15.

A week later.

"Did I do something?" Von frowned, watching Jayda maneuver around Cyncere's room at her house, packing him a bag.

"No." She mumbled, pulling his dirty clothes from the bag she had and put them in his hamper, placing new outfits inside.

"So why you actin' like this wit' me ma? What's wrong?" His eyes followed her around the room, and she looked over at him.

"Nothing. There's nothing wrong. Stop asking me that please." She said, and he nodded even though he could very obviously tell that something was wrong.

After she finished packing his bag, she gave it to him, and he shifted Cyncere who was asleep on his chest, taking the bag from her.

Jayda led him out of the room, heading for her front door, gesturing him to walk out first. She watched as he laid Cyn in his car seat, and she leaned over to kiss his face.

"Bye bye mommy." He mumbled, and she smiled, pecking his lips.

"Bye Papa. I'm gonna miss you." She rubbed over his braids, her heart fluttering as she watched his face frown up while he yawned.

"You go with me and daddy please?" He asked, and she chuckled.

"Not right now Papa. Maybe later, okay? I'm waiting for Nana." She said, watching as he pouted.

"I no want Nana." He mumbled, and a low sigh left her lips. He'd drifted away from Nau'Jour lately and she didn't know why.

"I will go with you and daddy tomorrow. We can go to Chuck E. Cheese." She told him, and his pout was replaced with a smile, making her smile as well.

After giving him another hug, she buckled him in, closing the car door, then turned to face Von.

"Why he don't like him no more?" He asked, curious. He didn't want Cyn to be around Toosii if he didn't like him, he didn't care that he was with Jayda. Cyncere came first.

"I'm not sure. I'll talk with him when he comes home." She rubbed her hands down the tights she wore, and his eyes raked over her figure.

"What happened to you?" A frown placed on his face, grabbing her arm to look over the bruise on her wrist.

"Boy move." She pulled away from him, and he stale faced her.

"Jayda I'm not in the mood to play with you. What happened? Don't lie to me." He said, and she rose an eyebrow.

"Nothing important." She brushed it off, and his frown deepened.

"I find out that nigga touching you and I'ma kill him. I put that on my son life. You would tell me if he was, right?" He looked down at her, and she looked elsewhere, avoiding his gaze.

"I'm not being abused Cyn. Damn." She folded her arms across her chest, a small frown placing upon her face.

"I didn't say you was. But even if it's emotional wise, don't let nobody play with you. I don't want nobody to ever do you how I did you. Don't go through that again. I know I ain't the best person to be hearing that from, but I'm serious. You deserve more than anybody could ever give you."

"So if something was happening wit' him, I want you to tell me. You still my best friend and you the mother of my kid. I'm not gone let nobody play wit' you. Folks nem' a die if they fuckin' wit' you. Aight?" He searched over her expression, and she wrapped her arms around his neck in a hug.

"Don't let nobody play wit' you mama. I'm serious." His voice rasped out, hugging around her waist, and she nodded. She was tired of people playing with her too.

"I love you Cyn." She mumbled, telling the truth.

"I love you more. I love hearing you say that." He rubbed her waist, and she grabbed his hand to stop him, making him chuckle.

"You pushing it." She rolled her eyes, a small smile on her face as she pulled away from him.

"Yeah whatever. I was serious 'bout what I said though. I'a handle that shit for you, you know that. Don't play wit' me." He told her, and she chuckled.

"I know Dayvon. Bye, take care of Papa." She waved, walking back up the walkway towards her house, and he waved as well, backing out of her driveway.

After watching them drive away, she closed and locked her front door, beginning to clean up her house since she had the time to herself.

She had been cleaning for about an hour when her alarm system alerted her that Toosii was approaching the door, making her sigh.

It was crazy how you could go from always wanting to be around a person to feeling like you were always bothering them. She hated feeling like she got on his nerves, and it didn't make it any better that she was pregnant with a child she didn't even know if he wanted.

"Hey. How was your day?" She looked up from wiping her kitchen counters once he kissed her cheek.

"Good. Yours?" He trailed his kisses to her jaw, and then down to her neck.

"It was okay. I haven't really done anything besides get Cyn ready to go with his dad. And now I'm cleaning." She chuckled, letting him tilt her head to leave a hickey on her neck.

"Baby are you high again?" She mumbled, a small frown on her face. He'd been high a lot lately.

"Yeah. My bad. I know youn like that." He kissed her cheek, and she looked up at him as his arms wrapped around her body.

"It's okay. Do you wanna talk?" She asked, letting his hands roam down her body while she held his torso.

"No. I miss you." His hand trailed between her legs, rubbing over her lower half, and she grabbed it to stop him.

"I haven't went anywhere Na. I don't wanna have sex while you're high, move please." She pulled his hand back, frowning once he didn't move.

