[SEASON FOUR: EPISODE FIVE]
[PART TWO]
Ethan stepped into his mother's apartment complex and, surprisingly enough, found Johnny balancing on one leg with his other one raised high in the air, mimicking the legendary crane kick.
"Um.... What the hell are you doing?"
"Oh, hey. Good timing. Think I've got a counter to LaRusso's bread-and-butter. Watch this."
"I make like I'm gonna walk into it again. At the last second, I slip under, shoulder check him in the balls, take him to the mat, elbow, elbow, elbow." The blonde man rambled, panting while explaining his plan to win the rematch.
"Point. Lawrence, winner."
"Okay." Williams replied slowly, staring at the man in front of him with wide eyes.
"All right. Here, you be him so I can try this at game speed." Sensei ordered, patting him on the shoulder before turning around. Ethan kept quiet, not knowing what to say.
"You gonna help me win or what?"
"Honestly, Sensei. I kinda wish you weren't really fighting at all."
"Yeah. Well, too bad, cause it's go time." Johnny said, immediately jumping up and down.
"You'll thank me when we're done with the kata crap and I can prepare you for an actual fight."
"Wait, so let me get this straight. If you win, we go back to training Eagle Fang. No more Miyagi-Do?"
"You got it, Pontiac." He said, nodding his head.
"But what if I.... Don't wanna stop learning Miyagi-Do again?"
"What the hell are you saying? You want him to win?" Sensei asked angrily before stepping forward.
"No. Well.... I guess from the way I see it from my point of view, it doesn't matter who wins. Nobody wins."
"Somebody always wins. That's how fights work. All right? No matter what ancient philosophical bullshit LaRusso's been feeding you."
"Okay, Sensei." Ethan scoffed quietly. "It doesn't matter what happens.... but in the end, there will always be consequences to your actions."
The boy took one last look at Johnny before turning around and walked into his mother's apartment, not saying another word to him, as he began having second thoughts about this whole team-up thing between the two dojos.
Later in the day, nightfall approached, as Johnny stepped through the double canvas doors, and suddenly all of the kids crowded around him, pulling out their phones to record the epic battle.
"He's here! He's here, he's here!" Chris exclaimed cheerfully, brandishing his phone in the man's face.
"Anything you wanna say to the camera, Sensei Lawrence?"
Sensei completely ignored him and marched forward over to the Okinawa sparring deck, where Daniel was kneeling down, dressed in his own white Miyagi-Do Gi, also wearing his signature headband.
"What are all the kids doing here?"
"That's what happens when you broadcast your life all over social media." LaRusso replied, slightly glancing over at their students.
"Alright, look, maybe there's a better way."
"There is. You just won't admit it."
"Don't you ever think you might be wrong about anything?" The blonde man questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"What are we doing here? Wanna rehash your baseless argument from last night in front of there kids?"
"No. I want what's best for them."
"What's best for them is Miyagi-Do. And if fighting you is the only way I can get there, let's just get this done."
"All right, LaRusso. Let's finish this."
Daniel nodded his head and stepped over to the edge of the deck. Johnny walked off and changed in a black Gi before coming back on the arena. Ethan and Sam were in charge of refereeing. They were both holding a red and white flag in their hands.
"Face us." The boy ordered, and the two men turned towards them and bowed.
"Bow."
"Face each other." She instructed, as they turned to face each other. The two bowed at one another before getting into a fighting stance.
"Ready? Fight!" The two teens said, jumping back to create distance between the two fighters.
Johnny was the first one to attack, lunging forward and attempting to deliver a kick at his opponent. Daniel blocked it and countered it with an attack of his own.
Sensei kept throwing punches, with LaRusso blocking every one of all of them. The blonde man went to throw a high punch, but Daniel brought his leg upwards, leaving his chest completely exposed.
Lawrence obviously took advantage of this and used his other fist to strike Daniel, earning him the first point.
"Point, Lawrence." The brunette held up the red flag, as her father glanced at her before moving back to the center of the deck. Johnny got back into a fighting stance, raising his eyebrows challengingly at him.
"The score is 1-0, Lawrence. Ready! Fight!"
Johnny brought his leg up to deliver a roundhouse kick, but Daniel used his own leg to block it, catching his opponent off guard. He moved forward, acting like he was going to attack, suddenly the blonde man back away slightly.
LaRusso went to throw a punch, but Lawrence blocked it with ease, using one of the moves he learned from him. Sensei then went to deliver a punch, and Daniel countered it before bringing his foot up, kicking his opponent in the stomach.
"Point, LaRusso!" Ethan yelled, holding up the white flag. Johnny turned around to look at him, pain evident in his eyes. He really wasn't enjoying this at all. The two got back into a fighting stance.
"Score is 1-1. Ready! Fight!"
Sensei lunged forward and stick his fist outward, but Daniel blocked it, spinning around and nearly making his opponent fall. Johnny quickly delivered a spinning back kick, but LaRusso dodged it. He tried to land another kick as well.
