Gray Fullbuster x OC x Natsu Dragneel | Love Triangle
Natsu and Gray stood around the cot in the empty hall, watching the person who laid there in worry. It had been nearly three hours since someone found her like this and she had still yet to wake up. Gray sigh, stressed out by the situation. "She must've been through quite a lot to end up like this." He commented, more to himself then to the other wizard. Nonetheless Natsu nodded silently in reply, for once having nothing to say to the ice mage. The girl laying before them had always been a close friend to both boys.
During their childhood, she was quite possibly one of the few things that kept either one from quitting because of the other. Her name, was Yin-Yin. However, these boys more commonly knew of her as simply, Yin. The three had truly known each other for quite a long time, but things started to change a few months ago. Not in a bad way per say, but, it was certainly awkward for them if the three were alone together.
You see, the feelings of friendship they once mutually shared had begun to change. They had begun, to mutate into deeper feelings. To be honest there though, they didn't quite known what to do at first. For a while. no one really said anything when the three were left to their own devices. To them, it just seemed too awkward to even try. Commonly, Yin-Yin had then formed her own way of dealing with each boy.
For Natsu, she would shy away. As for Gray, well he was the person to which Yin just decided to put on a more tough appearance on, making her a bit of a tsundere towards the blue-haired wizard. At first, neither boy could figure out heads or tails of the situation. In fact, not even both combined could figure it out. It took them sitting down in the guild, and having Levy listen to the situation. The blue-haired girl had understood it but a couple of mere moments.
However, it was then that the boy's feelings towards each other took a turn for the words. Sure, they were always at each other's throats, but they still kept the other under the title friend. This changed that quite a bit. After all neither boy wanted to lose Yin-Yin, especially to the other. Before they knew it though, it seemed that they had simply taken it too far. The next thing they knew, Yin-Yin had disappeared from the guild hall. All that was left, was a note on one of the tables explaining why she left and telling them that they would only find once things had been forgiven among all three.
Though, to most members it seemed very understanding. The shy girl wasn't usually fond of their fighting beforehand, them making those fights be about her just made that fondness grew less. It didn't necessarily help the one time that's for sure. Though, I guess in a way it did. After all, those emotions would've stayed bottled up inside for who knows how long. Not only that, but the two boys would never have learned their lesson. However, it sure wasn't good at the time.
One day, the Fairy Tail guild hall was incredibly quiet. Well, quieter compared to most days. That was simply because two of the fight starters were in fact missing. I will admit though, most didn't really care. The one person that did, was none other than the white-haired girl. She had noticed something was off nearly the exact moment she walked into the quieter hall. After asking around for a few minutes, the girl had run off to find the other two boys.
By the time she found them, the two were locked head-on in a rather brutal fight. Physical, mental, and magical attacks were thrown at each other as the battle continued. Each boy was determined to win the complete and undivided attention of Yin-Yin, and neither was going to back down. Upon seeing each boy battered and beaten, tears had threatened to spill from Yin-Yin's hazel eyes.
She had screamed for what felt like hours, begging each one to stop. Heck, she even tried using her magic to make them stop. Sadly, she had a much weaker power level than the other dragon slayers. Possibly because she was a Second-Generation Fire Dragon Slayer, but I wouldn't know. Still not up to date with this series. Moving on now. None of the attacks Yin-Yin tried to deal out worked probably, resulting in failure. Feeling like she couldn't stop anything, Yin-Yin fled the scene in tears.
It wasn't until Erza had come by later and verbally attacked the two boys that they realized Yin-Yin had been there, trying to get them to stop. Almost instantly, the two felt terrible. To make a love one cry, is one of the worst feelings one can feel. Especially when you know that person loves you back just as much. They spent the next six hours desperately searching for her around the area both in surrounding Magnolia and Fairy Tail. When they returned, they found a single note atop one of the tables in the guild hall.
Dear Natsu and Gray,
I'm so sorry but I can no longer stay if you two resorts to violence over me. I cannot bear to see either one of you hurt over something like this. Please forgive me at a later date, but do not come searching for me. I will only return when all three of us can forgive and forget. Only, when you two can promise you will not hurt the other because of me.
Sincerely, Yin-Yin
The two were without a doubt shocked. The fact that Yin-Yin had sacrificed her membership towards the guild because they were getting hurt over fighting for her, was surprising. Gray looked Natsu in the eye. "I'm not backing down you know. I love her, but we need to work something out." He said. Natsu nodded. "Yeah, but the only way would be to look for her together." He commented.
Gray sighed but nodded, "Then let's do it." The two had searched for four days and nights, but to no avail. It was only on the morning of the fifth day that they had found Yin-Yin in the woods, laying on the ground completely unconscious. Together they had carried her back to Fairy Tail, leading us to where this one-shot began.
Gray sat down on the cot next to Yin-Yin's, his eyes watching her form carefully. Never before did he ever think he would share a common concern with Natsu. In all fairness though, it was about Yin-Yin. Both boys were so worried about her, despite the fact that Porlyusica had told them she would be just fine. She was just overly stressed out was all. Natsu sighed, closing his eyes for a second. He wondered when she would wake up, and what she would say when she did.
Not too far after Natsu's sigh, a strangled groan came from the occupied cot in between the boys. They eagerly looked over and almost sighed in relief as they saw Yin-Yin's hazel eyes start to open slowly. Her eyes widened slightly at the familiar ceiling and she soon frowned, sitting up and looking down at her lap that was hidden beneath a blanket.
Gray's frown remained, and he sat down on the cot Yin-Yin occupied, dragging her into his arms shortly after. Natsu caught on and wrapped his arms around the two, laying his head on the short girl's shoulder. Yin-Yin tensed, her eyes tearing up again. It had been a while, at least it certainly felt like it was. "I-I am sorry." She stuttered, her tears dripping down her face. Gray leaned back slightly to look at her and kissed her eyes. "You don't have to apologize. We were the jerks." Natsu commented, rubbing Yin-Yin's back gently. A small, choked sob escaped Yin-Yin's lips and the boys continued to comfort the girl.
Yin-Yin's sobs died down, and her tears dried, leaving dried trails on her cheeks. Natsu wiped at the dried trail softly before kissing her cheek, leaving a warm feeling there. Gray kissed the bridge of Yin-Yin's nose, his cold lips make her close her eyes. "We may argue, but we won't fight over you again." Natsu promised, looking Yin-Yin in the eyes. She smiled sadly, biting her lips back. Gray smiled and nodded, and Yin-yin engulfed the two in a hug. She knew she would have to decide eventually between the two, but for now, everything was peaceful. "T-Thank you."
