Chapter One: Hybrid Hunting

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

(act iv)

HYBRID HUNTING

'the birthday and the hybrid '

"You build your army so big that no one will dare pick a fight." - Klaus Mikealson

The next morning came with an unexpected turn of events but it was entirely too predictable of the 'crazy' siphoner. After a messy and passionate night in Kol's bed sheets, Kai had drunk Kol's blood and killed himself and once again he woke up. He was now a heretic and Anastisa was anything but surprised especially since she put the idea in his head.

He walked into the kitchen with a swagger he usually had, full of confidence despite his thirst for blood. Ana threw him a blood bag from the fridge, she could smell the death on him and could already tell he was a vampire without him saying anything.

"Thanks, honeybunch!" he chirped and observed the blood bag in his hand with a quizzical look and with a shrug sunk his new fangs into it and finished it in seconds.

"Sweet mary mother of jesus, this is delicious!" he said with a bloody grin, and Enzo shook his head amused while Jeremy pouted at the fact even Kai could be a vampire and not him. He hated being so young but he understood it would be better to wait, he shuddered at the thought of staying eternally sixteen.

Kol walked in and clapped Enzo on his back as he walked past the dining table and grabbed the drink from Ana's hand and gulped it down. "I really needed that, Kai really puts up a good game," he smirked over at Kai who grinned in thanks.

Jeremy glanced between them both, watching how they gravitated to each other and as if a lightbulb went off he stood up and pointed at them. "OMG, you fucked!" Jeremy shouted and Enzo chuckled and muttered, "Little late there Jer."

"Did you not hear them? Or where you too wrapped up in Enzo and I?" Ana laughed as she started cooking breakfast.

Jeremy sent her a deadpan look and then smirked, "I was too wrapped up with my face between your legs and the holy sounds you make."

Ana rolled her eyes but he saw the small grin poking on her face.

"I heard them and I'm a level below and you guys are gross." Davina stated as she walked in and grabbed an apple and kissed her mother-like figure on the cheek.

"Just you wait little Raven, you'll find someone to be gross with," Kol snided before he dragged Kai along with him for what everyone could tell would be the tenth round.

"No you will not," Enzo stated, crossing his arms and he glared at her.

Jeremy put his hand over his mouth, his eyes jumping from the two of them, acting as if he was watching a soap opera and sometimes it felt like it was.

"She's old enough to set someone on fire if she choses thus she's allowed to share the comforts of anyone she choices." Ana told him, a hand on her hip but then looked over to Davina who was grinning in triumph. "But you must be safe and if they don't treat you well, i guess they'll never find their bodies!"

"Yeah Dad! Wait what?" Davina smirked at Enzo but looked at her mom with wide eyes, "Surely you wouldn't kill 'em?" she asked nervously.

Ana scoffed as she buttered the toast, "Of course darling, no one gets away with dispreating a Raven especially my little darling daughter."

Davina looked at Jeremy with wide eyes, making sure she heard her mother correctly. "She's right. They'll have ten different murderous people after them if they even thought of it!" he stated proudly and Enzo nodded in agreement.

Davina just shook her head and muttered, "You're all ridiculous."

"You'll understand when you have your own," Ana told her softly and handed her the toast she made for her and Davina took it gently, understanding she was just being protective, especially with the state they found her in at New Orleans.

"Thanks mom..i guess," she whispered.

"Now where are the others?" Ana questioned, she hadn't seen the other Mikealsons since the other day.

"I think Rebekah is giving a tour to the others and Bonnie left for the summer with her new green-eyed stud."

"Stud?" Enzo asked, his voice dropping lower and he earned a smug look from Jeremy. "How do you even know? Enzo asked with a huff, rolling his eyes and ignoring the 'stud' comment.

Jeremy and Davina grinned at each other and chirped together, "The group chat!"

"there's a groupchat?" Ana asked with a laugh, shaking her head at the idea of a bunch of old vampires texting.

"Why wasn't I invited?" Enzo asked with a pout.

"I'll add you," Davina said, patting his back sympathetically.

"It's so funny, I showed Finn how to use emojis the other day and now he just texts with them, even though he doesn't understand what half of them are. They're all so old," Jer said smirking as he laughed and Davina joined in.

