Three weeks later. | October 4th, 2021.

Jayda used a sterilized wipe to clean the cut underneath her eye, hissing as her tears seeped through the opened wound, creating a light burning sensation.

She held a pout on her face, not even recognizing herself in the mirror that she stood in front of. Currently standing in her bra and boxers, bruises and handprints covered parts of her body.

Nau'Jour had lied to her almost a month ago. He didn't get better, and he definitely hadn't stopped. In fact, he had gotten worse, and just like Jayda couldn't recognize herself, she didn't recognize him at all.

She didn't even know why he still laid with her every night if his love for her was very obviously gone. He acted like he hated her, and she couldn't understand why.

Even with the way he'd been treating her lately, abusing her and breaking her down, she still hadn't stepped out of their relationship, hadn't made any advances towards any man, nor had she changed her behavior towards him.

She was still the sweet version of herself that loved him, but he didn't care about any of that, and she could wrap her mind around the reason why.

She was confused about a lot of things lately, but one of the things she wasn't confused about, was the way Von had been growing on her.

Since Toosii hadn't been showing her any attention in almost two months, she found herself spending time with Von and their son. Just casual family dates, and she never stepped out of the friend boundaries.

He made sure to check up on her often, and though she lied to pretend as if everything was okay, it warmed her heart to see that he cared. She found herself reminiscing on the bond they shared years ago.

She realized over time that he definitely was still the one that she knew years back, before the fame. He was still sweet and as goofy as ever, still threatening everyone that pissed him off. He was still the one that she knew, and she couldn't lie as if she didn't miss him.

"The fuck you been in here so long for?" Nau'Jour walked into her bathroom, and she could smell liquor on his breath, making her scrunch her face up. She'd never seen him have a drink before.

"Are you drunk?" She asked, stepping back as he neared her, being locked in place against the wall, making her heart rate speed up.

"No. Is you?" He rose an eyebrow in confusion, and she took notice of his low red eyes, the outer area of one of them a dark blue, courtesy of her fist.

"Nau'Jour move please. I need to go check on my baby." She mumbled, able to hear Cyncere whining on the baby monitor.

"Nah. I miss you." He wrapped his arms around her waist, and her body tensed up. She was no longer interested in sex with him, and it had been two months since they'd even been intimate.

"Nau'Jour, stop it. I said no." She grabbed his wrist after his hand had slipped inside her boxers, stopping him.

"Move Jayda." He moved her hands, holding both of them behind her back, and she held a frown on her face, lifting her foot to push him back after he'd touched her once more.

"Bitch." He brought his fist back, and thinking he'd hit her in her face she moved her head to the side to weave his hit, but instead he'd swung at her stomach.

"Fuck." She groaned, crouching over and as soon as she did so, the back of his hand hit hard against her face.

"Jayda quit fucking playing with me. Do you hear me?" He roughly grabbed her face, leaning over to be at her level.

"Mommy?" Cyncere cried from the bathroom door, and Jayda felt the room began to spin, a sharp pain seeping through her lower half.

"Do you fucking hear me?!" He raised his voice at her, repeatedly kicking her in her stomach as she cried, the sounds of her son crying snapping her from the trance she was in.

She grabbed the metal bar of her towel rack, swinging it hard at his body, and he groaned, hitching over.

"Get out! Get out of my fucking house Nau'Jour!" She cried, pushing him out of her bathroom, and then her room.

"Jayda get the fuck on bra." He hissed once she cocked her fist back, busting him in his mouth, making his lip split.

"No you get the fuck on! Just leave me alone! Why do you keep coming back just to do me like this?!" She yelled at him, now in the front of her house.

"You got that nigga baby in you I hope it die. You better kill that shit or I will." He told her, and more tears fell from her eyes. She didn't even know where this delusion of her being pregnant with Von's baby came from.

"Please get out. Just leave me alone." Her voice cracked, tired of yelling, and he held a glare on graze, surprising her once he left.

She let out a sigh of relief, groaning as her body began to feel sore, but she didn't pay attention to it much, rushing to her room to a crying Cyncere.

"Mommy!" He wailed, tackling her legs in a hug, making her sniff, wiping her face as she listened to him cry.

