows up? She already doesn't like me." Liam asked nervously.
"I told you Liam, I die. I will be dead, gone, cease to exist. She will murder me."
"She has the night shift," Mason reassured as he rehung the picture frame, totally ignoring my comments, "she won't be home until at least 4am and we'll have this place cleaned up long before then."
"How do you know my mother's work schedule?" I wondered as I watched the frame fall crookedly when Mason let go..
"Scott told us to protect Gwen," Mason said ignoring me, once again, and walking over towards the door, "and what better way to protect her, and Syd" he added, finally acknowledging my existence, "than in a house lined with mountain ash?" he finished as he spread a thick line of mountain ash across the doorway, "It's a good plan."
I shook my head as I began towards the staircase. "Where are you going?" Liam asked, grabbing a hold of my hand.
"Liam, I hate parties. Can I please just go up to my room to cool off and get away from the noise for like 5 minutes?" I pleaded, pulling my hand from his.
"I'm not letting you go alone." he argued.
"Liam, I'll be okay I promise, just stay down here with Gwen, okay?"
Liam sighed as he gave me a small nod, "Just call me if you need me."
"I will." I smiled as I gave him a quick peck on the cheek before rushing up the stairs to the safety and quiet of my bedroom.
I let out a sigh of relief as I opened the door to reveal my room was empty of any couple and all my stuff was untampered with.
A grunt escaped my lips as I flopped onto my bed, closing my eyes for a moment as fatigue overcame my body. They opened again when a loud clap of thunder and lighting almost shook the house. I sat up in a hurry and looked around my room as the lights began to flicker.
"Oh no." I whispered to myself as I shot out of bed and onto my feet, just in time to see one of the Ghost Riders standing by my window. I let out an ear piercing scream as I rushed towards my door, struggling to get the door open. The deep breathing of the Ghost Rider behind me was all that I could hear.
When I finally got the door open, I went flying down the stairs, screaming for Liam the entire way. He was already at the bottom of the stairs when I reached the final step.'
"Syd, what's wrong?" he demanded, pulling me towards him.
"I saw him- he was in my room!" I screamed, turning to look back up the stairs, which were empty.
"Where's Gwen?" Corey asked, looking around for the other girl in danger.
"Over there!" Mason called, pointing across the room to where Gwen was.
"Go get her, bring her over here!" Liam ordered, as he wrapped his arms securely around me.
"How did it get in." I whispered, my voice cracking in fear.
I turned once again to look up at the staircase, but this time I was met with the sight of the Ghost Rider making it's way toward us, a flurry of leaves and wind surrounding it.
"He's coming!" I screamed, "He's right there! Do you see him?"
Gwen, who was now beside me let out a scream as well, "I see him, he's coming!"
Liam looked at us in fear, he couldn't see it, which meant he couldn't do anything to help us.
Gwen took off running towards the kitchen and I followed after her.
"Liam," Corey yelled, "It's a Ghost Rider!"
"Where?" Liam demanded, his eyes scanning the room.
"Headed for the kitchen." Corey replied. What happened next caused my heart to drop in utter shock. Corey, while invisible must have grabbed a hold of the Ghost Rider, which in result made him visible to everyone else in the room.
Screams of terror filled my house as everyone got their first look at the supernatural creature. Chaos ensued as everyone began pushing to get out.
"Everyone out now!" Corey yelled, which caused even more chaos. Screams ripped through the air as everyone pushed through the front door in attempts to get away from the Ghost Rider.
Gwen and I stood in the kitchen and watched in terror as the Ghost Rider seemed to ignore everyone but us. Mason rushed into action as he grabbed the jar of mountain ash, pouring a line in front of the Ghost Rider so it could't advance any further.
The Ghost Rider put his hand out, pushing against the supernatural forcefield, attempting to cross the barrier.
Much to my horror, he began chipping away at the barrier with his whip, each hit breaking it down more.
"We can't let him get through!" Liam yelled from the other side. With that, he picked up a lamp and fired it towards the Ghost Rider's head, which only made him more mad. I let out a small whimpered as he threw Liam towards the wall, doing the same to Corey who tried to stop him next.
"Guys, he's breaking through!" Mason called.
Both Liam and Corey grabbed a hold of the Ghost Rider's arm, attempting to pull him away from the rest of us. Their efforts proved useless as they were sent flying to the floor with loud thuds. The Ghost Rider continued hitting at the barrier, and it was only a few hits away from breaking.
"He's going to get in!" I cried, I had never faced fear like this before.
"Okay, we're leaving right now!" Mason called, grabbing a hold of Gwen and I. The three of us had just made it out the door when both Gwen and I stopped.
"Wait!" I screamed, causing Mason to stop beside us.
"Going back inside?" he asked quietly.
"Yes." I whispered, my eyes locked on the Ghost Rider in front of us, "Right now."
We took off back into the house, and back into the kitchen. Looking back, I wish we hadn't of. Just as we got close to the barrier, it finally broke sending me flying backwards, landing on my back. I let out a shriek of terror as the Ghost Rider's whip wrapped around my leg.
"Liam!" I screamed, struggling to break my leg free.
"Let her go!" Liam yelled as he, Mason and Corey attempted to break me free. But it was no use, the grip on my leg was too tight and with each pull I got closer and closer to the ghost Rider.
I did everything I could to pull my leg from his grasp but nothing I did was working. I felt like I couldn't breathe as tears blurred my vision, my head pounding as I struggled to keep my eyes open.
"Liam, I love you!" I yelled, tears streaming down my face.
"No!" he screamed, "Let her go! Keep trying Sydney!" There were tears in his eyes too, something I didn't see very often.
"Just remember." I whispered.
And then I everything went black and I ceased to exist.
sorry? ;)