______________________

It was less than an hour later when Klaus strode into the Raven Mansion like he owned it and called out to Anastasia who was sitting in the living room accompanied by Jeremy and Enzo. "Let's go, we're leaving this tragic little town. We have hybrids to make," He announced with his arms wide and a charming smirk on his face knowing they wouldn't reject him.

Enzo rolled his eyes at him and went back to reading the book in his hands. Jeremy smiled at him, ready to get away from the boring town of Mystic Falls since he was on break from school. Ana looked up from her phone with a raised eyebrow and they slicked down at the time.

Klaus looked over them with expectant eyes and Ana stood up and asked, "Is Stefan coming?"

Klaus nodded with a smirk, he was ready to be back with his old partner in crime despite the initial hesitation from the blonde ripper. He was just settling down after his brother's death and getting back with Katherine. But he knew it would do him good to get out of the house and back on the road, the Boarding House held too many memories of the blue-eyed Salavourte.

"And the history teacher by day and hunter by night is joining us. He overheard Stefna and I's conversation and invited himself," Klaus huffed with a roll of his eyes and then muttered, "He said he knows about some werewolf sightings."

Ana still heard him and nodded in agreement, Alaric was fascinated with the creatures beholden to the cycle of the moon.

She turned to Jer and asked, "Have you packed?"

Jer nodded with a smile and answered, "Yeah I packed before breakfast. I'll go grab it." He then left the three and went upstairs to grab his things for the road trip. He had gotten Jenna to drop some things off the other day and he already had most of his things at the house since he was there most of the time.

She looked back at Klaus who was preoccupied with the paintings hanging up on the wall, Ana knew they weren't as good as his but she liked them and it gave the room some feeling. She shot Enzo a smile as his eyes looked up at hers as she started moving to follow after Jeremy since she still hadn't packed yet. He dropped the book on the leather couch, then he grabbed her hand and sped them to their shared room.

Ana sped around the room, placing a bag on the bed and starting to put it on the bed while Enzo sat in a chair near the corner watching her. She finally slowed down to fold her clothes and asked Enzo, "Your sure you don't want to come?"

"Yes I'm sure darling. I've got everything sorted for the school. I'm still surprised Stefan gave it up so quickly. I'll start construction, it should be done before you get here with the hybrid," he replied and Ana looked over at him and smiled seeing his hand was propped up on the chair arm and his chin was sitting on it. Noticing her look he spread his legs and leaned deeper into the leather chair and sent her a smirk.

Ana stared at him for a moment but went back to the clothes, Klaus would start something if she didn't hurry up and Ana didn't want to extend his dream longer than it already had been. "That's good and Stefan is a good person, the Boarding House has a lot of tainted memories I'm sure and I think he wants to bring it back to it's former glory." Ana rambled and Enzo closed his eyes, listening closely to her voice, it was one of Enzo's main things he loved about, the sultry yet dominating tone she had that was tinged with a Latina accent that made her words seem breathless and sweet.

He loved to close his eyes as they cuddled together on the bed and Ana would tell him stories of Bonnie and her when they were younger or the small number of adventures she had in her short life span that was now eternal and he couldn't be happier to spend his eternity with her shrouded in her love and the others by their sides. He wanted to stand side by side as a unit, as a family - something he wished with all his cold heart and it would soon become a reality.

"You'll be fine without me?" Ana asked with a happy smirk as she looked back at him after zipping the bag closed.

Enzo rolls his eyes and stands up, his hands pushing him up on the armchairs and he walks, slowly with ever-careful steps that hardly make a sound as he stands behind her. With his pointer finger, he pushed her long waves of soft dark brown hair away from her neck and leaned and left a single kiss against the spot connecting her slender neck to her collarbone.

"Don't worry about me, my love. I have 'lived' years without your skin on mine by some nightmarish miracle and you will be back in my arms soon enough," he whispered roughly against her tan skin.

Anastasia let out a shaky breath of air as he ran his nose up her neck and she leaned her head to the side for him and he let out a hum. "I will," she promised softly and she ran her hand up his hanging hand and slid her hand into his perfectly.

The four of us had been following Klaus and his neverending trials of finding werewolves for days and we had finally caught one. We had been driving around America and now found ourselves in Tennessee of all places looking for one werewolf named Ray Sutton.

The large black five-seater car Klaus had purchased was sitting far away from the house our lead had brought us to. Jer and Alaric were in the back talking, leaving the heavy lifting to the only supernatural-powered creatures - like usual.

