CASEY RAN, FASTER than he had ever in his entire life. His legs were starting to give out, but he didn't pay it any notice. He his arms, Kylie laid; her head dangling.

April and Vern were barely in front of them and as the reached the lowest level, where all the police were gathered; April yelled

"We need medical attention!"

The EMT, who were on standby, snapped their heads in her direction and quickly made their way over. One of them reached to take Kylie from Casey's arms, but he refused and he carried her all the way to the stretcher. The EMT's then rushed to stop the bleeding as they called for an ambulance.

The Chief made her way over, to see what all the commotion was about. Her face drops when she sees the oxygen mask on Kylie and turns to her brother, who is frantic and crazied at her side.

"Jones, go with her. We've got everything here." The Chief tells him

But he doesn't hear her, all of his attention's on Kylie. April places a hand on his shoulder.

"She's a tough one, Casey. She's going to be fine." She whispers to him

He nods slowly, but his gaze remained on his sister. It wasn't long later the ambulance began to back in and the EMT'S were ready to load her. Casey followed them into the back, he gave April on last look before they shut the doors.

Vern walks up beside April, he gaze resting where the ambulance once was.

"She's going to be alright, right?"

April turns to look at him.

"She's going to be fine. She's a tough kid."

Before Vern could respond, the sound of loud yelling could be heard from behind them.

"COWABUNGA!"

They both turned around as Mikey hit the ground behind him, before being surrounded by police men and others. His brothers weren't fall behind him, but all except one stayed to talk of their glory.

Leo broke through the crowd, and gave a small smile to April before making his way over to her. Both April and Vern shared a look before looking back at him. He caught the silent bliss in the air, and it wasn't peaceful.

"What? What happened? Where's Kylie and Casey?"

April lets out a breath before looking at him.

"The hospital."

Leo takes a breath, April can see his limps go numb and see how he was struggling with his composure.

"Who was hurt?."

Vern gulped as April looked at him.

'Man I should've started this conversation.' Vern thought

"Uh-um, listen, the doctors are really-"

"Who. Got. Hurt.?" Leo pressed

His brothers had finally decided to break away and join them. However, Donnie and Raph shared a look as they practically watched the steam roll off Leo's shell. Mikey could sense it as well, how stiff and serious his eldest brother stood; towering over April and Vern.

"Kylie." April whispers

But Leo heard.

In an instant, his whole body almost collapsed at the thought of losing her. It was the feel of hands on his shoulders, that brought him back from his falling hysteria.

"It's going to be okay Leo. I'm sure Kylie will be fine. She's tough." Mikey reassured

Leo nods at him, silently thanking him for his comfort. He turns and looks at April and Vern, who looked at him sadly.

"She was stabbed in the hip and then pulled the knife out and used it to shut the portal. The blast from it knocked her into a toolbox, she hit her head."

Leo nods, slightly better.

"Casey rode with her in the ambulance."

Leo nods, as his brother's stands to the side in shock. They didn't know her as well as their elder brother, but they did know she wouldn't ever have to prove her loyalty to them: ever again.

Before anyone can say anything, Chief Vincent makes her way over to them, professional and collected.

"Your friend is in the hospital, as I'm sure you heard." She states

"I'll arrange for her level to be cleared, and you can get in to see her."

Leo's face lights up at her words, however he completely regains his composure and shakes her hand.

"Thank you Chief. I-we appreciate it."

"Thank you, for saving our city." Vincent says shaking his hand one last time before letting go and turning to the detectives waiting nearby.

Casey paced back and forth in the waiting room, looking out at the destruction of the city below him. He turned and looked back inside the hospital, and his stomach turned as he thought about his sister; who was being operated on at the very moment.

Casey felt dizzy as he leaned against the glass, his head high as to keep him from drowning.

"Casey!"

He snapped his head down, and tried to gather himself as April stepped closer. She placed her hands on his shoulders first, as if to steady a shaking sea, before wrapping her arms around his neck.

He quickly wrapped his arms around her waist, burying himself in her neck. April could feel the moisture on her neck grow and she stroked Casey hair comfortingly.

The world seems to stop for the two, time slowly around them. After a while, April pulls away and a chorus of 'aw's are heard. This however startles Casey as he looks up to see the four turtles standing quietly in front of them.

"When hell did you guys get here?!"

"Not long after April, but we figured we give you guys your moment." Donnie responded.

Casey shakes his head, April's hands still inlaced in his.

"How is she? Is she okay?" Leo questioned, trying to keep down the fear in is voice.

"She's in surgery. They said they'd send a nurse as soon as she's up."

He nods, trying to keep himself from pacing . His brothers turn and give him a look, Mikey having to cover his mouth to keep from laughing.

