the next morning, a team was sent out to try and recover the other kids from mount weather. there were a few members of the guard, arabella and bellamy, of course. octavia, clarke, abby, raven and... finn.
"i can't believe they let finn come." octavia stared at finn, daggers and anger in her eyes towards the boy.
"he's the best tracker we've got." bellamy replied to his sister, his voice sounding as though he wasn't keen on the idea of finn being there either. "don't forget to look up." he announced. "the grounders use the trees. that's how we lost john mbege."
"bad day." arabella muttered to herself.
...
the group had been traveling for a while, but it was just arabella, bellamy, and octavia. they snuck away to find a way into mount weather, of course, instructed by clarke.
"according to clarke, before the bombs there were buildings everywhere here." bellamy told the two girls. "i'm guessing some of them had access to the bunker. so we're looking for ruins, anything that's manmade, okay?"
arabella and octavia nodded, but before they could get any further, one of the guard members who were accompanying them shouted. "hey! kane!"
arabella stopped and turned around. "do not refer to me by my last name." she pulled a face of disgust.
the guard, scott, ignored her. "let's go, right now."
"i'm not sure if you've forgotten, but..." arabella smiled. "we actually aren't under your command." she let out a fake mocking gasp.
"don't make us do this the hard way." scott told them.
arabella's eyebrows rose mockingly. she stepped forward, letting out a small laugh. "the hard way? what are you gonna do? shoot marcus kane's daughter?" she asked, her voice taunting the man.
"come on, scott, forty-seven of our people are prisoners in this mountain." bellamy reminded the man.
"and that's why we're out here." scott replied.
"wrong." bellamy quickly said, barely letting scott finish his sentence. "you're out here to find other stations of the ark."
arabella turned to octavia, almost laughing when she saw her kicking rocks. octavia looked up meeting arabella's eyes, playfully narrowing her eyes at the older girl. the two girls then looked at each other in confusion when they heard scuttering from the ground, they looked down to see hundreds of bugs running in the same direction.
"we're out here to save our friends." bellamy finished.
"bell." octavia spoke wearily.
the bugs ran across arabella's shoes, making her freak out. "ew, ew, ew." she spoke, her voice high-pitched.
scott looked down in disgust. "what are they doing?" he asked.
arabella heard a screech in the distance. "running, duh?"
bellamy looked through the forest, his face dropped when he saw acid fog heading right towards them. "acid fog! we need cover! now!" he shouted to the guards. "deploy the tents! let's go!"
arabella and octavia looked at each other in worry, the acid fog was getting closer by the second. they continued to watch the beetles run but they were heading straight into what looked like a wall of moss.
"o! bella!" bellamy shouted at the girls when they rushed over to see where the beetles were going. "get back here!"
they ignored him and began removing dirt from the ground. "bell!" octavia yelled. "there's something in here! maybe it's the ruins."
they began stripping the wall of its moss, trying to find a way to open it.
"hey! hey! over here!" bellamy shouted to the guards.
arabella found a handle and began pulling on it. "i found the handle!" she shouted, victory in her tone.
she continued to pull on the handle, bellamy, and scott helping her. "come on, are you even trying!" arabella yelled, as she saw the fog getting closer and closer.
the door finally cracked open, and bellamy practically pushed octavia and arabella inside, then scott. "hey!" bellamy shouted to the guards trying to put the tents back into their packs. "quick! get inside!"
the gray-haired guard ran inside the shelter but the other guard was too late. scott tried running out to get him, but bellamy pulled the man back. "it's too late!"
arabella watched bellamy close the door, the screams of the guard still being heard. "you did tell him." arabella said to bellamy, who sent her an unimpressed look.
the group was in complete darkness, arabella pulled out a torch, and shining it around the room. "let's go." she muttered.
bellamy stood next to her also shining his torch around the room.
"where are we?" scott asked.
"looks like a garage." bellamy answered, light shining onto the assortment of cars.
"more like a tomb." octavia spoke up, looking around with concern.
bellamy turned to scott. "look, i'm sorry about your man, but we need to find an access door to mount weather."
"how did she not find one?" scott snapped, pointing at arabella. "she got out."
"actually, scott. i had to jump down a goddamn waterfall." she rolled her eyes. "and it very much hurt. but that wasn't before i had to run away from reapers, who by the way are way worse than the grounders. oh! and i had guns pointed at me like a hundred times." arabella stepped closer to the man, making him take a step back. "so if you wanna go pointing fingers trying to blame me for not finding a way in and out mount weather... i suggest you try and go through all of that then see what happens." she snapped, all the memories from mount weather rushing back. arabella clenched her jaw and walked away from the group.