Klaus and I were walking up to the house while Stefan was scopping the area and would come in through the back. A blonde woman had walked out of the house calling for her dog that had run off and bent down to pick up a dog toy when Klaus and I sped up behind her to scare her. And scare her we did, she jumped back with her hand over her heart that was thumping erratically.

"I'm so sorry. We didn't mean to scare you," Klaus told her charmingly with a shooty fake American accent that made me cringe inside.

"Can I help you?" The blonde asked, getting straight to the point and it made me smile at her as her eyes jumped back and forth on us.

"Yeah, our car hmm, it ran out of gas a couple of miles back. Eh I feel like we've been walking forever, yours is the first house we came to so I was just hoping I could use your phone?"

"Don't you have a cell phone?" The woman asked suspectively as her eyes lingered on mine and I shrugged and said, "Phone cleanse, wanted to spend our anniversary together without the world coming at us, you know?"

The woman raised an eyebrow, clearly not knowing what I was talking about and I just clung closer to Klaus to make me look defenseless.

Klaus smiled down at me, his dark blue eyes swimming with mischief and he pulled his phone out of his pocket with his free hand and showed it to her and said, "Battery died. Look, I promise we're not a serial killers, I just wanna use your phone."

The woman sighed and said, "Sure."

When she turned Klaus took an eager step and with his horrible and grating American accent he asked, "Soo, we can come in?"

"No, I'll get the phone and I'll bring it out to you," she replied, turning around clearly untrusting of us and it made me want to roll my eyes.

Klaus felt the same and dropped his accent and said, "I thought you country folks were supposed to be more trusting."

The blonde narrowed her eyes and snarked, "I'm from Florida."

"Well, that explains it," he said looking at Ana with a lopsided grin and he grabbed her throat and compelled her, "Now show me a little southern hospitality. Sweet pea."

The woman invited us in and we walked into the kitchen where a dark-haired lady was cooking and called out, "I bet you a hundred dollars that dog ran off to a house with air conditioning."

"Understandable, the poor dog. It's disgustingly hot here." I said to Klaus with a pout and my voice made the woman turn around in surprise. She placed the bowl down, looking confused at us two strangers especially since Klaus was holding the neck of the sobbing blonde with one hand.

"What's going on?" the dark-haired lady asked with a shaky voice.

"Please don't be alarmed. I was told Ray Sutton lives here," Klaus said with a grin.

"He's almost never here. He's on the road mostly," she replied quickly.

"But I expect he makes it home, once a month," Klaus said and the woman's quietness answered him and he grinned, "That's what I thought. Where is he now?"

He waited a moment but she didn't answer so he sighed, "If I have to make you tell me it's going to be infinitely more painful for you."

The woman stared at him and her eyes went to the blonde and then she bolted out of the kitchen to open the front door only to come face to face with Stefan and she let out a scream.

Klaus and I followed her, pulling the blonde along with us and Klaus cheered, "I love it when they run!"

The woman looked back to him and gave in, "He's in Toll. It's near the border. A bar called Southern Comfort. It's on Highway 41!"

What a bad name, nothing was comforting about the South, it was hot and gross.

"Thank you," he said with a smug smile and turned to the blonde in his arm and he played with her hair and asked, "Now, may my friend come in?"

The blonde cried and shakily let out a "Yes."

I could smell the woman's fear more than see it as Stefan walked in with a blank look, he had gotten bored of Klaus's games and truth be told I had too. Klaus was childish and dramatic at most times and it was fun but it could get draining very quickly He had been letting Stefan loosen up and start showing more of his vampiric self. Klaus pushed the blonde in his arms to Stefan and said, "Kill this one quickly and make that one suffer. I'll be in the car with the others."

He left with a grin, ignoring the women's cries and Stefan and I stayed quiet looking at each other. "Take a deep breath Stef," I whispered, his eyes were trained on mine and his veins came crawling out under his darkened eyes and he bit the blonde and she let out a scream alongside the other woman.

Leaving Stefan to his devices I looked around the background, following the soft padding of a golden retriever, Rudy.

"Oh you are just adorable. Do you think Klaus will let me bring you? Davina needs a new friend," I said to him as he crouched down and scratched behind his ear. He let out a lopsided grin and wagged his tail, thumping it against the grass.