"I'm sorry baby. I'm so sorry." She picked him up, holding him tight against her body while the two of them cried.

She limped to her bathroom, plugging her tub drain to start them some bath water. The pain in her stomach returned, and she sniffed, sure that she knew what it was.

"Don't leave please. He come back?" Cyncere spoke in fear after she'd placed him in the bubble bath.

"I just have to pee baby. He's not coming back, I promise." She kissed his cheek, and he nodded, letting her go and grabbing one of his toys that she'd placed in the tub.

Jayda limped to the toilet, her heart breaking at the sight once she'd pulled her boxers down, blood leaking down her leg and had gushed through her panties.

She sat on the the toilet, and once she peed she could feel something thicker fall out of her, and she covered her face, crying into her hands-knowing that she'd just suffered a miscarriage.

She tried to keep her cries quieted so that Cyncere didn't pay much attention to her. She knew that she couldn't have been that far along since she'd barely felt this miscarriage besides the cramps that were slightly heavier than her normal period ones.

She took a shower, cleaning herself off, watching the clear water stain a reddish color from her blood. She didn't know how she felt. She was just relieved she wouldn't have to bring a baby into her situation, but it hurt to know she'd lost her child.

After thoroughly washing herself off while listening to Cyncere ramble to her, she stepped out of the shower, getting herself dressed in an outfit for the day.

She didn't want to even think about what had just happened, she wanted to pretend she was never even pregnant. She was trying to psychologically trick herself so that she didn't dwell on the pain and sulk herself into a depression.

Jayda just wanted to move on. She wanted to change addresses, and start over somewhere else where she didn't have to be around Nau'Jour. She was so tired of putting up with shit that she didn't sign up for.

She definitely wouldn't take another hit from him, not even so much as a curse word after what he'd just done to her in front of her son. She never wanted Cyncere to see her that weak.

"Baby can you do me a favor?" She asked him as she got him dressed as well.

"A favor?" He mocked her tone, and once she laughed, he smiled. He was so smart to her.

"What did you see happen to mommy today?" She rubbed lotion in on his small arms, watching him as he watched her.

"Nana hit you mommy. And yesterday he pull you hair." He spoke in a sad tone, making her heart break.

"I no want him no more. He go home now, please?" He searched through her eyes, and she blinked back tears, nodding her head.

"Yeah baby. He's never coming back, I promise. But I don't want you to tell daddy, ok? Can you keep mommy's secret please?" She asked, pulling his sweats on over his boxers.

"Okay." He agreed, lifting his arms so that she could put the matching hoodie on his body.

"Thank you. I love you so much. Mommy got us." She kissed his face, smiling once he wrapped his arms around her neck.

She knew that she had to be strong for her son, no matter what. She had to keep going for him, and she had no other choice but to be okay. She would forever be okay as long as she had him. Cyncere saved her, and she would forever be grateful for her little baby.

"We surprise daddy for his birthday now?" Cyncere asked, the two of them now riding in her G Wagon, heading to Von's house, and she chuckled.

"Yes. You excited?" She looked at him in her rearview mirror, seeing a big smile on his face.

"Yeah! Folks nem come?" He asked, and she busted out laughing, making him giggle. He was Von's twin.

"No Papa. Daddy just wanted me and you to come." She chuckled, wiping the tears that fell from her laughing so hard.

"Mommy why you laugh at me? You no like folks nem?" He covered his mouth to hide his laugh once she laughed again.

"Boy you don't know no folks nem." She shook her head at him, parking in Von's driveway.

"Yes I do. Folks nem goof ass." He shrugged, and she gasped, unbuckling his car seat.

"Papa!" Von's voice warned from behind Jayda, and she laughed once Cyncere jumped, caught off guard.

"Daddy!" He shrieked, rushing out of his seat to get to him, and Von smiled, swooping him up.

"What I told you 'bout cussing?" Von fake frowned at him, and he giggled.

"Not around mommy." He answered, and Jayda gasped again, making Cyncere and Von laugh.

"Don't be teaching my baby that shit Dayvon." She popped his neck, and he smiled, wrapping her up in a hug.

"Happy birthday bestie." She chuckled, hugging him back.