"What? What's so funny?"

"Oh just you, fearless." Raph says

But before he can ask, a nurse breaks through the crowd, slightly staring at the four brothers before turning her attention to Casey.

"Uh, Mr. Jones?"

"Yes. How's my sister?" Casey asked as he regained his calmness

"She's okay. Her surgery went fine. She has a slight concussion, but other than that, and a few cuts and bruises, she's perfect. She's very lucky."

Casey and Leo's faces light up. And the boys look at their eldest brother once more.

"Thank nurse. When can we see her?"

"She's she asleep, the amnesia can take anywhere from one to three hours to where off."

"But we recommend only one person in at a time." She says turning her gaze to the turtles

They size up, especially Leo who thought he was at risk of not seeing Kylie.

"Yeah that's fine."

The nurse walks away, but not without giving once last startled look to the turtles.

"Man we just saved the city." Raph grumbled

Mikey puts a hand on his shoulder and Raph gives him a slight smile.

"Okay, uh. Do you guys want to take turns after me?" Casey asked as he turned away from April.

"Yeah, I'll go in after you if that's alright." Leo volunteered quickly

Casey nodded on the outside, but inside he could tell something was off about the turtle, and he wasn't sure how he felt about his eagerness for his sister to be okay. Of course the others were worried, but no one looked more anxious than Leonardo to see her recover.

He then turned back to April with a nod before heading off towards the rooms.

April then turned to the boys and smiled before sitting down and grabbing a nearby magazine.

The boys looked amoung themselves, before huddling.

"Okay so are we all stayin' or just one of us?" Raph asked

"Raph! She just had surgery!" Donnie said, surprised by his brothers eagerness to leave.

"I know! But it ain't like all of us bein' here is gonn' help her recover faster."

"Well I'm staying." Donnie says

"Leo?" Mikey questions as he looks to his spaced out brother.

"Uh, me and Donnie will stay. You and Raph head home, shower, rest and head back." Leo instructs

The others nod before turning back towards April.

"Bye April, see you later!" Mikey calls as he and Raph exit the building

April looks up from her magazinez, slightly confused.

"Where are they going?"

"Home. I think all of us being here is scaring the hospital workers, which angers Raph so it's for the better." Donnie tells her

April nods before looking around the waiting room.

"I'll go see if they have any bigger chairs or benches." April says getting up

Leo goes to call out to her, to tell her they would be fine, but Donnie stops him; shaking his head.

"Just let her. I could sit down."

Leo chuckles before nodding at his brother

Kylie laid in complete silence, her body still and mind blank as she sleep. Even in her unconscious state, her subconscious body sensed someone next her and the warmth seemed to deep into her being, making her skin smooth the bumps on her skin.

Kylie laid in a pool of darkness, drowning. She could feel the life being sucked from soul, as her lung lost air. She struggled to swim upwards, her fingers clawing at the dark substance.

Suddenly, something wraps around her; pulling her upwards. She turns her head, but can't see the arm; she is instead meet with the prettiest set of blue eyes. Eyes of swirling storms and restless seas swimming together; her heart raced as she fell instead into them.

She reached them, and as she went out to touch the face of her rescuer, her eyes snapped up and her body shot forward.

She squinted her eyes at the harsh light of the room.

"Kylie! Are you okay?"

Kylie took a few minutes to adjust to the room, before looking around it. She looked to her right, where a large window gave view of the city.

She then turned her gaze to the left, before making eye contact with her brother.

"Casey? Where are we?"

"In hospital. You were hurt."

Casey hands push the fallen pieces of her haif out of her face.

"The last thing I remember is...the portal. Did it close!?"

"Yes, you closed it."

Casey grabbed her hand, squeezing it tightly.

"I almost lost you."

Kylie frowns up at him, her blue eyes heavy and weak.

"I'm sorry Casey. I love you."

He smiles down at her before placing a kiss to her hair line.

"I love you too kid. One of these days you're going to stop giving me heart attacks."

Kylie laughed but quickly winced afterwards and Casey quickly help her get into a more comfortable position.

"Be easy, you had to have surgery."

"Surgery? I was stabbed, won't that just be stitches?"

"Yes, but you pulled out the knife and they said that caused the membrane to push further apart. They said they would have to realign the membrane and cut out any infected parts."

Kyle nods before leaning back.

"Is anyone else here?" She asked

Casey looked down to her with a smirk.

"Why? Hoping a certain blue masked turtle is sitting in the waiting room?"

Kylie rolled her eyes, but smiled. Casey laughed before squeezing her hand once more.

"I'll go get them."

Kylie lets the soft pillows of her bed surround her, creating a ravine that she falls back into.