"bella." she heard bellamy call out from behind her, octavia by his side. she turned around and waited for them to catch up with her. bellamy held out a handgun for her to take, she glanced at the gun before taking it. without saying a word she turned around and tried to look for a way into mount weather, which according to scott she should've already done.
...
a while had passed as the three looked for anything to indicate a way inside mount weather. arabella hadn't spoken another word to either of the siblings. she was pissed at scott and would've ended up taking it out on bellamy and octavia.
as they reached a door, there was distant shouting, then after a moment. it stopped.
the three glanced at each other and ran towards the sound, as they got closer then was a song playing, which in that situation was creepy as hell.
they crouched down beside a car, their flashlights shining around the garage.
"scott?" bellamy whispered, his gun raised. "are you there?"
they moved forward, finding guns and flashlights on the floor.
"we aren't alone." arabella muttered. "brilliant."
"what's that?" octavia asked, referring to the incredibly creepy music that was still playing.
bellamy and arabella swapped out their pistols for the rifles the guards had dropped. they looked around once more, arabella almost gagged at the sight of two men, she assumed reapers, crouched over a guard's body. blood around their mouths and his stomach practically ripped open.
"reapers." octavia spoke, her voice filled with fear.
the reapers ran towards them, arabella and bellamy didn't hesitate to shoot at them repeatedly until they dropped to the floor. but for safety measures, arabella moved closer and shot them both in the head.
"o." bellamy whispered to his sister.
"what?" she replied, glancing at bellamy.
"take this." he told her, passing her his pistol.
the three walked closer, the light shining onto another reaper, who was eating scott. bellamy clocked his gun, but octavia patted his arm.
"don't." she told him.
the reaper looked up at them, but it wasn't just a reaper. it was lincoln.
"oh, my god." arabella whispered.
"it's lincoln." octavia told him, the pain in her voice almost broke arabella's heart. "lincoln." she called out. "lincoln, it's me."
lincoln slowly rose to his feet, the look on his face terrified arabella. he slowly walked towards them. "it's octavia." she cried out.
he began running towards them. he shoved arabella to the ground, her head slamming into the concrete, then he grabbed octavia, slamming her into one of the cars. arabella hadn't moved from her position, her vision was slightly blurred and her head was pounding. she watched as lincoln stalked towards bellamy. but before he could do anything a gunshot echoed in the garage. octavia had shot him.
lincoln turned around to octavia, then bellamy slammed lincoln in the head with his gun, knocking the man to the ground.
bellamy and octavia ran to arabella, who still hadn't moved from her position.
"ow." she managed to mutter out.
"come on, bella." bellamy picked arabella up throwing her arm around his shoulder.
arabella's head felt fuzzy and she still couldn't see very well. "slow your roll, bell." she told him, her speech slurring.
"we need to get somewhere safe." he told the two girls, taking them away from lincoln.
...
the trio had settled in the back seat of one of the cars. arabella was still dizzy and she had come to realize the side of her head was actually bleeding. the side of her head that wasn't bleeding rested on bellamy's shoulder.
"he's a reaper?" octavia spoke, feeling all five stages of grief. her breathing was unsteady. "how is it even possible? he just looked right through me."
their heads shot up when they heard a noise, then lincoln came into the light.
bellamy softly shushed his little sister. his eyes on lincoln, but he was yet to see them.
"how?" octavia continued, earning lincoln's attention.
he looked at himself in the reflection of one of the cars window.
"did he see us?" she asked, fear taking over her face.
bellamy shook his head. "i don't know." he whispered. he turned his head to look at arabella, but her eyes were closed. "crap." his voice was barely audible. "bella, wake up."
"you're giving me a headache, shut up." arabella whispered, squeezing her eyes. her head was still throbbing with pain and but she didn't know if it was still bleeding or not.
lincoln snarled, dragging his hand across the window, leaving a streak of blood. then he walked away.
bellamy saw the look on octavia's face. "just listen to me. we'll get him back, i promise."
...
after a while, they finally decided to get out of the car. bellamy slowly opened the door, he and octavia climbed over arabella, then bellamy picked her up by her underarms and placed her on the ground.
"bella?" he asked her softly, moving her hair out of her face. "you okay?"
it took arabella a moment to reply to his question as she swayed. "i'm good, just a little dizzy." she replied to bellamy, using the car to help her stand up.
bellamy looked at her with concern, then turned to octavia. "she can barely stand."
octavia looked at her friend. "we can come back for her once it's safe."
"i can't leave her, o." he replied to his sister.
"i'll slow you down." arabella slurred her speech again, her voice scratchy. "just please... come back for me." she whispered, her voice pleading.
bellamy stared at arabella. she was right, she'd slow them down and she was in no condition to even be stood up right now. finally, he nodded, helping arabella back into the car. he laid her down. "stay like this and don't make a sound. i'll be back for you, sweetheart. i promise."
arabella slowly nodded, a pained look on her face. "okay." she whispered.