"You're so right! I'd love to see him try and stop me," I grinned, picked him up and trekked back to the house on foot, I didn't want to give the poor thing whiplash. When I got back to the house, Stefan was staring at the dead bodies with a look and blood dripping down his chin. I grabbed a tissue from the box in the room and handed it to him and he gratefully took it and wiped his chin but stopped when he noticed the dog in my arms.

He shot me an unimpressed look and simply said, "Really? Klaus isn't going to like this."

I shrugged and said with a grin, "Well I'm stronger and you should know by now what I say goes."

Stefan shook his head with a smile and I wrapped my arm around his waist and we walked back to the car that was playing a .. song softly.

"Well that sounded fun," Alaric said with a shrug as Stefan and I sat in the back together and placed the puppy on my lap. "Bit unnecessary for my taste but fun nonetheless," I said with a small smile, looking at the mirror at Klaus Hand he shot me a grin but scowled as he looked down at the new addition. "No. Go put it back," he said bluntly and I ignored him and just played with Rudy's adorable floppy ears.

"Ana." Klaus said in a warning and I just let out a hum, patting the dog like he wasn't shooting lasers at me.

"Omg! He's adorable," Jermey cooed from the passenger seat, straining against his seat belt to look at the ball of fluff in my lap.

"Do you even know how to take care of a dog?" Alaric said with a raised eyebrow and I rolled my eyes and replied, "Of course, it's not hard. Davina's been wanting on forever so this is a souvenir!"

"Souvenir? You stole their dog after killing them!" Klaus yelled and I shrugged and replied, "So what? Poor thing won't be getting fed anymore. You know I think he looks a little like you."

Klaus let out a gasp and said offended, "He does not!"

"He kinda does," Stefan said with a smirk and Klaus shot him a deathly look.

"Well to the Southern Comfort bar we go," Jeremy cheered, changing the subject and Klaus let out a huff, knowing there was nothing he could do. So with a groan, he started driving away from the house.

______________________

It took us all night and most of the morning to get to Ray and Jeremy's snores made it hard to even try and fall asleep. So Stefan, I and Klaus spoke about all sorts of things while Alaric and Jeremy slept.

Klaus pulled up at the Southern Comfort bar and I got out and stretched, it wasn't as fun as it sounded to be cramped in the back with two men on either side and a dog on your lap.

"Jer you wanna go take Rudy for a walk? I'll get him some water," I asked him after walking to the passenger side he nodded with a smile and I opened the door for him. Jeremy was quick to get out and start their walk due to a cramped sleep and I was ready to get a hotel room because I was not staying another night in that blasted car.

"You know what to do?" Klaus called from behind us Stefan and I went in to compel everyone while he spoke (read antagonize) Ray. "You got it boss," Stefan sarcastically said with a smirk and took my hand and spun me around as we walked in and I let out a laugh.

The bar was dark despite the time of day, a jukebox was playing some old country song, and most of the patrons were old truckers who stopped in for a drink or a bite to eat. Stefan and I split up and started to compel them to remain calm and quiet.

It was easy to spot Ray at the bar especially since the bartender called out his name. He was a lean, short man with a scruffy beard and long greasy blonde hair and of course, he was wearing a flannel and I wanted to burn it as soon as we were done with it.

Klaus and Alaric walked into the bar but quickly separated when Alaric saw the massive collection of alcohol and basically raced to get a drink, leaving the dramatics to Klaus. "Ray? Ray Sutton?" Klaus asks as he leans against the bar counter.

"Who wants to know?" Ray asks suspiciously, eyeing the British hybrid up and down. Klaus lets out a happy sigh then his mouth curls into a grin as he talks, "I've been looking everywhere for you. We started in Florida, Pensacola. I met a young chap there who you used to work with before you moved to Memphis, now he directed me to two lovely young women. And they led me here, to you."

Ray's hackles immediately tighten at his words and he stands up quickly and says, "I think I'll be going."

But his quick escape is stopped when Klaus grabbed his arm, and he talks like you would with a naughty child, "Not so fast mate. You only just got here, now your type are very hard to come by."

Ray tries to walk the other way but he bumps into Stefan who speeds in front of him, stopping him from leaving. I join in on the fun and coo into his ear, "Where you going, dearie? We only just got here." I ran my sharp nails over his neck with a smirk as his body tenses in fear and his eyes flick to mine. He tries to move when I push him back onto the counter and groans as his back snaps into the table.