As the door opened she smiled as Leo stepped through. He was battle worn, cuts and bruising covered his body, his pants torn and some places.

"Hey Leo."

He smiled at her brightly, probably the biggest one she had received from him.

"Kylie... I'm glad you're okay."

She smiles at him as he walks over. She grabs his hand and squeezes, letting him know she's okay. He brings her hand to his lips as he takes a knee at the side of her bed.

Kylie giggles and Donnie, then April walk in.

"Hey Kylie, how are you feeling?" April asked gently

"Pretty good. My side is killing me, but other than that a-okay."

The all laugh and Kylie winces.

"You okay? Do you need anything?" April asked her

"Uh, tell Casey I want a burger. A good burger."

They all laugh and Casey walks into the room.

"Okay, the doctors say that they want to keep you for the next three days for observation and to make sure the stitching doesn't get infected. And we need to make sure you always have water."

Kylie hums and nods her head before pulling out her puppy dog eyes. Casey gives her a look, already knowing she wasn't something.

"What do you want?"

"A burger...one from Burger King. I really want Burger King, and a change of clothes. I feel weird laying here in this night gown."

Casey lowers his head and chuckles.

"I think I can work with that. April you want to come with me?"

She nods before turning to Kylie.

"Do you need anything else?"

"Uh, hmm.. actually my phone, charger and my bath stuff. Casey knows where it all is. But uh, I don't remember where I left my phone."

"I think it's in the lair, you didn't take it with us to Police Headquarters." April tells her

"I'll call Raph and have him bring it when him and Mikey come." Donnie offers

"Thanks Donnie." Kylie tells him with a smile.

He nods as April speaks

"Okay, I will make sure he grabs all that. Anything else?"

"Hmmm....no nothing I can think of. Thank you April."

"Of course, you guys call me if anything comes up." April says, turning to Leo and Donnie

"We will April." Leo responds

She nods before walking out the door, Casey walks over to Kylie and places a kiss to her hairline before looking over to Leo. He narrows his eyes at him, confusing Leo. He then turns and whispers something to Donnie, who laughs in response.

"I will."

Casey nods at him before walking out of the room and closing the door behind him. Both Kylie and Leo look at each other before turning to Donnie.

"What was that about?" Kylie asked for both of them

"Oh nothing, just your brother being overprotective."

"What?" Kylie questioned

"Don't worry about it. Stressing will give you a migraine, you need to rest." Donnie instructs her

"Alright Doc."

Donnie chuckles before standing up from the seat.

"I'm going to call Raph, you two behave."

Kylie and Leo look at each other again, their eyes narrowed in confusion. The door clicks not long later and Kylie takes it as a chance to speak.

"What the hell is that about? 'Behave' What?"

"I have no clue what they're talking about." Leo responds

Kylie shrugs and leans back into her bed.

"I hate hospitals." She states as she looks at the ceiling.

"Your parents?" Leo asked

"Yeah. I was sitting in a New Haven's only waiting room. I'll never forget that day. The harsh yellow light made everything eerie and harsh, it was unbelievably cold, and it felt like a million years had past by before we received the news." Tears began forming in the corners of Kylie's eyes.

Leo watched her take deep breaths, trying to calm herself.

"I vowed to never step foot back into a hospital, unless I had too. I guess I had too."

Leo watched as a single tear rolled down her left cheek and he instinctly took her hand. Kylie turned and faced him, a small smile on her face.

"You're going to be okay, Kylie. The doctors say you'll make a full recovery, plus I'm pretty sure you promised me that you'd bee here at the end of all this. I'm holding you too that."

Kylie laughs and then winces, and Leo squeezes her hand.

"That's the plan blue. I can't die yet, I'm still not a detective."

Leo chuckles before releasing her hand.

"What's the first thing you want to do when you get out of here?"

"Hmm...." Kylie thinks

"I want to grab a pizza and go to the park after dark. Hang out with my favorite turtle brothers in my favorite place."

Leo smiles at her, his blue eyes filled with joy.

"You should get some rest." Leo tells her

"Only if you do hero boy. Don't think I forgot that you literally battled some kind of alien and stopped his ship from taking over the planet."

Leo chuckles once more

"All in a day's work."

Kylie rolls her eyes at him and he smiles at her.

"Alright fine, I'll sleep if you sleep." He tells her

Kylie smiles at him before closing her eyes. He watches as not long after her breathing fall easy. Her chest rising up and down as she drifts off. Leo leans his head back and closes his eyes. And before long, his breathing matches Kylie's pace and he drifts off into a peaceful sleep.

Not long after, Donnie walks into the room, his arms filled will snacks from the vending machine. He goes to say something, but stops when he sees a sleeping Leo and Kylie. He shakes his head, but smiles before heading back to his chair.
