✿ Chapter 1 - Run ✿

We're introduced to Lydia Woodhull through a flashback when she was a child and wanted to run with her brother and his friends. We then find Lydia pining after Benjamin Tallmadge before she makes her way into Setauket to bring pastries to Strong Tavern when things go awry.

✿ Chapter 2 - Correspondence ✿

In the flashback, we see young Lydia sneak out of the house and night to talk with Ben.  In the present day, after what happened at the tavern, Selah Strong is imprisoned and yet Abe was released and has gone missing.  Under the cover of dark, Lydia visits Selah.  Abe returns with knowledge of one of Lydia's well-kept secrets.

✿ Chapter 3 - Loyalties ✿

While Abe was missing he met with Ben, who gave him a letter for Lydia.  So he knows Lydia has been pretending to not care about Ben any longer.  Ben has given Abe a mission to help the cause.  Even though Ben doesn't want Lydia risking herself by getting involved, she does anyway.  The Woodhull siblings then meet Caleb Brewster to relay what they've discovered.

✿ Chapter 4 - Promises ✿

Ben makes a surprise trip to Setauket to see Lydia.  Abe makes an oath to the King in front of Setauket, despite having secretly joined the rebel cause.  Lydia runs into both Anna Strong and her sister-in-law Mary while in town.  She then visits Reverend Tallmadge, Ben's father.

✿ Chapter 5 - Who By Fire ✿

Through a flashback, we see an envious Lydia having to watch as the other children run around due to recovering from an illness.  Mrs. Tallmadge and Ben keep her company.  In the present day, we find out that someone has set fire to Abe's crops.  Lydia then helps Mary around the house before attending a town event. In another flashback, we see Ben and Lydia's first kiss.  Back in the present day, Lydia meets Robert Rogers, who is on the hunt for Ben.

✿ Chapter 6 - I Forgot to Remember to Forget ✿

Lydia, Abe, and their father are headed for York City on a seller's trip.  In a flashback, Lydia travels to Connecticut with Anna and Selah Strong to surprise been while he is teaching. Ben and Lydia make plans for their future.  Back in the present day, Abe urges Lydia to forget about Ben with the war growing more dangerous and closer to Setauket. 

✿ Chapter 7 - Proposals ✿

In the flashback, Ben and Lydia meet secretly.  Ben promises Lydia that he means to marry her.  In the present day, Lydia discovers her father's motives for bringing her to York City - to make an engagement for her to Colonel Cooke, someone old enough to be her father.  But she might just have a saviour in Major John Andre.

✿ Chapter 8 - Dances ✿

In a flashback, Lydia is in New Haven, Connecticut for Ben's graduation from Yale. Ben is happy to show her off, given that most of his classmates thought he was making Lydia up.  In the present day, Lydia readies for a party where her engagement to Colonel Cooke is expected.  In an attempt to keep from her father forcing her to marry Colonel Cooke, Lydia publicly accepts a proposal from Major Andre.  When they return to Setauket, Abe and Lydia meet with Caleb again.  Only Abe reveals Lydia's news to Caleb, knowing that it will get back to Ben before Lydia has a chance to tell him herself.

✿ Chapter 9 - Eternity How Long ✿

After Caleb's visit, Major Hewlett decided to fortify the army's base by erecting earthworks around their base, the church.  The Woodhulls attend a memorial for Thomas, Abe and Lydia's deceased brother.  In a flashback, we see how much Lydia adored her older brother Thomas.  We also see a young Lydia comfort a young Ben after the death of his mother.  In the present day, Lydia attends a sewing circle.  Angry visitors then come to Whitehall at night protesting the army using their loved ones' gravestones to fortify the earthworks.  The next day, Judge Woodhull puts on a show for the town to see.  Lydia also reveals a secret she's been keeping since June.

✿ Chapter 10 - Ardently Yours ✿

Ben makes his way to Setauket once more for Lydia's birthday, even after Caleb's revelation.  Only Caleb doesn't know Ben and Lydia's secret.  With Judge Woodhull gone once more to York City, Lydia is left at Whitehall alone.  Ben spends the day and night with Lydia.

✿ Chapter 11 - Christmas Eve ✿

Major Andre arrives in Setauket to spend Christmas at Whitehall.  While Major Andre and Judge Woodhull visit Major Hewlett, Lydia discovers the bill of attainder against Selah Strong.  She runs to Strong Tavern to warn Anna before it happens. When she gets back to Woodhull, Lydia dresses for the party that evening and Major Andre lets her in on a little secret.