...
arabella muttered quietly, when she felt her body being moved, she slowly opened her eyes to see bellamy carrying her bridal style. "you came back." she smiled.
"i told you, bella. i'm never leaving you again." he told her softly. "can you stand?"
"i think so." she replied.
bellamy carefully placed her on the ground, they were still in the car garage. she swayed for a moment, before using bellamy for support. "i'm okay." she nodded to him.
"we're taking lincoln to the dropship." he told her, his arm wrapping around her waist to hold her up. "o, you grab bella. i'll grab lincoln." bellamy called out to his sister.
octavia stood up from beside lincoln's body and came over to arabella, throwing her arm across the younger girl's shoulder. bellamy rushed over to lincoln and managed to pick him up.
...
after a long while, the four made it back to the dropship. arabella was more awake now and was able to stand by herself, so octavia had helped bellamy carry lincoln into the dropship.
as soon as arabella stepped foot into their old home all the memories came rushing back. her first interactions with people she would now call her family. when she first kissed bellamy. when she thought bellamy had died. the people they had lost. tears pricked in her eyes, looking at the ashes beneath her feet.
bellamy stepped out of the dropship, his eyes instantly finding arabella's. he walked towards her, concern on his face seeing puddles in her eyes. "bella?"
she looked up at him, a single tear falling down her cheek. bellamy almost instantly wiped it away with his thumb. he didn't even need to ask her if she was okay because the look on her face said everything.
"we're gonna be okay." bellamy's hand reached out to hold her face.
arabella's eyes met his. "i hope so." she whispered.
"how's your head?" he asked, his hand still holding her face.
"hurts." arabella replied with a small smile.
"you and i are gonna head back to camp jaha, we need clarke. octavia's gonna watch over lincoln." he explained.
arabella let out a groan. "more walking?" she huffed.
bellamy's head tilted down as he smiled.
the girl smacked his shoulder. "it's not funny, bellamy. my legs hurt." she pouted playfully.
bellamy took arabella's hand and began walking out of their old camp. "how ever will you cope?"
...
arabella and bellamy had just missed abby and jaha's speech when they entered the camp. they immediately searched for clarke, upon finding herm arabella reached out for her arm, making the blonde girl turn around in surprise.
"hey, where have you guys been?" clarke asked, shaking her head. "where's octavia?"
"in the dropship. you need to come back with us right now." arabella told her.
"why? what's happened?" she asked, concern already taking over her face.
"we'll explain on the way." bellamy replied. "bring a med kit."
"meet us at raven's gate." arabella told her, before grabbing bellamy's hand and bringing him through the crowd.
...
the trio soon made it back to the dropship. bellamy had explained to clarke that lincoln was a reaper.
clarke headed up the ladder first, arabella and bellamy close behind her. the blonde placed down the med kit which had sent lincoln off. he snarled, staggering forward trying to reach them. octavia looked at arabella with sadness.
clarke on the other hand looked like she was about to have a heart attack at the sight of lincoln. arabella stepped towards her friend. "it's okay. it's okay. he's been restrained." she said softly.
lincoln growled and pulled against his restraints. "deja vu anyone?" arabella muttered.
"i can't believe we're back here again." clarke said to bellamy.
"can you help him?" octavia asked from the corner, her voice scratchy.
lincoln let out a monstrous growl, making arabella step back into bellamy.
clarke shook her head. "i don't know." there was a moment of silence, well not really since lincoln was still shouting. "i knew mount weather controlled the reapers... i had no idea they were creating them."
lincoln continued to snarl and growl.
"if they can do that to lincoln... what are they doing to our friends?" bellamy asked from behind arabella.
...
a while had passed as clarke tried to come up with a plan to help lincoln.
"clarke, how are you gonna help him if you can't even get near him?" arabella asked, almost shouting over lincoln's growls. "would you shut up!?" she snapped, looking at the man, quickly realizing her mistake. she coughed awkwardly. "i'll apologize once you are you again." the girl nodded to him.
suddenly, lincoln stopped shouting.
"oh, it worked!" arabella said cheerily.
then he began shaking.
"he's convulsing." clarke spoke.
"oh, for fuck's sake." arabella muttered to herself.
"so- so, what does it mean?" octavia asked clarke, her flashlight shining onto lincoln.
clarke looked over lincoln's body. "what happened to his leg?" she asked, noticing the blood seeping through his clothing.
octavia was silent for a moment, hurt flashing across her face. "i shot him." she admitted.