"Thank you. I missed you." He held her close to him, along with holding Cyncere in his arms, who was busy playing with his chains.

"I missed you too. I saw you two days ago though." She smirked, and he shrugged, kissing her cheek, making her roll her eyes, a smile on her face.

"Happy birthday daddy. I got you so much gifts!" Cyncere pointed towards Jayda's trunk, and Von looked over at Jayda who shrugged.

"What you got me?" Von walked towards the trunk, watching as Jayda hit the button to let it up.

"Dayummm." A wide smile spread across his lips at the many designer bags and shoe boxes.

"I bought it all!" Cyncere excitedly told him, making him and Jayda laugh.

"With all your money? All by yourself?" Von asked, closing the trunk and wrapping his arm around Jayda again. He loved the gifts, but being with the two of them was his greatest one.

"Yes. All mine." He told him, holding around his neck as Von led them in his house.

"You didn't wanna bring the gifts in?" Jayda looked over at him as she removed her Chanel sandals at the door.

"Nah, I'll get them later. I wanna be wit' y'all right now." He chuckled, and she smiled, rolling her eyes at how cutely corny he was.

"You look so pretty." He told her after placing Cyncere on his feet, seeing the black bodycon Chanel dress she wore.

"Thank you." She avoided his gaze, not believing him. She hadn't felt genuinely attractive in a while.

"You welcome. I cooked, you hungry?" He said, chuckling at Cyncere who tiredly rubbed his eye, holding on to Jayda's leg.

"No thank you. I think he's sleepy already. I'll go and lay him down." She mumbled, leaning down to grab Cyncere, and Von stopped her.

"I got it ma. You look tired too. You chill in here and I'll go put him down for a nap real quick." He told her, and she nodded, thanking him.

After he'd left towards the back of his house, Jayda wandered into his kitchen, even though she said that she wasn't hungry.

She made herself a plate of the sweet chicken jambalaya, one of her and Von's favorite childhood dishes. She looked through his cabinets, finding a bottle of casamigos, taking it out.

She poured herself a glass, then sat at his table, waiting on him to come back. She picked through her food, taking bites here and there, but drunk her entire drink within a few seconds.

Before she knew it she'd drunk three glasses of Casamigos, and she could feel it getting to her, catching a headache. She wanted to go home now, she was so tired.

She didn't realize the tears that were falling from her eyes until she'd laid her head on the table, and it became wet. She sniffed, using a napkin to clean it as she poured herself another drink.

"Woah, woah, woah. What you in here doing girl?" Von appeared, taking the bottle from her, seeing half of the bottle that hadn't even been opened, now gone.

"I'm sorry. I'll replace it." She placed her palm on her forehead, a bit dizzy.

"I been gone twenty minutes and you got drunk without me? Whose birthday is it, mine or yours?" He chuckled, sitting next to her, and she laughed, wiping her face.

"You crying?" He frowned in realization, taking her hands from her face.

"No. Are you?" She kind of slurred, hiccuping afterwards.

"Damn. You still a crybaby when you drunk huh?" He smirked, and she laughed, hiccuping once more, laying her head on his shoulder.

"No. I'm not even drunk, what are you t-oh my gosh I'm about to die. What are you talking about?" She mumbled, and his eyebrows rose once she climbed into his lap.

"Nah Jayda. Watch out mama." He grabbed her waist because his dick had immediately hardened, lifting her up.

"Can you stop please? Move." She removed his hands from her waist, wrapping her arms around his neck to keep her position.

"Jayda you got a boyfriend and you're drunk. You gone be pissed at me tomorrow. Move girl." He chuckled, trying to move her once more.

"I said move Cyn. Why does no one l-listen to me why I s-say stop?" She hiccuped, moving his hands again, not wanting to get off of him.

"What? Who didn't listen?" He looked at her face, deciding to get some information out of her since the sober her wouldn't tell him anything.

"It's a secret. Shhh." She placed her finger on his lips, and he chuckled, letting her finger trace his face.

"You're so handsome. I miss you so much." She sniffed, and he searched over her face.

"I wanna hear that when you're sober. Not while you're drunk. Come on, let's get you some water." He attempted to stand up, and she kept him down by wrapping her legs in a locked position on the chair they were sitting in.

