Think there are also many normal sad moments in life that inspire change. Everyone has had big life changes. Everyone has lost a loved one or moved away from friends. Monsters in your head isn't only mental illness.

All people in your life are inside your head, including that horrible things at work. Then maybe you come to the realization you can move past that monster and that monster doesn't have to live in your thoughts. That might also mean you realize you can move on to a different job.

There are many relationships and places in life you can be where it's time for a change. Say you spend too much time on your career and put other things aside, so you decide to change that and be more like you used to be, spend more time with friends or getting out in the world.

You can be the king again and make those decisions. There is both sadness and joy in that kind of realization.
