After 5 months of dating each other ,Indra and I decided that it now time to reveal our relationship to our parents...

I sat nervously on my living room sofa, fingers fidgeting with anticipation. Today was the day we had decided to reveal our relationship to my parents. Indra has already texted that he is on the way to our house.The doorbell rang, and my heart raced as her mother went to answer it.

She called out to my that Indra had arrived, and both my mother father welcomed him warmly, offering blessings as he respectfully touched their feet.

Indra, dressed in formals and carrying sweets, exchanged glances with Srijita, silently reassuring her.

With a deep breath, Indra spoke up, addressing Srijita's parents with a mix of nervousness and determination. "Uncle, aunty, we have something important to share," he began.

Srijita stood by his side, her throat dry with anxiety, but she found strength as Indra intertwined his hand with hers.

The elderly couple's initial smiles faded, replaced by a seriousness that made Srijita's heart sink. They exchanged looks and encouraged Indra and Srijita to continue.

Indra took a deep breath and confessed, "We love each other and wish to marry."

Srijita's mother glances at her daughter, asking her silently that is it true?

She nods her head,' yes mom,I love him..I want to marry him'.

Srijita's father fixed his gaze on his daughter , his voice stern as he asked, "Since when has this been going on?"

Srijita flinches with hearing her dad's strict voice ...

Indra, with honesty in his eyes, replied, "For the past five months uncle. We are serious about this relationship, and I genuinely love her."

A tense silence hung in the air as Srijita nervously looked down.

Her parents glances at each other a knowing look.
Then, unexpectedly, her parents burst into laughter, surprising both Indra and Srijita.

Her father chuckled warmly, "I can't believe you managed to win my daughter's heart so quickly. I'm impressed, beta."

They were taken aback by the unexpected laughter from Srijita's parents.

Indra, unsure of how to interpret their reaction, tentatively asked, "Uncle, I mean..."

Srijita's father interrupted gently, his voice warm yet authoritative, "Beta, we are adults. We've long passed your age. We can see what's going on around us; we just don't always say it aloud."

His words carried a deep understanding, reassuring both Indra and Srijita that their relationship had been noticed and understood more than they had realized.

Srijita felt a mix of relief and gratitude wash over her, knowing that her parents' laughter was a sign of acceptance and support, even if they had chosen to keep their observations quiet until now.

After sharing a moment of understanding with Indra and Srijita,

Srijita's parents exchanged a look that conveyed unspoken agreement.

Srijita's mother spoke first, her eyes twinkling with affection, "We are genuinely happy for both of you. It's clear that you care deeply for each other."

Srijita's father nodded in affirmation, his expression softening, "Yes, indeed. Your happiness is what matters most to us, beta."

His words carried a warmth that eased any lingering doubts or fears Srijita and Indra might have had.Srijita felt tears welling up in her eyes, overwhelmed by the acceptance and love radiating from her parents. She exchanged a grateful glance with Indra, whose smile mirrored her own relief and joy.

Elderly couple hugged both of them in happiness..

Her dad then asked with teasing voice to Indra, 'beta one this I want tell you that my daughter is a very stubborn in nature. She always do what she wants..will be able to beat her for the entire life huhh?'

Srijita's eyes widens as she screams in top voice,' papa!!'

And all laughs with it..

Later at that night , Indra's mom and dad comes to know their relationship...and they also got very happy hearing this news..

Both of their family are really excited for their marriage ....
