it was the group's last day together at playlist. in madi and olivia's shared hotel room were: the two girls themselves, christopher, the d'amelio sisters, anthony, avani, nick, chase and a few others.

chase sat at the foot of olivia's bed as he watched everyone else leave the room, to go out to eat except olivia who was asleep. anthony reached out to wake olivia up but chase stopped his hand, "she's asleep", chase whispered.

"yeah, i can see that. wake her up so we can go out", anthony gave him a 'duh' look.

"nah, let sleep. her flight's at like 6 am. just bring her some food back", chase asked, still whispering as he tried to avoid waking her up.

"alright. you coming?", anthony was now at the door, waiting for chase and nick.

"uh.. i'll stay here. could you get me some food though, please?", chase pleaded and anthony nodded his head, "sure. nick, you coming?"

"nah, i'll stay and keep chase company. bring me something too?", nick asked.

"will do!", anthony called out as he ran to catch up with the others.

chase noticed the door hadn't closed fully so he got up from where he was sat and closed it. making his way back, he let out a sigh. "y'know you could've just gone with them, right?"

"yeah and y'know you could've gone with them too... right?", nick looked up from the chair he was sat on.

"yeah, but someone's got to look after o-our stuff"

"sure... because it's our stuff you care so much about", nick teased.

"well, what if someone broke in and... stole something?", chase crossed his arms across his chest in defence.

nick pointed at olivia, causing chase to take a glance at the girl sleeping, "surely she'd wake up and fend for herself".

"but what if she didn't wake up? there's bound to be something valuable here that either one of them has"

"well then, you can tell them that next time, they probably shouldn't bring anything valuable and precious to playlist", nick clapped his hands together, "boom. problem solved. are you sure you only wanted to look after their stuff... because it sounds like you're just making up an excuse to stay with olivia", nick raised his eyebrows as a smirk formed on his face.

chase sighed as he got comfortable on the other bed, "nick–". chase got cut off by some slight movements that came from olivia's bed.

"it's fine. you can trust me. i promise i won't tell anyone! my lips are sealed", nick mimicked the action of zipping his mouth shut. chase slightly furrowed his eyebrows. "you like her. you like olivia. fuck it! dude, you're like in love with her".

chase's eyes widened at the words 'in love', "woah. let's not throw the 'l' word around like that".

"admit it though". chase's face slightly scrunched up, "even if i did, what am i supposed to do?"

"tell her!?", nick spoke, almost as if it was obvious what chase was meant to do.

"and embarrass myself? no thank you."

"how's that gonna embarrass you?"

"cus she doesn't like me in that way", chase almost mumbled the sentence, as if to indicate that he was embarrassed.

"did she tell you that or are you just making up assumptions?", nick questioned.

"she said we should be friends for now"

"okay, she said 'for now'. not 'forever'. you'll never know if you don't at least try", nick sat up, gesticulating as he encouraged the brunette boy.