Suddenly, Daniel ducked down. Sensei moved closer towards him, trying to use his elbows to hit his opponent, but the man blocked them both.
Daniel showed him backwards and ducked down as Johnny swung his fist at him. He then brought his right leg up to land a kick his opponent's side, catching it as he delivered a punch to his stomach. Williams held up the white flag in the air, signaling LaRusso had won a point.
"Scores 2-1, LaRusso." The boy announced.
LaRusso took a deep breath and slowly formed kata with his hands. The blonde man looked at him, his fists raised up in anticipation.
"Ready? Fight!" Sam shouted as she stepped back. Sensei went to deliver a spinning back kick, but LaRusso blocked it. Johnny tried to swung at him, but Daniel caught his arm, hitting him in the bicep.
Then he used his knuckle to strike Johnny's nerves, using the same technique he picked up while being in Okinawa. His opponent groaned in pain as his arm when completely limped.
"What the hell, man?" He questioned, but LaRusso didn't say nothing and lunged forward. Sensei went to deliver a kick to his opponent's thigh, but suddenly he moved out of the way.
And this didn't stop Johnny from jumping up, wrapping his legs around the man's torso. He then brought both of them down to the floor before sending a heel kick to hit him in his chest.
"Got any more dirty tricks up your sleeve?"
"I'm not the one who fights dirty." Daniel replied, getting into a fighting stance, as Johnny rolled up his sleeves to his biceps.
"The score is 2-2."
"Next point wins. Ready? Fight!" She called out as she and Ethan jumped back, creating some distance away from the fight.
The blonde man lunged forward, delivering a kick as Daniel spun around. Johnny turned, going in for a punch, but LaRusso grabbed his arm before shoving him down. Sensei quickly got back up to balance on the balls of his feet, sticking his leg outwards, but his opponent moved out of the way.
Lawrence shot up into a standing position, as they exchanged punches with one another, each other blocking the other's attacks. Johnny had finally got ahold of him and pushed him back, making him fall into one of the wooden supporters that was holding the deck up.
Daniel immediately turned around as the blonde man went to deliver a kick, but LaRusso ducked underneath him and ran over to the side, raising his fist up.
The two grown men circled around each other until Johnny striked a punch, which Daniel easily blocked. Sensei kept trying to land a hit on him, but his opponent kept his guard up, not letting a single one land.
Lawrence brought his knee up to strike him in the stomach, and Daniel blocked that as well. Johnny went to kick his opponent in the head, and LaRusso caught it before bringing up his own foot to land a kick.
The blonde man blocked it while staring at his enemy in anger. He brought himself back and LaRusso did the same. The two shot forward, and suddenly they both hit each other in the head before falling down to the ground.
"Point, Lawrence! Point, LaRusso!" Ethan and Sam said at the same time, holding up their respective flags. The two teens looked at each other, confused.
"Are you sure?" She asked, glancing over at him.
"Wait? Are you sure?" He shot back, raising an eyebrow.
"Let's check the replay." Demetri suggested. Everyone gathered around Chris as he showed them the video. Johnny and Daniel hit one another at the same time, just before falling down, as everyone had witnessed.
"Go to another angle."
"There is no other angle."
"Don't you guys have another phone?"
Williams looked around at the sound of grass crunching, realizing someone was walking towards them. He took a closer look to notice it was Hawk, with a hood over his head and tears dripping from his eyes.
"Hawk?" The boy questioned before getting off of the sparring deck and ran over towards him.
"Shit, Eli, what happened?" Demetri asked, worriedly. Eli slowly pulled his hood back to reveal his purple mohawk gone, with small bits of purple were still there. The kids all gasped in shock as he looked down at his feet in sadness.
"Who did this to you?"
"Cobra Kai." He answered, simply. Johnny closed his eyes, letting out a sigh of disbelief.
"Kreese and Sliver did this. They need to pay."
"Jesus, Johnny. Please. Kreese tried to kill you last time. You wanna fight both of them?" LaRusso asked incredulously.
"Damn right I do. Look what they did." Lawrence stated, gesturing his hand over at Hawk.
"Dousing the fire with gasoline, that's your answer? Why am I not surprised?"
"Guys, stop, quit bitching at each other." Ethan demanded, looking straight at the two men, but they didn't listen.
"You still think your way is the only way. You were proud when they pulled their little sprinkler prank the other day. But if they stood their ground and kicked some ass like I taught them, this wouldn't have happened." Johnny stated angrily.
"And if they fight every time they're provoked, where does that lead? Back to the hospital? Or to jail? Just because cause you spent your time in bothโ" Daniel started.
"Dad, enough." Sam said as her father turned around to look at her.
"What?"
"Johnny's right. It doesn't matter how many times we stand up to Cobra Kai, if we don't strike back, they're gonna keep coming at us."
LaRusso looked down angrily before glaring back up at Johnny, tears started brimming in his eyes.
"And you were worried about my influence on your kids? Is this what you want, Johnny? To have my daughter and the rest of my students acting like you?"
"You don't have to worry about it anymore, because we're done." Sensei said.
"Works for me."
