Natsu Dragneel x OC | New Years Kiss
Tori looked around Magnolia happily. Another year was drawing to a close and she couldn't be happier quite frankly. Though it definitely wasn't because the year was bad. In all honesty, it was actually to the opposite. This past year had been one of the happiest of the blonde's life. Sure, it had its ups and downs, every day was chock full of them after all.
But, the downs were definitely worth the ups. A smile lit itself in her bright blue eyes as she recalled the past three hundred sixty-five days she had spent at the Fairy Tail Guild. It certainly had been eventful that was sure. Each day was almost like a tornado, both rapidly moving along and both dangerous. Then again though, it paid off. Tori spent each tornado like day doing what she loved, with people she could easily call family at this point. That, was well worth the craziness and the lethalness her job offered as well.
After all, it seemed impossible for the happy girl to deny a request for help for that was what she loved to do. She loved to not only help others but be able to see how she was helping. That was the whole foundation for her joining Fairy Tail. That was her only wish up until that point. The wish that anyone in trouble would be helped.
As for the people though, well that was a bit of a different question. You see, despite her bright personality, Tori hadn't really been very popular among people. It wasn't that she was hated either though. She was just sorta, there. It seemed wherever she went as a kid, she was just reduced to being a wallflower. Then, it changed when she came to Fairy Tail. Instead of ignoring her, or including her every so often, she was almost constantly talking with someone. The second she was introduced to the guild, was the second she had been taken into a family. A family, that refused to let her be. And that wasn't necessarily a bad thing for once. Instead, they expanded her horizon if you would. They made her be able to see what the world really had to offer. But, there was one person who did so more than anything.
Tori blinked, her eyes landing on the person who had changed her life so much. She smiled and looked at him. Her blue orbs never strayed from his black eyes. He smiled at her from where he stood atop the set of stairs, his pink hair illuminated by the lights around the two. The two stood there for a while before his smile grew into a closed-eye grin. "Whatcha waiting for Tori! Let's chow down already, I'm starving!" He cheered. The girl laughed and nodded, racing up the stairs to reach the dragon slayer. This man, he was the one who had brought her out of her old self. He was the one who changed her outtake on the world. He, as Natsu Dragneel, Fire Dragon Slayer and apprentice of the dragon named Igneel. To Tori, he was someone who could never be replaced in her life.
Natsu looked down at the girl as she soon held onto his arm with a smile. Never before did he think someone would seem so amazing to him like this. He never even thought of anyone in the way he now usually did for Tori, not even with Lucy. He smiled and the two made their way to some of the food stands nearby. He watched with amusement as the girl readily ate whatever Natsu gave her, most of the time.
The other remaining times were those when she promptly gave it back to Natsu or merely gave it to the occasional passing Happy. He chuckled, having seen a piece of a fallen flower fall into Tori's hair unknown by Tori herself. The girl looked at Natsu, confusion in her blue eyes. He smiled and picked up the flower from the top of her head, soon putting it behind her ear instead.
Tori blushed slightly as a response, raising her hand to try to figure out what Natsu did. Natsu smiled again and started to led her off into another part of Magnolia. Soon the clock would be striking twelve, and son the town would erupt into noise and cheers as everyone celebrated. He didn't want to miss the most exciting part though. If there was anything he loved more than food on this night, it would be the fireworks they set off at twelve o'clock. Though, there was admittingly something else he had hoped to do around then as well.
Due to hanging out around the other members of Team Natsu a lot recently, Natsu had learned of an old tradition someone had made up. This tradition was apparently supposed to be a person good luck in their relationships, and well, Natsu wanted to test it out. Though, he knew he couldn't test it out on just anybody. He wanted to test it out on somebody he already liked a whole lot. The clock ticked closer and closer to the awaited time and Natsu led Tori up to an empty rooftop where a blanket laid on the floor.
Tori looked over at Natsu in confusion. He turned to her, still smiling and sat her down on the blanket. Soon joining the blonde, the pink haired man realized just how nervous he was for this. "Natsu, what's going on? I would've thought you would want to spend this moment with everyone from the guild," Tori commented, looking at the side of Natsu's face. Natsu gave a short chuckle. "Maybe, but I wanted to try something this time round." He answered, dodging the question a bit. Tori furrowed her brow in confusion, but her face soon relaxed into a bright smile as she stared at the clock in anticipation. There were only five minutes left before midnight. "Hey Tori?" "Yeah Natsu?" Tori's blue eyes locked with Natsu's for what felt like the hundredth time since the evening began.
Four
"I, I wanted to tell you something tonight as well," Natsu admitted, having stumbled over the first part of his sentence.
Three
"Oh yeah? Well what would that be?" Tori responded, confusion marking her features yet again.
Two
Natsu looked down at his fingers. His palms felt clammy, his heart was racing, and he was nervous as anything, but he wasn't backing down from this one, not a chance. He placed a hand behind Tori's head and brought his face close to her's.
One
"I like you, a lot," He admitted, his face turning a light shade of pink. Tori's blue eyes widened, her face turning the same shade as Natsu's hair.
Zero
At the exact moment the clock struck twelve, the town of Magnolia erupted in noise just as Natsu said it would. The streets bustled with cheers and well-wishing's, the sky light up with fireworks. But at the moment, on a forgotten rooftop, Tori and Natsu exchanged their first kiss. A kiss neither of them would want any other way. A kiss, that made this past year complete, and the same kiss that would make the next year even better.
