「 Prologue - Pilot 」

• Years.. Years ago, a certain demon ended up in hell. A demon who was an assassin in their lifetime. And in the span of just their first days in hell, they managed to kill off some of the most powerful and cruelest overlords in hell.

Most of the overlords would kill just to take a hold of their soul, or strike a deal with them.

But.. no one ever managed to or even had the chance to. No one knew a thing about them, or what was their goal. All that was known about them, is that they would grant freedom to the demons who gave up their own souls for them in a deal.

From that, they started to get called the 'demon of freedom.'

"H..Happy Hotel..?" You whispered to yourself, watching the television in theclub you were currently at. "What a bunch'a bullshit." You heard your friend say from beside you, as she turned the TV off.

"Say sugar, you aren't thinkin' that what the princess said is actually possible, are ya?" The singer said, staring at you with the knowing-look. "Whaaat? Obviously nott.." you shook your hand dismissively at her, while she in response only raised her eyebrow, smirking.

"Yeah, alright, a little." You admitted, sighing. She chuckled and then placed a hand on your shoulder. "[Nickname], getting redeemed ain't possible.. if it were, we'd all know by now." you listened to her reasoning, gazing at the glass of vodka you were holding.

"But Mimz, no one tried before. I.. what if it IS possible? What if I could become a better person?" You said determined, while she stared at you baffled.

"Darlin'.. are you outta your mind? You? Become a better person? Don't make me laugh! You're a murderer, [Y/n], in no way could you redeem yourself." She laughed as she wrapped her arm around your shoulder, making you laugh awkwardly along side her.

"Haha.. yeah.." you mumbled, looking to the side. "Plus, if you'd left me for some stupid hotel, who knows what would happen to your ol' pal Mimzy without ya around!" She said dramatically, placing the back of her wrist against her forehead.

"Ever since Alastor left, I've been getting into more trouble, ya know that, don'cha?" She said as you sighed and nodded.

"But.. still.." you lifted the glass to your lips and drank it in one-go, before standing up, surprising Mimzy. "W-wait, sugar, where ya goin' so soon? Don't you wanna wait for my show that I have later?" She said nervously, hoping that would convince you to stay.

"Don't worry Mimz, I just want to check out the hotel. I'm pretty.. curious about it to say the least. And you'll be fine on your own, if something, I'll be staying at the hotel, or I'll come back if it is indeed nonsense." You finished and then waved to her as you left, dragging the angelic spear that you've found right after the extermination with you.

• While on your walk towards the hotel, you stared at the sidewalk in front of you as Mimzy's words replayed in your head. What if it was a mistake coming here..? What if your friend was right? What if there really isn't a chance of you getting redeemed..? What if-

Your thoughts got suddenly interrupted by a loud explosion and a red smoke appearing in the sky, near the happy hotel. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, as you wondered if it came from somewhere near the hotel.

When standing in front of the hotel, you looked up at the logo, staring at it confused. "Hazbin.. hotel? I swear it was happy hotel.." you muttered to yourself, squinting your eyes to get a better look at it, thinking your eyes were playing a trick on you. When you realised that you were reading it right, you shrugged your shoulders as you continued into the hotel.

You noticed that one of walls had a huge hole that seemed fresh, as you mentally cringed at the state the hotel was in.

After you straightened your posture, you knocked on the door few times, waiting for someone to open. After minutes of waiting and many times of knocking, you decided to invite yourself in.

"Helllooo-?" You said to no one in particular. You looked around yourself as you closed the door behind you, which let out a loud creak.

You then walked in, looking at various of portraits of the princess of hell and her family, while you held the spear close to you.

Right when you stopped in your tracks to admire one of the portraits, a spear was pointed right at your throat, making you drop your own in shock and raise your hands in surrender.

"Who are you and why are you here. Explain yourself." A woman spat out, glaring daggers at you. Your eyes widened, as you looked the woman up and down, and then noticed the 'x' on her eye, and examined her spear.

"That's a very pleasant and a hot greeting, sweetie. Though, I didn't expect an angel at the hotel.." you mumbled the second sentence to yourself as the woman's eyes widened in shock when she heard you, as she pressed her spear further to your throat.

"How did you know that-!? Who sent you?!" She started throwing questions at you, while the the edge of the spear cut through your skin when she added more force, making blood drip from the new wound. You suddenly started to hear footsteps, and then heard a loud gasp.

