One year ago

Aleta paced back and forth across her living room. She decided that she was going to tell her dad about Bellamy and she was terrified. "Why are you pacing?" Damon Correia asked his daughter as he entered the room. Aleta jumped in surprise.

"Don't do that," she exclaimed. "Is there something that we need to discuss?" He asked her in a way that made her think that he already knew the answer. Gianna walked in after him and gave Aleta a look. "Yes dad, there is," Aleta said quietly.

She motioned for her dad to sit down on the couch. "There's something that I've been keeping from you for a while now," Aleta started. "Okay, what is it?" Damon asked, his voice serious. He didn't sit down. Aleta sighed, "Well—"

"Aleta has a boyfriend!" Gianna exclaimed, cutting her daughter off. The woman then clamped her hand over her mouth and her eyes widened. "What?" Mr. Correia bellowed. "Mom!" Aleta exclaimed.

"I'm sorry. But keeping this a secret was hard. I mean, this is such great news," Gianna replied sheepishly. Damon looked at his daughter, his face hard. "Is this true?" He asked her and Aleta nodded. "Yes," she said. "I can't believe this," he muttered.

"Dad, he's a really good guy. And I really like him," Aleta said. "Who is this boy? Where is he from?" Her father asked her. "His name is Bellamy. He's from Factory Station," she mumbled and her father scoffed.

"Factory Station? Surely you're kidding," he said in disgust. Aleta glared angrily at him. "No, I'm not kidding, dad," she said. "How old is he?" Was her father's next question. Aleta looked down, "Twenty two." Damon laughed humorlessly, "Twenty two? You're dating a twenty two year old boy from Factory Station? You're barely eighteen years old!" He said.

"Do I know this Bellamy?" The man asked and Aleta shrugged. "He's training to be a guard. I'm sure you two have crossed paths before. He told me that you came in during their training a few times," Aleta responded. "How long has this been going on?" Damon asked. "Around, seven months," Aleta answered honestly. "How could you not tell me that you were dating some boy?" Damon questioned angrily. "Because I knew you would react like this," Aleta said loudly.

"Alright, how about we all calm down," Gianna said, holding her hands up. "Of course I'm gonna react like this. My daughter is dating someone from Factory Station. Why would you slum it down for scum?" He asked.

Aleta's eyes burned with fury and she glared so fiercely at him that his eyes widened a little and he took a step back away from her. "You don't know Bellamy. You have no idea what he goes through or what anyone outside of Alpha Station goes through because you don't give a damn. And even with those struggles, Bellamy Blake is the kindest person that I have ever met. He is so loving and caring. He treats people with respect, even if they don't deserve it. People like you. He cares about me and I care about him. You have no right to talk about him or anyone else in that manner. Don't you ever talk about him like that again. Don't you ever disrespect him ever again. You don't get to judge him without getting to know him and I refuse to stand here and let you disrespect my boyfriend," Aleta hissed.

Her jaw was locked and her eyes burned into him. Damon nodded, "Okay, then I'll meet this boyfriend of yours. And I'll decide whether or not he's worthy enough for my daughter," He said. Aleta scoffed, "It doesn't matter what you think. I'll still be with him."

"Go to bed!" Damon commanded. Aleta narrowed her eyes, "I'm only going to bed because I like sleep." She scowled at her father and walked to her room.

····

The next day, Aleta stood in front of Bellamy's door and knocked softly on it. Bellamy opened the door and smiled when he saw her. "Hi," she mumbled. "Hey," he said.

"You're meeting my parents. Tonight," Aleta rushed. Bellamy's smile faltered and his eyes widened. "What?" He asked in shock. "Be prepared for questions and awkwardness. See you tonight," Aleta said quickly and tried to walk away.

Bellamy grabbed her arm and pulled her back causing her to groan and tilt her head back. "What happened?" He asked. "I was telling my dad about us but my mom blurted it out to him before I could. And he said some things and I said some things and now you're meeting my parents. Yay!" Aleta said. Bellamy's face held a look of horror and Aleta smiled sheepishly.