"Vampires," he mutters with a horrified disdain that makes me smirk with tauntingly wave at him as Stefan joins my side, wrapping his arm around my shoulders, pulling me closer into his hard chest and kissing my forehead, nuzzling my hairline watching Klaus taunt Ray. "You're swifty swift Ray! Yes, my friends here are vampires. They compelled everybody in the bar so don't look to them for any help, you can thank the gorgeous one for coming up with that one. Sometimes I think she's a little too dramatic for my tastes, can't have her upstaging me you know?" Klaus rambled, his charming smirk pointed at me making me roll my eyes but there was a fond smile on my face.

While Ray looks uncomfortable and confused. Klaus pats him strongly on the shoulder and he grimaces at the strength and says, "Right never mind, back to me I'm something else Ray, a different kind of monster. I've got some vampire, I've got some wolf."

"You what?" Rays mutter with wide eyes that jump all over the place.

Klaus rolls his eyes at Ray's slowness so he explains, "A hybrid Ray, I'm both. You see, I want to create more of me. Now you being the first werewolf that I've come across in many a moon, pun intended Ray. I need you to direct me to your pack. So, where can I find them, Ray?"

I decided to let him have his moment but the comment about being a hybrid too was burning on my tongue.

"You can't compel me, it won't work," Ray says defiantly, glaring up at Klaus.

Stefan lets out a quiet huff and pulls away from me to pull out the pouch of wolfsbane out of his back pocket. He takes a step away from me to the bartender and asks for the darts and the compelled man quickly goes to get them. he turns to the still glaring Ray whose heartbeat was thumping loudly and says, "Tell you what Ray, We're gonna play a little drinking game, something I like to call truth or wolfsbane."

He pours the wolfsbane into his hand and crushes it between his ring-cladded fingers with a devilish smirk that almost rivalled Klaus who grinned like a child and told the frightened Ray, "Oh, this is gonna be fun Ray."

Ray doesn't find the fun in the game and leans closer to the counter as Stefan takes a step toward him. My eyes run around the bar and I spot Alaric in the corner watching us, he's sitting in a long leather couch seat, his legs spread out and a bottle of whiskey on the table and nursing a glass in his hand.

My heels click against the slightly sticky wooden floor as I leave the boys to their games and join Alaric whose eyes are now solely on my form. I reach him and crawl atop his lap, my hands wrapping around his shoulders to hold my balance and I kiss his cheek and he closes his eyes with a flutter.

"I've missed you, I feel like we haven't had any private time," I pouted to him as I took the glass from his hand and took a sip, the burn was pleasant down my throat. I hadn't seen much of Alaric until the trip since he was so busy with school but he was free now since it was break. It was hard to get a moment alone with him with the three other boys always up to something and the trip wasn't much of a vacation since we travelled a lot with the sole purpose of finding wolves which Alaric had been a good help with to Klaus's ire and surprise.

"Well I'm all here baby girl," Ric said with a lopsided grin as his free hand ran up my back and I arched up at his touch, my hips rolling against his crotch and the growing member below me. He kissed my neck with wet lips that I knew tasted like spice and bourbon. And soon enough his bourbon-stained lips met mine and devoured me whole.

I pulled away after a few minutes as Ray's screams of pain began to become annoying and even Ric's exploring warm and large hands or moaning-inducing kisses couldn't drown them out. Ric's lips moved from my bruised ones to make similar marks on my neck even though they would be healed in a second, it didn't stop him or any of them to try and keep it there. One of the cons of being a vampire I thought.

My hand curled around his neck like a python and I pulled him away with an annoyed look that was directed at the noise, Stefan was a good integrator from the amount of pain-filled cries Ray let out. I looked over my shoulder to see Ray was chained to the wall, wolfsbane-tipped darts littering his body as Stefan sat at a table across from him, stirring a dart in a glass of wolfsbane and after throwing it at him, he asked, "Ray, you can end this right now. Just tell me where your pack gathers for the full moon."

Their questions were growing repetitive and annoying very quickly, especially Ray's answers of "I can't" or "I don't know, please stop!" I get it, torture hurts but it wouldn't hurt if he just gave in and told Stefan and Klaus what they wanted to know and not drag it out. We all had things to do like getting laid or starting up the hybrid species but I had my eyes on the former especially if Ric's wandering hands kept going at it.

Stefan rolled his eyes and replied, "I know, I know. You live by code and all that, but see he's not gonna let me stop until you tell me. And I do whatever he says, that's the way it goes around here."

