arabella kane. many people are scared of the seventeen-year-old girl. they claimed she was evil and vicious, but she wasn't always like that. her mother was floated when she was eleven years old. arabella was extremely sick and the ark hadn't given isobel enough medicine for her daughter, so she stole some. but the older woman got caught and was sentenced to death.

arabella had to watch her mother get floated by her father, marcus kane. after her mother's death, arabella began to commit crimes at the young age of twelve years old, they were small minor crimes at first like theft and vandalism, but then as the girl got older she began stealing drugs and attacking guards, which got her arrested and get locked up in the skybox at the age of 16, with her now best friend, john murphy.

"john murphy if you don't shut the hell up i'm gonna beat your ass!" arabella shouted to her best friend who was ranting about how she had one day until she was going to be floated. "i know they're gonna float me, okay? please stop reminding me."

"i know bella." john murphy was the only person who called arabella, bella, aside from her parents. "i just can't lose you, you're my best friend." murphy answered back, sitting next to the girl who was sitting on her bed.

"murphy, it'll be okay i promise you. who knows maybe they'll let me live," she spoke softly, wrapping her arms around john's torso.

"yeah, because they'll excuse you for almost killing two guards." he joked, holding onto the girl.

"those guards were weak as shit." arabella laughed. "even you could've taken them on, and that's saying something for sure."

"shut up, bella."

the two sat in silence for a while until they heard banging and shouting on the other side of the cell door, two guards burst into the cell. "prisoner 2-8-4 and 2-3-7 both of you to the wall now!" one of the guards shouted pointing to the back wall. arabella and murphy shot up from the bed, the boy stood protectively in front of the girl.

"look she's not eighteen till tomorrow she still has the rest of today." he panicked grabbing arabella's hand.

"murphy it's okay. just do as they say" arabella whispered to him, she walked over to the back wall, murphy following behind. the guards roughly pulled the two apart and one of the guards attached a metal wristband to the boy's right wrist and then dragged him out of the door.

"murphy! no please, please don't hurt him!" she screamed trying to escape the guard's grip. he grabbed a wristband and forcefully attached it to arabella's wrist. she groaned in pain feeling the small spikes dig into her skin.

"get off me!" arabella shouted, kicking the guard's knee, making him let go of her. she ran out of the cell door to see other delinquents being taken out of their cells, arabella turned round to see her father standing a few meters away from her, tears began to form in her dull eyes that once sparkled. "dad? what- what's going to happen to us?" arabella stuttered staring at her father, who couldn't even look her in the eye.

marcus walked over to his daughter and pulled her into a hug, at first arabella was surprised but eventually hugged him back. "you're going to earth, bella. all one hundred of you." he calmly whispered to her, arabella immediately pulled away.

"but it's not safe." arabella paused. "we'll all die from the radiation." she panicked as two guards walked up behind her. "you're going to send your daughter to the ground not knowing if she'll survive or not?" arabella panicked. her father just looked at the floor.

"you're killing me like you killed mom! you son of a bitch!" arabella screamed, lunging at her dad. the man took a step back and nodded at the two guards behind arabella. "i hate you!"

the guards grabbed arabella and dragged her towards the dropship. she put up one hell of a fight, but these two guards were very strong.

"i've got her from here." a voice spoke from beside one of the guards.

"you sure? she's feisty as hell, man." one of the guards spoke, his grip tightening on arabella who let out a sharp wince.

the other guard nodded. "i can handle her."

"alright, man." the guard to arabella's left spoke.

the guards shoved arabella to the ground, both of them chuckling as they walked away. "assholes!" she yelled, picking herself up.

the guard softly reached for her arm and guided her to a seat on the dropship, he sat her down and strapped her in. arabella just stared at the guard who was being surprisingly gentle with her. she took in his features, his hair was slicked back and freckles were scattered across his face. he smirked when he noticed her staring, arabella scoffed and tried to hide the small smile appearing on her lips.

five minutes had passed and all of the hundred were in the dropship, then one last person sat in the seat next to arabella, she looked at the person and it was the guard who strapped her into the seat. "come to see me again, huh?" arabella joked.

"i just couldn't resist." he replied dramatically.

suddenly, there was a large shake, the dropship was on its way to earth with one hundred delinquents inside it. shortly after there was another large shake this time small screams were heard and the lights flickered, they had entered the atmosphere and a tv was turned on, and then chancellor jaha appeared on the screen.