"I'm not ready to meet your parents," he said quickly. "Yeah you are. Just be yourself and everything will be fine," Aleta said. She placed a quick kiss on his lips and ran down the corridor.

····

When Bellamy arrived later that night, he was beyond nervous. Gianna Correia opened the door upon hearing the knock. A large smile spread across her face when she saw him. "You must be Bellamy. It's so nice to finally meet you," she said as she waved him inside. When he stepped in, she pulled him into a hug which he awkwardly returned.

"Aleta, he's here," her mom called. Aleta looked in her mirror and fixed her hair again. She was beyond nervous and she didn't know why. Maybe it was because her boyfriend was finally meeting her parents after all these months. She smoothed down her dress and sighed at her reflection.

"Alright Aleta, it's go time," she said to herself. Aleta nodded and exited her bedroom. She walked out into the living room and over to where Bellamy stood next to her mother. He admired her as his eyes travelled up and down her body. "Hi," she said softly. Bellamy smiled and shook his head. "Hey," he answered.

Gianna squealed in delight as she watched the two and Aleta rolled her eyes. "I'm sorry, but you guys are so cute. And you, Bellamy, are a very handsome boy. Did I tell you that before? Because you are," Gianna said. Bellamy smiled politely, "Thank you, Mrs. Romano," he said with a nod.

Damon Correia exited the bedroom then. His face held no emotion and Gianna scowled when she noticed. Bellamy straightened his posture as he saw the man come out. "You're Bellamy," Damon deadpanned and Bellamy gulped. "Yes sir. It's nice to finally meet you," he said with a nod. Bellamy held his hand out for Damon to shake. Aleta's father slowly took his hand and gave it a firm shake. "Likewise," the man replied.

"Let's get dinner started," Damon said, motioning for everyone to sit at the table. When everyone was seated and the food was distributed, Mr. Correia began the interrogation. "So Bellamy, how did you meet my daughter?" The man asked. Bellamy cleared his throat, "I, uh, met her at the clinic. My arm needed stitches and Aleta gave them to me," he answered.

"Why did you need stitches?" Damon asked. "I injured myself during guard training," Bellamy answered. Damon nodded, "Right. Aleta mentioned that you were training to be a guard. A cadet?" He asked. "Uh, yes sir," the freckle faced boy answered. "Yeah, I've seen you a couple times before. So, you want to be a guard?" Damon said.

Bellamy nodded quickly. "Yes sir," he replied uneasily. "Why is that?" Damon fired next. "Alright, Damon how about you cool it with the interrogation," Gianna suggested with a tight lipped smile. She turned to Bellamy with a genuine smile. "So, how are things at home? Is everything okay?" She asked him.

"As okay as they can be, I guess," Bellamy answered honestly. "Now what's that supposed to mean?" Damon asked accusingly, his voice raised in anger. "Dad! Relax," Aleta exclaimed. "I just meant, that things are good considering the fact that I don't have as many privileges as some people on the Ark do," Bellamy tried.

"Oh, and by some people, you mean us?" Mr. Correia said. "Can you not try to make what he says some sort of jab directed at you. It's not about you dad. You asked him a question and he answered it. Stop trying to find reasons to not like him. Because you and I both know that if you dropped the act, and actually get to know him, you'll actually like him," Aleta said.

"Now you think that you can talk to me however you want? Is it because of this boy? Is he changing who you are?" Damon countered. "Oh my God," Aleta muttered.

"Damon, that's enough. Stop talking because you sound like an idiot. Just eat your damn food," Gianna said in aggravation. The man opened his mouth to reply but immediately snapped it shut when Gianna gave him a death glare. He nodded his head and continued his dinner.

The four spent the remainder of the dinner in silence.

····

After Bellamy had gone home, there was a lot of tension in the living quarters. Aleta just wanted to go into her room and sleep. Any hope of her doing so died when Damon began to speak. "I don't want you to see that boy ever again," he said calmly. Aleta's eyes widened in shock. "Are you serious right now?" She exclaimed. "Yes. He's rude and I don't think he's a good influence on you," Damon replied.