I was about to get up and stop their fun and just pull the answers out of his head by force just to get it over with when Jeremy came in through the door with an egear Rudy pulling him forward. All of us looked up at him and he took in the scene before him and Ray looked at him with hope-filled eyes and yelled, "HELP ME!"

Jeremy's eyes narrowed at his form and he groaned, "Come on guys! I'm gone ten minutes and there's a guy tied up on the pool table! You always have fun when I'm not here."

"You're too young Jer," Alaric chuckled over my shoulder, laughing harder into my shoulder seeing the annoyed look on his face and it brought a smile to Klaus and Stefan's face.

"You don't have the stomach either," Klaus joked as he stood by Ray's side. The snide comment made Jeremy glare at him but it was obvious Klaus found it more amusing than threatening.

Seeing the cheeky smile on Klaus's face he huffed childishly, "I do too!" And to further point it out he crossed his arms over his chest. I laughed into Alaric's neck and Stefan snorted into his glass filled with bourbon.

They were all so different yet so similar. Jeremy was the fun human, Stefan was the brooding vampire with a bad past and a bigger chip on his shoulder, Klaus the dramatic and 'all-powerful' hybrid while Alaric was the hunter yet unserious history scholar.

Jeremy rolled his eyes and walked further into the room, the other occupants not even glancing at him due to the compulsion eating at their brains and grabbed the bowl of water for Rudy I had gotten earlier. Rudy lapped it up with a woof and Jeremy sat down at the bar with a huff and looked Ray up and down and drawled, "Get anything yet?"

Stefan sunk lower into his chair and muttered, "No."

I finally stood up and smiled down at Alaric who pouted at him. "Give me a sec," I told him, then leaned down and kissed his lips. I pulled away and as I passed the bar I kissed Jeremy's cheek and the annoyance seemed to fall away and he relaxed. I dipped my fingers into a random glass of water that someone never took with them and walked towards Ray.

"This is how you do it," I smirked at Stefan who rolled his eyes and waved his hands silently telling me to go on.

Klaus watched curiously as I stood before Ray and tried to smile comfortingly at him and explained, "Now, this is going to hurt, much more than the wolfsbane. Honestly, you should've just given in to Stefan. Don't keep it against me dear."

His eyes bugged and he tried to wiggle away from me but the chains kept him in place as I placed my wet fingertips over his head and closed my eyes. He tried to block me out but he was weak from the wolfsbane, confused, fearful and angry which I took advantage of.

Soon the link was complete and I had him fully under my control as he relaxed under my touch. "Where is your pack," I asked softly, my words dripping with magic and honey and they flowed through his ears.

"The Smoky Mountains," Ray answered drowsily and I opened my eyes with a smug smile, his eyes were half-lidded and dazed.

I looked over to Klaus who was watching in awe and I nodded my head over and he walked over and I told him, "Feed him your blood."

Klaus nodded and I pulled my hands away from Ray's temples and Klaus bit into his wrist and placed it against Ray's mouth and Ray choked on it but it still flowed down his parched throat.

The daze was gone as he pulled away from Klaus's bloody wrist and coughed, "What did you do?"

"You'll thank me for it later," Klaus smirks smugly and pulls his now-healed wrist away. Tears erupted in Ray's eyes at the thought of becoming a vampire and I whipped them away and with a devilish smile, I told him, "Being a hybrid is going to be so much more fun Ray Ray. You won't feel the pain from turning anymore, you'll be faster and stronger without needing the moon. It's a gift, better than any other wolf, vampire or witch could offer ya."

He didn't say anything, just glared at me so I walked over to Stefan leaving Ray to Klaus. I took my seat in his lap and told him softly, "You did good, Stef." I ran my hand through his soft blonde hair and his arms wrapped tighter around my waist as he leaned into my touch.

Then Klaus announced," It's time for step two, Ray." He then twisted his neck, killing him and starting his transformation.

______________________

The drive to Ray's pack was a quiet affair with Ray dead in the trunk tied up and thankfully we reached the Smoky Mountains where his pack resided before he could snack on all of the doppelganger's blood that lay in coolers. We had left all our bags and the other half of the blood in our hotel room and I was regretting coming along and wished I stayed back with Jeremy and Alaric who were no doubt playing a video game.

Klaus and I trekked up the mountains with Stefan beside us carrying the unconscious Ray on his shoulders.