"prisoners of the ark, hear me now. you've been given a second chance, and as your chancellor, it is my hope that you see this as, not just a chance for you but a chance for all of us, indeed for mankind itself. we have no idea what is waiting for you down there, if the odds of survival were better we would have sent others, frankly, we're sending you because your crimes have made you expendable." the chancellor spoke.

arabella looked to the guard again "since we are most likely about to die i'm gonna introduce myself. hi, i'm arabella kane, i will be eighteen tomorrow which is also the day i was going to be floated." she smiled sweetly at him.

the guard's eyes widened slightly. "marcus-"

"yes i'm marcus kane's daughter and no i'm not proud of it." arabella rolled her eyes.

"i'm bellamy." he sent arabella a smile

"cute." arabella nodded at the man.

the dropship was violently shaking, arabella groaned when she smacked her head on the back of her seat. the dropship shook once more when it landed on the ground.

"bellamy? oh my god are we dead?" arabella panicked looking over to bellamy who shook his head laughing softly at the girl who was in a slight panic.

"we made it to earth, sweetheart." he smiled as his seatbelt unbuckled, then helped arabella out of her seat, thankfully they were on the bottom floor of the dropship so they were close to the large metal door that would eventually reveal the ground.

everyone began to panic at the fact they didn't know if they were going to live or not.

"hey, just back it up guys." bellamy stepped forward slightly pushing people back away from him and arabella.

then clarke griffin climbed down the ladder "stop!" she exclaimed dropping off the ladder and walking over to bellamy and arabella. "the air could be toxic."

"clarke!?" arabella's jaw dropped.

"if the air was toxic we're all dead anyway." bellamy answered back to her.

"bellamy?" a small voice called from the ladder of the dropship.

the girl made her through the crowd to bellamy.

"oh my god, look how big you are." bellamy smiled at the younger girl.

she immediately hugged Bellamy then pulled away when she noticed a guard's uniform. "what the hell are you wearing? a guard's uniform?" she asked slightly disgusted.

"i borrowed it, to get on the dropship. someones's gotta keep an eye on you." he smiled at the girl.

she hugged him again then clarke interrupted their moment "wheres your wristband?" she asked bellamy.

"clarke, don't be rude." arabella whispered loudly to her old friend, clarke just shot the girl a look, making arabella raise her hands in defence.

"do you mind? i haven't seen my brother in a year." the girl turned round to clarke.

"no one has a brother." someone shouted from the crowd.

"that's octavia blake! the girl they found hidden under the floor." a girl shouted.

octavia tried to lunge into the crowd but bellamy held her back.

"octavia. octavia no." bellamy held her.

"how about you shut the hell up before I beat all your asses?" arabella shouted to where the voices came from, and everyone slowly went silent. "that's what i thought." she muttered loudly. "assholes."

octavia sent a grateful smile to arabella, which she returned with a nod

"let's give them something else to remember you by." bellamy calmed his sister.

"yeah? like what?" octavia angrily replied.

"like being the first person on the ground in one hundred years." he smiled at his younger sister, whose face lit up.

"ninety-seven actually." arabella awkwardly coughed, almost laughing at the look bellamy sent her.

the siblings stood next to the lever, bellamy pulled the lever opening the door which let in a very bright light to which arabella covered her eyes.

arabella's jaw dropped when she saw the beauty of the ground, the trees were tall and full of life, the plants a bright green. octavia stepped out of the dropship taking in a deep breath and stepping off the platform.

"we're back bitches!" octavia screamed throwing her arms in the air.

the delinquents all began to cheer as they all left the dropship. arabella stood next to bellamy. "you know? your sister is pretty badass." she grinned nudging bellamy.

"go have some fun gorgeous," bellamy smirked looking down at arabella

"you know i'm kinda loving these nicknames, 'bell'." she giggled as she ran with all the other delinquents.

arabella was walking through a forest when she felt arms wrap around her waist, she let out a squeal but she then realized it was murphy.

"murphy! oh my god, you're okay!" arabella laughed with relief hugging him back tightly.

"i'm alright bella, we are alright." murphy mumbled into her hair.

"i wanna see if anyone else is dead yet, lets's go!" arabella joked dragging murphy back to where the dropship was.
