Chapter Forty

"YOU did amazing, sweetie!" Nawal exclaimed with open arms, heading towards her daughter to engulf her in a hug, then took her chances and hugged the other members.

"You guys did great. I'm so happy you all decided to do this." Ahlam spoke, imitating her wife and hugging the members.

Soon enough, each member's family came backstage, and congratulated the group on their amazing job a few minutes earlier.

"We had so much fun! I'm so glad we made it." Hyunjin exclaimed happily, adrenaline rushing through his veins. The other members giggled as they walked towards the car.

"Did you see Griffin's face when we sang Red Lights?"

"One word. Iconic."

"Do you want to drive?" Mal asked as she turned to Chan, offering the car keys to him. He thought for a moment, then smiled sincerely.
"Yeah, why not?"

Changing their usual, seating position, Mal, Felix, and Hyunjin sat in the back, while Han and Chan sat in the front seats. Chan then turned on the engine and began driving, slowly taking his time to savor the moment.

"Tonight was amazing," Mal whispered to Felix, whose head was lying on her shoulder, half asleep.

"Yeah... I'm so tired though."

She giggled lightly, "Yeah, I know, sunshine. That's why Chan's going to drive us to the apartment. I'm spending the night with you guys today."
She remembered Chan's offer from earlier, which involved her staying at the apartment building for a few days. Knowing that, after the concert, paparazzi would be swarming her house looking for answers, she agreed.

"We're going to share the bed?" Felix asked in a raspy voice.

"Yes, sunshine, and we're going to have fun together. You deserve some rest after this entire mess too."

Felix smiled, reaching out to hold her slightly colder hand gently. He thought for a moment, then turned to her, his eyes a little less sleepy as a thought crossed his mind.

"I just realized something," she hummed as if to allow him to continue, "you have the cutest nickname for me, but I don't have a cute nickname for you. That made me a little sad."

She smiled at the sentence. "Sunshine, I don't need a cute nickname for you to show me how much you love me, because I already know. However, I would love it if you pick one for me."

He thought for a moment.
"How about 'darling'? You're so precious to me, but that's all I can think of right now."

She chuckled again, then kissed his forehead gently.
"Darling sounds great. I love it."

He was about to allow his head to drop on her shoulder again, but yet another thought crossed his mind. This time it was a question.

A question that kept repeating into his mind ever since they began dating in the first place.

"Darling, what made you choose the nickname 'sunshine' anyway? I always wanted to know."

She rolled her eyes playfully at the mention of the question, the reason hitting her mind like a locomotive. It made her smile sincerely as she turned to him.

"Call it cheesy, or whatever, but it's because you light up my world. I'm not even kidding. You make me so happy that I look forward to the next day so I could see you, and I get this tug at my heart when I hear your name. I have no idea how you managed to make me feel this way, but you did. So congratulations, you made me fall in love with you, and eventually love you harder."

Felix's heart melted in his stomach, his eyes twinkled with joy.
"And, oh yeah, it's because your smile could make anyone's day brighter."

As soon as she finished the sentence, he stretched his arms out and hugged her as tightly as possible, happy tears threatening to stream down his face.

"You mean the world to me," he muttered, planting a quick kiss over her cheek, "I love you so much..."

She muttered the same words in a softer, passionate tone, leaning towards his lips gently.

"May I kiss you, sunshine?" She asked, caressing his cheek as gently as possible. His heart melted more into the touch, which caused him to lose the ability to speak for a few moments.

"Yes, please..."

She planted her mouth upon his in a deep, passionate kiss.
"I love you," she whispered in a hoarse tone, only an inch telling the couple apart. She kissed him one more time, resulting him in returning the kiss almost immediately.

"I love you too, darling,"

A few moments had passed with all of them sitting in comforting silence, which was interrupted by their phones ringing loudly in their pockets. Mal was the first one to pull her phone out of her purse and check the notification panel.

"Guys! The concert is going viral. We're freaking trending!"

Chan checked his phone, while the others groaned sleepily as they opened their eyes.

"Oh my God, I already have one hundred thousand followers!"

They all cheered and checked their Instagram accounts, realizing that the members were now having the same, if not less, amount of followers as their leader.

As the cheers died down into sleepy, raspy yawns, Han turned to the three members behind him, and the older boy next to him, a wide grin plastered over his face.

"Are you guys ready for this new life?"

They all smirked despite the dark behind their eyelids, and nodded.

"Absolutely."

THE END