"You okay? Is Ray getting heavy?" Klaus teased him and Stefan shot him an annoyed look, it wasn't the first time he had asked. "I'm fine," Stefan muttered. I chuckled and moved both of the coolers full of blood to one hand and patted his back.

"You sure about that? You know, we've been walking for quite some time now. If you need some water or a little sit-down...," Klaus carried on with a cheeky smile on his face and Stefan rolled his eyes.

"Shut up Klaus or you could make yourself useful and hurry up so we can finish this." Stefan huffed out and Klaus shot me a grin with tinkling eyes full of mischief. "Also you're the one behind me," Stefan called out in front of us, looking at Klaus with a raised eyebrow but I could see the small grin twitching on his lips.

"We're here," I told them, shutting their teasing down as the smell of dog and sweat became overwhelming and we walked silently into the pack's camp. They all looked up at us with confused eyes especially when Stefan placed Ray's body on the ground. A brunette woman rushed over to him and yelled, "Ray! Oh, my God. " She glared up at us and asked, "What's going on? Who are you?"

Klaus stepped forward and dramatically said, "The important question is who am I. Please forgive the intrusion. My name is Klaus." Stefan and I looked at each other and withheld the urge to laugh.

"You're the hybrid," she muttered in disdain but Klaus took no notice and smiled, "You've heard of me. Fantastic."

Stefan and I sat down on a log ignoring Klaus' spiel about his journey as a hybrid and what it meant they could be. The werewolves stood still, listening and unable to do anything considering we outnumbered them since the moon hadn't gone up yet and Ray was still dead.

"It's fascinating...A werewolf who isn't beholden to the moon, a vampire who doesn't burn in the sun. A true hybrid," Klaus preached, charisma dripping off every word and honestly I would be on my knees begging to be bitten if I were a werewolf. Being a hybrid made werewolves powerful and gave them a choice to turn or not to and finally be powerful without relying on the once-in-a-month chance at power they couldn't even control fully.

Ray gasped awake, his hand shooting to his now-healed neck and Klaus stood over him with a smirk, "Excellent timing, Ray. Very dramatic."

I let out a scoff mixed with a laugh, the pot calling the kettle black. Stefan nudged me to the side so I stood up picking up the cooler with me.

"What's happening to me?" Ray asked in terror and he flinched when he saw me approaching.

"Step three Ray! The sweet blood of a vexing doppelganger." Klaus told him, excitement bubbling off him.

"You're going to be fine Ray Ray. Now let me help that pesky thirst," I told him and kneeled by his side and helped him sit up and his eyes dropped to the cooler when I opened it and grabbed a bag out. I pulled the top off and the smell wafted off, veins appeared under his eyes that were solely focused on the blood bag. I placed it to his lips and with one look up at me, he started drinking the bag with vigourity and I pushed the thick strand away from his face.

After he drank half the bag I pulled it away and he growled when I did, he tried to grab it but my wrist jumped to his throat and I kept him there. "Enough Ray. Leave enough for your little friends," I told him and he shook his head, pulling away from the daze of getting your first drink.

Soon enough all the werewolves in the camp had drank Klaus's blood, had their necks snapped and drank Elena's blood. It didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped but it was much better than what happened in the show, most of them were hesitant about turning because of their hatred for vampires but seeing Ray was fine and the looming eye of the Hybrid they knew they had no choice.

After they were dead, Stefan and I headed back to the hotel leaving Klaus to transform with his new hybrid army under the moon. I didn't want to take the chance of getting bitten even with Klaus holding the cure in his blood. Stefan and I weren't needed and it wasn't our place and I had a bed to get into.

A/N:

As you guys know I usually take a break when I finish a act/season and it was only supposed to be atleast two weeks but it turned out to be nearly three months... Sorry guys! I know I haven't been that conscient with my updates but it's so hard to write this and I don't know why but I have roughly ten chapters planned currently. I've also been doing an online course so I haven't been able to write as much. I will finish it but just bare with me. I think this might be the last act since the other seasons won't happen. I'm definitely doing a rewrite because of the amount plot holes in this is shocking and I'm working on Davina's spin-off/side story which will be interesting.

There's a bit of fluff in here and yes Ana's keeping the dog! The next chapter is a bit more smutty and angsty as we delve a little deeper into Stefan's past and his ripper side and the guilt he harbours. The next next chapter will be more about the others and what they're doing so they're not so left out lol.