"You mad at me?" He asked, looking down at her.

"No. Can you move your hand?" She met his eyes, and he did so, stepping back from her.

"You was letting that nigga touch on you outside but I can't?" He rose his eyebrow in a questioning manner, and she frowned.

"Nau'Jour please don't start this. I'm tired of arguing about the same thing." She muttered, turning to walk off from him. He grabbed her wrist to pull her back, and her frown deepened.

"I told you to stop handling me like this. Let me go Armani." She attempted to free herself from his grip, before gasping once she was grabbed up by her neck, her breathing being cut off.

"Jayda you pissing me off. You don't wanna fuck me? Why, cause his kid in you ain't it?" He tilted his head, holding her against the wall.

Jayda brought her foot up to kick between his legs, and he groaned, letting her go to clutch his dick, hissing.

"Are you fucking serious?" She kind of panted, trying to regulate her breathing.

"Stop putting your f-." She was cut off, being grabbed by her neck and slammed against the floor, making her groan out, a sharp pain shooting through her back.

"Nau'Jour my baby." She cried, feeling the pain seep into her stomach, and he watched as blood began to lightly mat her hair from the impact of her head on the ground, making him realize what he was doing.

"Shit. Shit, shit baby I'm sorry. Damnit Jayda. I'm sorry, come here." He lifted her up as she cried, her entire body already sore from how hard she'd hit the ground.

"Why are you doing me like this Nana? What did I do? Oh my god." She cried, wiping her face as he carried her back to her room.

"I wasn't realizing what I was d-I'm sorry Jayda. I didn't mean to that baby. I'm so sorry." He placed her on her feet after making it to the bathroom, his heart breaking as he watched her cry.

"Baby I'm sorry. Let me see." He turned her around, using a wet towel to wipe the minimal blood from the small scar that was now in her head, sure that she would need a few stitches.

He ran her some hot bath water, removing her clothes from her body as she silently cried to herself, letting him take care of her.

"I'm sorry. Do you want me to leave?" He asked, sitting on the bathroom floor while she sat in the tub.

"Why are we acting like this? I just f-I just told Dayvon that you weren't hurting me Nana. Why would you come home and do this? I didn't even do anything." Her cries were short due to how hard she was breathing, trying to calm herself down.

"I didn't mean to J. I'm sorry." He wiped her face, pulling her head forward to softly kiss her forehead.

"You so beautiful. I'm sorry baby. I been fucked up lately and I'm taking it out on the wrong person. I'm so sorry." He left more kisses on her face, kissing her tears away.

Jayda didn't respond, unsure of how she was feeling. After she bathed, she carefully stepped out with the help of him, more tears falling as he helped her get dressed in some clothes to sleep in.

As he laid down with her, her body slightly tensed as he pulled her close to him, making him sigh under his breath. Jayda didn't understand why he was acting so hurt as if this wasn't his fault. All he had to do was not do it.

"Baby I'm sorry." His voice rasped, rubbing her face to wipe her tears, and she blinked slowly, allowing her tears to fall.

"I love you so much. I'm not gone do that no more, ok? I don't know what the fuck that was man I-I'm sorry." He told her, frustrated with himself.

Jayda could honestly say that she wasn't sure if she loved him anymore. The past week he'd been roughly handling her, but had never actually hit her until today.

She hated that she was allowing yet another man to treat her as if she'd done something wrong. She was beginning to question her worth again, and was hoping this wouldn't last-the same mistake she made with Von.

It seemed like people oftentimes got tired of her, and would change the way that they'd been treating her-which made her question herself on if it was her fault? She didn't know if she was doing something wrong or not.

Nau'Jour had never treated her any less than that of a princess from the first day they'd met, so she didn't know how to handle how he was treating her now.

The thought of him abusing her had never crossed her mind, he rarely ever cussed her out, so this was brand new. This was the man she thought she was going to marry, one who finally loved her the way she was supposed to be loved, just for him to change up on her.

She was so conflicted and hurt. She was tired of being treated less than what she deserved. She'd told herself years ago she'd never be in this position again, yet here she was, in the exact same one.

Only with Von, he'd never raised a hand at her. She had never been scared of Von before, but she couldn't lie like a ping of fear wasn't hiding in her body from Toosii.

She could feel her head lightly throbbing, catching a migraine, and she felt like her heart was literally breaking thinking about the well being of her baby.

Her eyes closed once Nau'Jour left a sweet kiss on her forehead, burying his face into the crook of her neck, and more tears fell from her eyes.

"Nau'Jour, will we be okay again soon, or do you plan on doing me like this for a while?" She sniffed, genuinely wanting an answer.

"We okay baby. I'm sorry. We okay." He held her face, softly kissing her lips, and she sighed once more. She hoped that was true.
