"I can't tell where it's coming from!" Liam exclaimed, as him Mason and I rejoined in the hallway. We had decided it was best to split up to try and figure out where the blood was coming from, I mean sure Mason and I couldn't smell it like Liam could, but we could certainly see it.

"It's like it's coming from everywhere." Liam observed.

"How is that possible?" Mason questioned.

"Maybe it's coming from more than one place." I offered, "Or more than one piece."

"What if it's in the air," Mason suggested, "It could be coming out of the vents."

It was at this moment that all three of us looked up at the vents that were hanging over our heads, blowing air directly at us.

"The boiler room." I announced when I realized where we would have to go to determine whether Mason was correct or not.

"Let's go." Liam nodded, which sent the 3 of us into a full on sprint down the hallway and towards the boiler room of our school.

After running halfway across the school, we reached the boiler room, "Stand back." Liam ordered, as he backed up, preparing to take a run at the door in attempts to break it down.

Just as he began running towards it Mason reached down ans turned the handle, revealing the door was unlocked. Obviously he pulled it open, but it was too late for Liam to stop running as he went flying into the room, landing with a thud.

"It's open." Mason said obviously as Liam groaned from inside the dim room.

"Yeah." I whispered, cringing in embarrassment that this was the boy who believed he could be alpha in a few short months. Shaking my head one last time, I entered the room to find Liam laying on his back, a pile of buckets and tools littered around him.

"Why didn't you guys tell me the door was open?" he groaned, as Mason and I pulled him up from the concrete floor.

"You didn't give us a chance." I explained with a slight shrug.

"Horrible friends." he muttered as we started to walk through the long hallways of the boiler room, Liam leading the way.

We were about halfway in when Liam stopped at a door which had the letters HVAC written across it.

"HVAC?" I whispered in confusion.

"Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning." Mason answered, of course he knew what it meant.

Liam looked back at us, a timid look on his face as he reached out and gripped the door handle. My breath caught in my throat as he slowly turned it, eventually pulling the door open to reveal a man, his eyes shut, skin pale and skull bloody, he was dead.

It was now that the smell finally hit me, "Oh my God." I whispered, bringing my arm up to shield my nose from the smell, "What the hell happened?"

Liam bent down to get a closer look and I almost yelled at him to not get too close, afraid that maybe this guy wasn't actually dead.

"It looks like something took a bite out of his skull." Yeah, he's dead.

"We need to call Sheriff." I announced, pulling out my phone and dialing the police station.

After I hung up the phone, the three of us got out of there immediately. Rushing out into the hallway I took a breath of fresh air.

"We should go to the main office, we'll have to talk to the police." Mason suggested.

I let out a shaky breath, "Yeah, good idea."

"Are you alright?" Liam whispered as him and I trailed behind Mason.

"I'm fine." I lied.

"It's a dead body, you've seen like 50 of them." he continued, knowing I wasn't actually fine.

"Yeah, but he was dead Liam, like really dead."

Liam quirked an eyebrow. "As opposed to fake dead?"

I let out a sigh, "Liam please just-"

"Syd! Liam! Mason! Thank God you're here, I need you to listen to me. Alex is gone, they took him. I need you guys to stick with Scott or me because I can see them okay?"

I looked at the boy in front of me who was rambling on, out of breath. As I looked at him, I felt a pang in my chest, I felt like I should know him...but I didn't.

"Why the hell are you looking at me like that?" he demanded.

Liam looked over at me in confusion, I just shook my head, I had no clue who this kid was either.

"Do you go to this school?" Mason was the one to break it to the mystery kid that we didn't know who he was.

"What's your name?" Liam asked, maybe if we knew what his name was we could figure out if we knew him or not.

The kid looked as if he was about to pass out as he stared back at the group of us. Suddenly his eyes locked on something behind us and he pushed through Liam and I, running towards Sheriff Stilinski.

"Who in the hell was that?" Liam questioned, as we turned away from the scene behind us.

"I have no idea, but I feel like I know him." I whispered, taking one last glance at the boy who was now talking to the Sheriff.

Liam gave me a concern look as he turned to Mason, "Can you talk to the police, I need to get Sydney home before Scott kills me."

"Yeah, no problem. I'll see you guys tomorrow." Mason said with a wave.

Liam took my hand and led me out to the parking lot, as he unlocked his car I slid into the passenger seat.

