After the great flood, all that remained were two of the strongest cats in history - Splashpool and Prince Branchfall. They loved each other very much, and became mates. But... There were consequences. They had broken the warrior code. The Star Kingdom was angry. They punished them.

Splashpool died soon after giving birth to their 5 children - The last litter she would ever have. Rosekit, Mintkit, Primosekit, Moonkit and Stagkit.

Prince Branchfall went mad with grief. He swore never to believe in The Star Kingdom ever again. But he stayed on - for the last memory of Splashpool he would ever have.