"Because of what he said about privileges? It was the truth! He doesn't have it as good as we do. He actually has to work for what he gets," Aleta said. Damon's face darkened, "Either you end your relationship, or I end his career before it even starts, your choice."

Gianna's head snapped up at this. "You cannot be serious right now," the woman said, her voice cold. "I am," he said simply, sitting on the couch and turning on the TV.

"Why would you do that?" Aleta asked quietly. "It's not like I want to. But I'll do whatever is necessary to ensure that you aren't corrupted by someone like him," Damon said.

"Corrupted? The only person who has corrupted me is you. The only thing that Bellamy Blake has done is shown me how other people on this stupid space station live. He doesn't fill my head with bullshit like you've been doing my whole life," Aleta practically screamed.

Damon sighed in annoyance, "I've said all I've needed to say. What happens next is up to you."

Aleta glared fiercely at him and opened her mouth before snapping it shut. She left the living room angrily so that she didn't say anything that she knew she would regret. She entered her room and angrily stomped over to her bed. She picked up the pajamas that she had thrown on it earlier and changed into them, throwing her dress onto the floor in an aggravated fashion.

She laid in her bed, staring up at the metal ceiling in thought. She could not believe that her father would give her an ultimatum. Scratch that, she could believe it. What she couldn't believe was how cruel her father was being. Aleta turned onto her side and closed her eyes.

She didn't sleep at all that night.

····

Aleta knocked tentatively on the Blake's door the next day. Words were running through her mind as she tried to piece together what she would say to Bellamy. She was hoping that his mother would open the door in order to buy herself more time. Or better yet, that he wasn't home.

When Bellamy opened the door, her heart dropped and a heavy sigh escaped her lips. "Hey, what are you doing here?" Bellamy asked, a smile adorning his handsome features. Aleta took a deep breath before words began tumbling out of her mouth, "I came here to break up with you. I was going to make some stupid excuse as to why but, I won't lie to you. My dad said that if I don't break up with you, then he'll make sure that you never become a guard and I refuse to let that happen. I'm sorry Bellamy, but you need this and I won't be the reason that you don't become a guard."

With a nod of her head, she turned away from him and walked in the direction she had come from. A shocked and confused Bellamy stood in his doorway before quickly following after her. He gripped onto her forearm, causing her to stop, and turned her toward him. "Wait, so I don't get a say in this?" He questioned.

"What's there to say?" Aleta asked. "I don't want us to break up," he said and she sighed, "Did you not just hear what I said, Bellamy? If we don't break up, your future is ruined," she said. "I don't care," Bellamy protested.

"Well I do. And I think you're stupid not to. Becoming a guard will help you and your family so much, Bellamy," Aleta exclaimed. Bellamy stepped closer to her and placed his hands on her cheeks. "I want to be with you," he muttered quietly. Aleta shook her head, "I'm not worth it."

"You are to me," he responded. "We don't have to break up. You can tell your dad that we did and we can date in secret. He doesn't have to know," Bellamy suggested.

"It's too risky. What if we get caught?" She asked. "I think you're worth the risk," Bellamy shrugged nonchalantly. "And I think you're an idiot. You need this job, Bell," she replied. "And don't you dare say that you need me because if you do, I will kick your ass," she added when he opened his mouth to speak.

He grinned at her and took her hands in his own. "Do you trust me?" He asked, although he already knew the answer. She nodded quietly and he smiled even bigger. "Then trust me," he said. A sigh escaped her parted lips and she stood quietly in thought. After a minute, she groaned softly and nodded. "Okay," she whispered.

He smiled again and sighed in relief, "Okay," he said.

For some reason, Aleta thought that everything would be okay. That for once, things would go her way. That thought was ripped out of her mind when a week later, Clarke Griffin was arrested for treason and a week after that, Octavia Blake was discovered and arrested as well.

°°°°

Okay, so let me just say that I'm not sure whether or not Clarke was arrested before Octavia but let's just say that she was. Anyway, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter. This is going to be the last flashback chapter so, I hope it was good. Please comment and vote. Hasta la vista.