"Are you sure you're okay?" he asked me as he started the car. I looked over at him in confusion, "I'm not freaked out about the body anymore." I assured.

"I'm not talking about the body." I watched the school grow smaller and smaller as we drove away, "You were acting really weird about that kid."

"I just thought he looked familiar that's all." I explained once again, when Liam gave me a suspicious look I threw my head back in frustration, "Liam, he is not my ex lover or something, I swear I didn't know who he was okay? He probably just reminds me of some celebrity or something."

Liam finally tore his gaze away from me, giving a slight nod, "Okay. I'm sorry." he apologized as we pulled into my driveway, the house was dark and neither my mom or Scott's vehicles were in the driveway. "Want me to come in?" he asked, knowing I hated being home alone.

"No," I gave him a warm smile, "I'll be okay. I'm sure Scott will be home soon."

I grabbed my bag and hopped out of his car. "Syd?" he called, causing me to turn around, "I love you."

I smiled, "I love you too."

I stood by the front door as I watched his car pull out of the driveway and down the street. Locking the door, I threw my bag down by the couch and mounted the stairs to my bathroom. I started the shower and let it warm up, taking off the little makeup I had on. Once the water was hot enough I jumped in and let it wash away the day.

As I scrubbed my head with shampoo, I couldn't help but think of the boy from the school. I didn't know him but I felt like there was some kind of connection between us, I mean he called me Syd, barely anyone calls me Syd.

Even as I dried myself off, gotten my pajamas on and brushed my teeth I still couldn't figure out who he was. Scott had come home halfway through me brushing my teeth and popped his head in to say he was home, I almost asked him if he had seen the boy, but decided not to.

It wasn't until I was sitting at my desk painting my nails that it dawned on me. I was on the middle finger of my right hand, having a hard time doing a good job considering I was using my left hand, when I looked up to stretch my neck. There were various pictures hung up on the cork board above my desk, but one caught my eye.

It was a picture of Scott and I on my first day of grade 9. We were beside each other, but there was a considerable amount of space between us, like another person could have- "OH MY GOD!" I screamed so loud I was sure our neighbours heard me.

"Scott!" I screamed, flying into his room, the picture clutched tightly in my hand.

"What!? What's wrong?" he yelled, running out of his bathroom, instantly scanning my body for any type of harm.

"Have you talked to Stiles lately?" I questioned. My words tangling with one another as I tried to get them out as quickly as possible. "He was at the school tonight and something really weird happened- I didn't remember him, neither did Liam and Mason. I think something bad is going to happen to him!" I was almost in tears as I rambled on to my brother.

"Stiles?" he asked, giving me a weird look.

"Yes!" I breathed. "Stiles. Have you-"

"Who's Stiles?" My heart dropped when those words left his mouth.

"Scott," I started slowly, scared for the answer, "Who's you best friend?"

The question obviously took him off guard as he hesitated for a moment, "I don't know? Lydia and Malia?" he stated, but it sounded like more of a question.

When he could tell I didn't approve of his answer he gave me a sheepish grin, "You?"

"No Scott! I'm not your best friend! Stiles is, remember him?" I shoved the picture toward him. "He was in this picture with us. He's been in every picture with us since we were kids. Come on, Scott!"

Scott grabbed the picture from my hand, taking a look at our two smiling faces and then the space in between us, "This is just a picture of us from last year, I don't understand what you're trying to tell me."

I let out a frustrated cry. "I'm trying to tell you that you best friend is missing!"

"Sydney," Scott sighed,  "I don't know what's been up with you lately. Liam said you were weird all night."

"Scott, please just try to remember him, please!" I begged. "His name is Stiles Stilinski, he's about the same height as you, brown hair, brown eyes. He's funny. He solves literally every problem we ever have. His dad's Sheriff Stilinski he-"

"Sydney! I don't know who he is okay? Now please just go to bed!" Scott cut me off, shoving me out of his room, through the hall and into my own room.

"Scott-"

"No, Syd, you need to go to sleep." I watched as he closed my door, leaving me in the darkness of my room.

Stiles Stilinski was gone and I was the only one who remembered who he was.

"I'll find you Stiles." I whispered as tears streamed down my cheeks, "I promise."

ummmmm oh my god!!! syd seems to have some sort of connection with stiles that allows her to remember him, hmmm what could it be??? if you think stuff is getting crazy now just wait for the later chapters, I am going to tear stuff up ;))
