Josefina Cortez had once been known as the sweetest girl in Hawkins. With her radiant smile and warm, caring nature, she was the kind of person everyone wanted to be around. But that version of Josefina was gone, replaced by someone harder, angrier, and surrounded by scandal. Her transformation began the day her mother, Estefina, inexplicably turned on her. Josefina couldn't believe it when Estefina began spreading rumors that her own daughter was a murderer. The accusations spread like wildfire, darkening Josefina's once-bright reputation.

At first, Josefina was in disbelief. Her mother, the woman who had always protected her, would never do something like this-would she? But the hurt quickly turned into fury. Josefina refused to dwell on her mother's betrayal, choosing instead to brush it off and focus on her anger. She was pissed, and she let it fuel her.

Josefina lived in a run-down trailer park at the edge of Hawkins, a place that felt suffocating even before the strange events of the past year. What most people didn't know was that the trailer park housed a terrifying secret: a portal to the Upside Down. Josefina could feel its dark energy every time she stepped outside. It loomed over her life, a constant reminder of everything that had gone wrong.

At school, Josefina tried to hold onto her old life, still wearing the uniform of a cheerleader and going through the motions. But things weren't the same. After Max fell into a coma, Josefina began shutting everyone out-her friends, her teammates, anyone who tried to get close to her. Her heartache over losing Max consumed her, and she didn't have the energy to explain it to anyone.

The whispers started not long after. Josefina could feel the eyes on her as she moved through the hallways, hear the hushed voices speculating about the girl with the tarnished reputation. They said she was dangerous, that she had changed, that something wasn't right about her anymore. Josefina ignored it all, letting the rumors wash over her without reacting. She didn't care what people thought about her. All she cared about was Max.

Josefina wanted her girlfriend back more than anything in the world. Max had been her anchor, her joy, the one person who truly understood her. The emptiness Max left behind was unbearable, and Josefina's desperation grew with each passing day. She wanted to save Max, to bring her back from the coma that had stolen her away.

But as Josefina's desperation deepened, so did the darkness around her. The whispers in her mind, the pull of the portal, and the knowledge of Vecna's power became impossible to ignore. Josefina began to see only one path forward: if Eleven couldn't save Max, maybe Vecna could. It was a dangerous, unthinkable idea, but Josefina didn't care. She would do anything to get Max back, even if it meant betraying Hawkins and joining forces with the creature responsible for her suffering.

Josefina resolved to help Vecna, to aid him in his quest to take down Eleven, if that's what it took. In her mind, it was a necessary evil-a deal with the devil to save the girl she loved. But as Josefina stepped further into the shadows, she began to wonder how far she could go before there was no turning back.