"clarke, he's lost a lot of blood." bellamy told her.
arabella's headache had come back, and she squeezed her eyes shut, trying to numb the pain. "i'll- i'll be back in a minute." the girl muttered, heading down the ladder.
she stepped out of the dropship, and after a few moments, darkness took over her vision and she collapsed to the floor.
...
after lincoln's attack, bellamy was concerned arabella hadn't come back yet. he rushed down the dropship ladder and ran outside to see the girl unconscious on the ground.
"arabella?" he panicked, instantly running to her side. "bella? sweetheart wake up for me." he softly shook her body, his fingers went to her neck and he felt her pulse. "hey, wake up."
arabella felt her body being shaken, her eyebrows scrunched together as her eyes slowly opened. "bell?" she groaned.
bellamy's hands held arabella's face. "hey, what happened?"
"my head started hurting." she breathed out. "i came for some air and i woke up."
bellamy slowly sat the girl up, moving the hair from her face. arabella looked at him, seeing a large bruise forming on his cheek. "what happened?"
"lincoln broke the chains and attacked us. he's tied down again, clarke's looking at his leg right now." bellamy explained. "do you think you can stand? i don't want you passing out again when i'm not there."
arabella nodded, using bellamy to help her stand they slowly walked back into the dropship and back up the ladder. arabella instantly slumped herself against the wall.
"clarke, you need to check arabella's head once you get that bullet out." bellamy told clarke, the concern in his voice making arabella glance at him.
"ignore him, i'm fine." arabella spoke to clarke.
"no, she's not. i just found her passed out outside. again." bellamy sent arabella a look.
"both of you." clarke looked between the couple. "shut up."
"but-" bellamy tried to speak.
"she said shut up." arabella told him, making him send her another look of annoyance.
octavia tried to give lincoln some water, but he spat it out shaking his head, making octavia drop the small canister. the young girl jumped back when lincoln began growling again.
"i'll get some more." octavia fumbled with the canister, quickly standing up to leave.
"o." bellamy stopped the girl. "once the drug is out of his system, he'll be okay."
"you can't protect me from this one, big brother." octavia told him, pain in her eyes at the sight of lincoln in the state he was in. she headed down the ladder of the dropship without another word.
clarke went to remove the bullet from lincoln's leg, his screams echoing throughout the dropship. bellamy holding the large man down as he thrashed beneath the restraints, clarke finally got the bullet out and wrapped up lincoln's leg.
"your mom would be proud of you, blondie." arabella spoke from the wall she was still slumped against.
clarke sent the girl a smile. "thanks, ella. but... my mom would know how to save him."
clarke moved over to arabella to check her head but arabella kept moving away. "i'm fine, clarke. bellamy just worries too much."
bellamy crossed his arms over his chest. "bella, you passed out. three times! clarke, check her head."
arabella rolled her eyes. "don't speak to me that way."
clarke looked at arabella's head, only seeing the cut from before, she felt the area to just feel a lump. "you know, the way you too argue you'd think you were an old married couple."
"i'm about to be a widow in a minute." arabella grumbled, sending bellamy a look.
clarke rolled her eyes. "your head itself looks fine aside from a cut and bump. you're just still concussed."
"told you i was fine." arabella shot to bellamy.
bellamy pursed his lips at the girl, who sent him a smile.
then, octavia opened the hatch her eyes immediately going to lincoln. someone came up behind her, a grounder by the looks of it. bellamy ran for his gun, aiming it at the grounder.
"bellamy! chill out, put the gun down!" arabella stood up, using the wall for support.
octavia's body covered the grounder. "don't! he's lincoln's friend and their healer."
suddenly, lincoln began convulsing on the floor again. "he's seizing again." clarke spoke.
arabella stumbled over to bellamy, she faced him as she lowered his gun. "no more death." the girl whispered to him. bellamy's eyes told the grounder to go to lincoln.
the grounder placed down a sheet full of vials, looking for one that would possibly help.
arabella looked at bellamy, her hand reaching to hold his face. "sorry for being a bitch." she muttered.
the man pulled her close, planting a kiss on her head.
"what is that?" the two heard clarke ask.
the grounder moved the vial close to lincoln's foaming mouth. "yu gonplei ste odon." the grounder spoke.
arabella and clarke instantly looked at each other, they had heard those words before when anya died. as the drop from the vial fell clarke caught it in her hand. "wait!"
the grounder pulled out his knife and bellamy instantly raised his gun again. "back off. right now!" he yelled, moving arabella behind him.
arabella rolled her eyes and stood next to clarke. "yu gonplei ste odon." the brunette girl repeated. "that's almost the same thing anya said before she died." she turned to face the grounder. "it's what they say before death. you were trying to kill him!"
the grounder looked at arabella furiously. her hand was at her waist ready to pull out her gun. she tilted her head at the man.
