FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A WEEK, val woke up in her own bed, instead of a random bed in the resort close to her home. she had been sleeping over with either the girls, or diego.

valentina knew how she felt about the boy, and had actually confided in linnea about it. linnea of course, was absolutely extatic, and told val that diego was absolutely into her as well.

now, valentina trusted linnea, and all of the other girls as well, but she still doubted it. diego had been giving mixed signals, and it was confusing.

one day, he would treat her like she was a star that had fallen from the sky. the other, he'd be standoffish. but, more recently, he had been clinging on to her whenever they got drunk.

he'd not even let her out of his sight, and while she appreciated him looking out for her, it was making her even more confused.

ultimately, valentina decided to text the girls about it again, like she had done many times before.

WHEN THE CLOCK STRUCK EIGHT IN THE EVENING, valentina was stood at the door of the girls' vacation home. then the door opened to reveal the three dolled up girls, making val gasp, "you guys look gorgeous!" she complimented.

"i'll literally eat you." lucy commented, deadpanning. valentina put her finger to her lips and smirked jokingly, "come here then." she replied, all of the girls laughing after.

the four girls made their way to the boys' house, having gotten the message that ollie, kimi, paul and dino had already joined diego and santi inside.

kimi had told bella that they'd left the door open for them, which was true as linnea just pushed the door open. there was loud music again, coming from upstairs. "we're gonna get a noise complaint because of these wankers." lin commented, making the three others nod and grimace.

the four split up to go gather the boys, valentina found paul and dino first, asleep on —what she would guess— was a free bed, since officially only two people slept in this house.

"paul! dino! wake up!" she smashed a pillow on both of their heads, the two obviously waking up from getting hit. she could hear a groan coming from the blonde boy, "was the hit really necessary, val?" he complained.

"absolutely. now get up, we're going out." she scolded, making the two boys get up and follow her out of the room.

they met back up down stairs, bella having found kimi and santiago, linnea found ollie and lucy had found diego. "they were SLEEPING. literally how do you sleep everywhere you go?" val questioned the other girls as they made their way out of the house and to the little beach bar that kimi and bella had found a few days earlier.

they had been going there almost every night, except from when paul wanted to see nerissa. which was admittedly, also almost every night.

paul had the girls' schedule figured out, he knew when she was working and what days she was free. as scary as it sounded, nerissa apparently didn't mind. actually, paul had been doing a good job in wooing her.

when they finally got there, everyone ordered their drinks, as the music was playing loudly. one thing about this place, it always had great music.

valentina saw kimi and arabella happily dancing to some italian song, and she smiled. dancing together had kind of become their unspoken language. val thought it was incredibly sweet.

suddenly, diego sat down in the barstool next to her. she smiled at him shyly, him smiling back without hesitation. valentina liked his braces.

diego had seen what she was looking at and chuckled at their friends, "they're gonna end up together." diego said, now turning his attention back to the girl next to him.

"yeah, definitely. bella told us that the bartender here said they seemed soulmates or something, she was freaking out though, she's scared he really sees it only as a fling. which is stupid really, i mean, look at them!" the colombian girl rambled, gesturing her hand to the dancing couple in the middle of the beach bar, who both had big grins on their faces.

diego looked at her as he chuckled at her words, she had been right of course. "you're so right, but kimi thinks she wouldn't want to continue after summer. i've been trying to convince him that bella is literally the last person who would just abandon him after summer's over but he just doesn't get it." he laughed, though it wasn't really that funny.

after the two chatted some more —and a few drinks later— diego asked her if he could speak to her outside. fuck, she was nervous.

diego had led her to a secluded spot on the beach before speaking, "can i be really bold?" he asked, staring at her tipsily. "go for it." she giggled back, also not sober.

"i want you." he stated simply, much to the shock of the girl. after the two seconds of shock, she smiled teasingly. "oh, do you now?"

he didn't even answer before pulling her in by her waist, taking her response as an 'i want you too'. he leaned down and kissed her, a little sloppily due to the alcohol in his system. valentina didn't mind though, as she wrapped his arms around his neck and kissed him back just as fiercely.

after a few-minute-long make out, diego pulled back from her, panting like a dog. "casual?" valentina asked, also a little winded. diego nodded with a smirk, "casual."