"Vaggie! What are you doing?" A woman said, making Vaggie drop her weapon immediately and then look at her.

"Charlie! This person just burst in here and planned on attacking us! They wield a spear!" She said as she pointed to the demon, who just stared at the duo awkwardly, waving. Louder footsteps were heard, as more people were on their way to see what was happening.

"Ohohoho! Well have a look at that! [Y/n]! The most famous assassin demon of hell, and one of my dearest friends!" You froze once you heard that all-familiar radio voice, as you shifted your attention to the red deer-demon in front of you.

"...Al-?" You asked, baffled, while his grin just got wider at your confusion. "I.. what.. what are you doing here? After all those years-" you stopped when you noticed he spread out his arms for you, tilting his head to the side while his smile seemed almost genuine this time. Almost.

You hesitated but then wrapped your arms around him, as he caged you with his arms, resting his head on top of yours.

"Where the hell have you been?? And-" "My, my. Too many questions! That's for later! And..you owe an explanation to our dear hotel residents."

You broke the hug as you then looked at the others, embarrassed. "Speak." Vaggie demanded, glaring at you.

"Alright, I think we're a little.. overdramatising this? But I came here for redemption. I was at a club and saw you on TV, singing all about getting redemption and stuff, and decided to give it a shot.. and..-" you went on a ramble as you tried to explain yourself and what happened.

"And as for the spear- I bring it with me everywhere I go. Or well, any kind of weapon. It makes me feel safe in some sense." You explained, and then Charlie squeeled as she wrapped her arms around you, spinning you around.

"Yesss!! We have an official second guest staying here! Progress!" She said excitedly as she let go of you, while you stared at the princess dumbfounded, but returned her enthusiasm either way.

You then felt someone climb on you, as you grabbed the little demon and lifted her in front of you. "Niftyy, how have you been?" You said with a smile as you held her under her arm pits in the air, making her in return grin at you. "[Y/n]!" She screamed excitedly as she wiggled her self out of your hold and then hugged you around your [legs/waist].

"Have you been keeping good hygiene like I told you to? Ohhh you smell nice! Did you buy those clothes yesterday? They seem new. Ohhh you need to tell me everything that happened after we last saw eachother! Oh! Oh! Can I show you around the hotel here? I'm like basically the maid around here so I already know every single place here!" She excitedly rambled on like a child, while you chuckled at the amount of energy this woman had.

She was then shoved out of the way by a tall slender white spider-demon, who wrapped one of his arms around your shoulder.

"Hey hun, the name's Angel Dust. If you tryin' to get to Heaven.. one visit to my room and I can assure you, I'll get both of us ascend to Heaven.." He sent a wink your way, as you internally cringed at the flirting.

"Haha! Not a chance!" Alastor interrupted the two of you, as the radio demon pushed you forward gently, ignoring the other's protests. "Now.. me and my dear friend only need to have a conversation.. in private. And I'd like to show them around, hm?" He said as he led the two of you upstairs.

[A/n] - mhm, yes, I started a new fanfic and I think I started it HORRIBLY. 💔

The introductions were so awkward I'm sosorry, also I apologise if the characters are a little bit.. OOC, I promise they'll be in more character once I learn how to write them.. AND I PROMISE THE NEXT CHAPTERS WILL BE BETTER 🙏

I'll also need to like.. think about [Y/n]'s lore more and like how they met Vox, Mimzy, Alastor, Nifty and Husk ( the characters that they have known before :3 ) so the updates might be a bit slower, since I'm bad at making up chapters on my own that do not follow the show.

Also, the reader is gn/non-binary, and I'm considering if I should make Angel Dust and Vaggie love interests or just platonic interests, since Angel's gay and Vaggie a lesbian ( Charlie and Vaggie are just best friends in this fanfic, sorry y'all :(.. - biggest Chaggie shipper ever ) since the reader's gender isn't neither a guy or a girl, and I try to write them not acting as one so I apologise if they are. But yeah, the reader's gender is mostly for you to decide since it should be you.

But since you can imagine reader as a guy,that would make Vaggie as a love interest weird, and on the opposite, if you'd imagine the reader as a girl then that'd be weird to have Angel Dust as a love interest. AND UGHH I'M STRUGGLING BECAUSE THE ACTUAL [Y/N]'S GENDER IS NON-BINARY AND THAT STILL FALLS UNDER THE LESBIAN AND GAY LIKE ATTRACTION OR HOW TO SAY ITT...