"I c-can't tell you while I'm s-sober because I'm fucking c-crazy, and sc-shit. Scary." She slurred, leaning over to place her face in his neck, and he refrained from groaning once she left kisses there.

"Jayda don't kiss me ma. You drunk, stop it." He grabbed her neck to pull her back, and she pouted at him.

"You don't w-want me either? Oh my god." She sniffed, wiping her face, dizzily standing from his lap, and he caught her before she could fall.

"Who doesn't want you Jay?" He held around her waist while she held on to his broad shoulders.

"Nana." She sniffed, trailing her hands up to his face, and he rose an eyebrow in confusion.

"Toosii doesn't want you how?" He asked, hoping the intoxicated her would tell him what's been going on.

"He doesn't want to have sex with me, only when I say n-no, then he w-wants to. He just wants to f-fight and fight and f-fight." She hiccuped, dramatically gesturing with her hands.

"You be fighting him?" He picked her body up once she became sluggish, and she drunkenly giggled.

"Me? No. That's m-mean. I hate being mean." She held around his neck, letting him carry her to his room.

"So he hits you, and you don't hit back?" He asked, and she nodded, laughing.

"I am such a weak bitch. Oh my g-god. We Ike and Tina." She kind of slurred, and he frowned.

"Jayda y'all be fighting foreal or are you kidding?" He laid her on his bed, and she kept her arms around his neck to pull him on top of her.

"Are we about to kiss right now?" She rubbed his face that hovered over hers, searching over his expression.

"No. Are you telling me the truth?" He asked, and she smacked her lips.

"W-who lies about being a-abused you absolute dipshit?" She laughed at herself, watching as he raised up from off of her.

"Show me." He said, and she laughed once more, rolling her eyes.

"Well take my clothes off then. I can't find the proof w-with them o-on." She giggled, and he face palmed himself.

"Best friend, he thinks that I-that I'm pregnant with your baby!" She laughed again, harder than before, finding it hilarious, but he wasn't laughing.

"Jayda are you pregnant?" He folded his arms across his chest, and she waved him off.

"Nope. He beat it out of me earlier. I told you we was Ike a-and Tina." She laughed at herself again, but the laughs didn't last long because she soon began to sob.

"Damnit Jayda I'ma kill this nigga." He wrapped his arms around her, letting her cry on his chest.

"He hit me in front of my baby. I'm such a bad mom. Oh my god." She gasped through her loud cries, trying to catch her breath.

"You not a bad mom. Stop crying baby." He wiped her face, holding her body bridal style, close to his.

"I'm sorry. I'm always fucking things up. I'm so tired. I never d-do anything to people to be t-treated the way that I-I am." She stuttered over her words, fanning her face as she became hot.

"Anddd you! You left me. Did you think that I-I forgot?" She laughed through her crying, flailing her self backwards, and he caught her before she could fall.

"I cried e-everyday for a whole y-year. Shit, I need to stannup!" She held on to his shoulders so that she could try to stop her dizziness, and he listened to her rant her thoughts aloud.

Von released a sigh of relief almost an hour later after Jayda had drunkenly talked herself into a deep sleep. He pulled his covers back, laying her underneath them, pulling one of his wraps on around her lace.

He tied her long body wave hair up into a bun, and then went to his bathroom to grab some baby wipes. Walking back over to her, he began to clean the makeup from her face, his legs beginning to shake after seeing fading bruises.

He leaned over, leaving a soft kiss on every one of them, making her softly whimper in her sleep. He loved her so much, he wanted life to be perfect for her. It pissed him off that he wasn't able to give it to her in the past, which ultimately resulted in her being with Toosii today and being treated the way that she was.

He stood up, grabbing the hems of her dress, pulling it up and over her head, revealing the black laced underwear set she wore. He didn't pay any attention to that, instead laying his eyes on more bruises.

His jaw clenched, and before he knew it he'd punched a deep hole into his wall, stepping back after doing so.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck." He grabbed his head, shaking his fist as he began to pace his room. He was so mad, madder than he'd ever been before.

To know that someone had put their hands on Jayda in a way that they weren't supposed to, someone who was supposed to love her, had set him over the edge.
