Chapter 4
CHAPTER 4
Kayla was having a conversation with Kol when Elijah sent her a look that clearly said 'Pay Attention'. She almost grinned like a maniac. She knew something was up, that something was going to happen.
"What I'd like to know, Elijah, is how do you intend on killing Klaus?" John asked. Kayla glared at the man, she never liked him.
"Killing my brother? That's a quick turn." Kol hummed in amusement.
"Gentlemen, there's a few things we should probably get clear right now. I allow you to live solely to keep on eye on Elena. I allow Elena to remain in her house living her life with her friends as she does as a courtesy. If you become a liability, I'll take her away from you and you'll never see her again." Elijah stated calmly, but Kayla could tell he meant it.
Andie came back with a notebook, and Kayla started wondering what she missed. "Ok. My first question is when you got here to Mystic..." Andie began.
Before she could get far, Alaric stabbed a dagger through Elijah's heart, making everyone but Kayla gasp. "I'm impressed." she grinned in amusement, knowing they forgot to leave the dagger in.
"Now, get rid of him before Jenna comes back with dessert." Alaric demanded, after sending a weird look in the brunettes direction.
"All right." Damon said.
Kayla had been out of the loop ever since she got back. No one trusted her anymore, especially when they found out she was Elijah's 'family'.
"Don't pout darling, soon Klaus will be here. Then you can give him a few punches." Kol said sadistically.
"When you're out, you can give him some on your own." Kayla retorted. She had heard Katherine had gotten out of the tomb, and was kind of sad she didn't come visit her.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Nik has her already." Kol mused.
Klaus/Alaric opened his closet and took two shirts out, he instantly scowled at what he sees. "Oh! Who is this guy, Safari Sam?" he exclaimed jokingly.
He turned to face Katherine, who was tied to a chair. Her face was fearful as she looked at him.
"Ok, bad, or badder?" he asked
"The dark colors suit you better." Katherine replied, trying to appear confident.
"Oh, thank you, honey. Ok, pop quiz. The dagger and white ash are in the Salvatore's possession, correct?" Klaus/Alaric asked as he put one of the shirts back, and started putting the other on.
"The dagger was used to kill Elijah. You'll find him in the basement of the Salvatore house." Katherine said.
"Ok, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is. The last thing I need to do is resurrect Elijah. Ohh, that guy is a buzz kill." Klaus/Alaric exclaimed.
"Don't forget you're on the outs with your girlfriend Jenna." Katherine reminded him in a bored tone.
"Right. Elena's aunt. For all the lies about Isobel. What else?" Klaus/Alaric asked as he glared at Katherine.
"That's it." Katherine said, but Klaus/Alaric noticed the waver in her voice. He slowly came forward and touched her face. Katherine eyes shone pure fear as she flinched away from his touch.
"Oh, so jumpy." he said amused.
"Please, just... kill me. I've told you everything that I know." Katherine begged, making Klaus/Alaric even more amused.
"You see, I believe that you believe that but what would you not know? What could they be keeping from you? Hmm? Anything? Tell me." Klaus/Alaric compelled her.
"They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Original without a dagger. They were also talking about using Kayla Forbes as leverage." Katherine said in a monotone voice.
"Bonnie the best friend? I thought you said she didn't have her powers anymore. Plus, what's so special about Kayla?" Klaus/Alaric said in a menacing tone.
"She doesn't or didn't. I don't know. You kidnapped me, remember? I'm kinda out of the loop. Kayla is Kol's soulmate." Katherine rushed out.
"Well, we'll have to get to the bottom of that. As for Kayla, she'll be joining us later." Klaus/Alaric smirked.
"Please, just kill me, Klaus, and be done with it." she begged as tears threatened to fall.
"And show you kindness? I've searched for you for over 500 years. Your death is going to last at least half that long." Klaus/Alaric sneered. He pulled a knife out of he pocket, handed it to her, and began to compel her. "I want you to take this knife... And stab yourself."
Katherine took the knife and stabbed her thigh. She winced from the pain and held in a cry.
"Now take it out." he demanded.
She took the knife out and the wound healed. "Now while I'm gone, I want you to do that over and over and over again and if you get bored, switch legs." Klaus/Alaric said with a sadistic smile
"Where are you going?" Katherine asked him as he got ready to leave.
"I'm gonna go lay eyes on my precious doppelganger." he smirked and kissed her forehead.
"Oh, don't look so glum, Katerina. The fun is just beginning." As he walked out the door he yelled. "Again, please."
Katherine once again stabbed herself with the knife.
Kayla walked into school with a scowl on her face. Without Elijah, the only person she was talking to was Kol. She knew she had a meeting with Alaric today, but he was apart of Elena's little group.
She walked into Alaric's classroom, and took a seat just as the bell rang. A few minutes later he walked into the classroom.
Kayla rolled her eyes when he stared at Elena a little longer than usual. "Why are they all so concerned anyways. They should just hand her over to Klaus and be done with it." she complained to Kol.
"Hello, class. Are we learning today?" Klaus/Alaric asked. Kayla looked at him oddly, getting the same feeling she had with Elijah coming from him. She shrugged it off and decided it was nothing.
"With the decade dance tonight, we've been covering the sixties all week." Dana said enthusiastically.
"Right. The sixties." Alaric/Klaus said, he stopped for a second and looked at Elena once again. "The, uh, ahem..." he started writing on the board.
"My brother makes a terrible teacher!" Kol laughed.
"Brother?" Kayla asked confused.
"The sixties. I wish there was something good I could say about the sixties, but... Actually, they kind of sucked. Except for the Beatles, of course. They made it bearable. Uh, what else was there? The Cuban missile thing, the... we walked on the moon. There was Watergate." Klaus/Alaric rambled.
Kayla shot him an amused look as he looked at her curiously.
"Watergate was the seventies, Ric. I-I mean, Mr. Saltzman." Elena said, making Kayla glare at her with hate.
"I don't like doppelgangers." Kayla hissed.
Kol smirked. "She'll be dead soon darling."
"Right. It all kind of mushes together up here, the sixties, seventies. Thank you, Elena." Klaus/Alaric stated, forcing Kayla to look away from Elena.
Kayla stayed after class and smirked at Klaus/Alaric as she walked to his desk where he sat. He looked at her annoyed, but quickly covered it up. "What do you need?" he asked.
Kayla shot him a look. "Just because Elena and her little group hate me for breaking Damon's heart, doesn't mean you can hate me. Besides, you guys can't hate me for having a soulmate either." she hissed at him.
She stood up and started walking out the door, but was stopped when Klaus/Alaric grabbed her elbow. She turned and glared at him as Kol made his presence known, making her eyes turn a dark brown.
She yanked her arm away. "Don't touch me."
It was only then did she see Klaus/Alaric smirking. Kayla looked at him curiously. She then remembered what Kol said earlier. "This is Klaus, isn't it?" she asked slowly.
"Ding ding ding! We have a winner!" Kol shouted.
A small smile appeared on her face at Kol's words. He had picked up on some things over the years. Klaus/Alaric looked at her curiously, but before he could ask, Kayla punched him in the gut and smirked sadistically.
"Kol asked me too. Besides, I get to cross two things off my bucket list. Punching Klaus and Punching A Teacher." she mused.
Klaus/Alaric groaned and glared at her. When he finally caught his breath again, he smiled at the girl. "You're coming with me."
