"Good Morning, Hermione." You greeted gleefully. Hermione smiled in return. "Good morning to you as well, (Y/n)!"
You went to the Common Room with Hermione. You took a look at the Boys' Dormitories.
"Do you think they're still asleep?" You asked your friend again while hugging your books.
"Probably. The beds are too comfy that's why." Hermione said with a giggle. "Let's go. We might be late for our first class."
You agreed before following Hermione out of the Gryffindor Common Room to your first class. You were about to arrive in the room but you stopped when you saw Draco and his posse. You noticed Hermione entering the room.
"Stark," Draco acknowledged as he stood in front of you. He was a bit taller than you so you have to look up at him. "Didn't know we have the same classes."
"Maybe not all of them." You shrugged and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear.
"It's a shame that you didn't get sorted to Slytherin. We would have been great and closer." Draco sighed. "You could have been friends with Millicent or Pansy."
You frowned. "Even if we're not in the same houses doesn't mean we can't be friends, Malfoy."
"Gryffindors and Slytherins are not seen as friends, Stark," Draco stated. "But if you wish us to be friends, we could. It's my father's wish anyway: to be friends with the Starks."
"So you just wanted me to be your friend because I'm a Stark?" You asked. "Not because you really want to?
Draco was about to speak but you heard Hermione called you. You shook your head at Draco then went inside the classroom.
You sat beside Hermione and put your book at the desk. "Sorry." You apologized.
"You were talking to Draco Malfoy?" She asked.
"Yeah."
Hermione opened her mouth to ask a question until Draco and his crew came inside the room. Crabbe sat on a different seat with a Slytherin girl while Draco and Goyle sat together just in front of you and Hermione. Hermione leaned towards you and whispered. "Did he threatened you? Mocked you? Teased you? I swear if he--"
"No, no, no." You shook your head with a smile. "I'm fine. He didn't do anything."
Hermione stared in surprise before shrugging and started scribbling some notes in her parchment paper with her quill. You glanced down at what she was writing before shrugging and taking your things out as you waited for the professor. Draco looked back at the door to check on the teacher until he noticed you taking out your quill. You caught him looking causing the boy to look and turn away.
Professor McGonagall finally came. "Good morning, children. Let's take down some notes, shall we?"
You started writing down notes along with the others after Professor McGonagall started teaching. Once she wrote some notes on the board, she transformed herself into a cat and observed you all. You and the other students suddenly heard two students rushing towards the room. Two boys entered the room and you recognized them immediately. Ron and Harry.
"Made it!" Ron exhaled in relief. "Can you imagine the look on old McGonagall's face if we were late?"
The cat jumped off from the table, transforming back to McGonagall. She approached the two boys who were in awe. "That was bloody brilliant!"
"Thank you for that assessment, Mr. Weasley." McGonagall acknowledged. "Perhaps, it'd be more useful if I were to transfigure Mr. Potter and yourself into a pocket-watch. That way, one of you might be on time." She scolded.
"We got lost," Harry replied earning a nod from Ron.
"Then perhaps a map? I trust you don't need one to find your seats."
Hermione just shook her head and rolled her eyes while you snickered a bit.

The next period class was Potions. You and your three friends sat together as you wait for the next teacher. You and your friends were talking about the two boys' tardiness.
"Did you two overslept?" Hermione asked.
"I think so." Ron sighed. "The beds were comfy and we were exhausted."
The door suddenly was swung open. All students turned around quickly to see Professor Snape. After a few seconds, you realized that he was the same professor who's staring weirdly at Harry during the Sorting Ceremony.
"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class." Snape declared. "As such, I don't expect many of you to enjoy the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few," He glanced at Malfoy, who had a smug grin on his face.
"Who possesses the predisposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even put a stopper," Snape paused for a small moment dramatically. "In death."
You looked over at Malfoy and saw his eyes widened. Many murmurs were heard around the class. You glanced at Harry, who seemed to be writing notes from what he was learning from Snape. Snape seemed to notice this as well.
Striding over, he was soon standing in front of Harry. "Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not... pay... attention."
You noticed the man's glare on Harry so you quickly, but softly, nudged at Harry who turned to you. You glanced at Professor Snape then back at Harry, giving him a clue that he noticed him not paying attention.
"Ah, Mr. Potter. Our new celebrity." The teacher monotonously teased and then began to question. "Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"
Hermione's hand shot up while yours remained down. As much as you wanted to answer, you were afraid that your answer might be wrong. Harry looked confused and shook his head, gulping.
"You don't know? Well, let's try again. Where, Mr. Potter, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?"
Once again, Hermione's hand shot up but was ignored. "I don't know. sir." Harry admitted.
"And what is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?"
Hermione's hand remained up while you and Ron looked over to Harry worriedly. Harry glanced at Hermione before shaking his head once again. "I don't know, sir."
"Pity," Snape remarked. "Clearly, fame isn't everything... is it, Mr. Potter?"
Draco smirked and looked towards Harry who glared up at the teacher. "Clearly, Hermione knows," Harry argued. "Seems a pity not to ask her."
The students giggled while you smiled at Harry's sassy statement. Harry smirked at you earning a nod from you while Draco shook his head and sneered.
"Silence." The students quickly hushed down as Snape stared at Harry in annoyance.
Snape suddenly strutted towards your shared table with your friends. Snape glanced at Hermione who still has her hand raised. "Put your hand down, silly girl!" Hermione immediately set her hand down as Snape grabbed a chair and faced Harry. "For your information, Potter... asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as Draught of Living Death."
You quietly started writing notes as Snape continued to explain. "A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons. As for monkshood and wolfsbane, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name of aconite."
Harry stared at the teacher with his eyes squinted. Snape raised an eyebrow as he looked around. "Well... why aren't you all copying this down?"
The other students flinched and immediately started writing down notes. Snape returned back to his desk and started writing down. "And Gryffindors... note that five points will be taken from your house for your classmate's cheek."
You looked around as your fellow Gryffindor students looked up in surprise. Draco glanced to your table which you didn't notice since you quickly shot your hand up. Snape stopped writing and looked towards you. "Yes, Ms. Stark?"
"Don't you think it's a bit unfair?" You asked causing students to look at you in surprise including Draco. Snape raised his eyebrow in confusion and shock. "I don't see the unfairness, Ms. Stark."
"Harry couldn't answer them right away, sir." You argued politely. "He wasn't raised here and he had no clue that magic existed. He has no knowledge about these kinds of things. So, isn't it unfair?"
The students turned their attention back to Snape who was motionless and was staring right at you. Hermione leaned over to you. "Are you okay?" She whispered.
"Kindly kill me please, Mione." You gulped.
Snape stood up and crossed his arms. "Like father like daughter." He stated. "But you got your politeness from your mother."
You and Harry glanced at each other. Snape took a deep breath and slightly nodded. "Fine. Ms. Stark's reason is acceptable. This is the only time I will accept a reasonable excuse."
Ron smiled in relief while Hermione patted your back in comfort. "See? You're fine."
"I can't feel my legs, Hermione. Am I dead?"
