                                                                     Day - 11

By this time, I had developed a routine. Wake up before my siblings, take my shit and leave before 7, come back home after 11, sleep and repeat. I haven't seen either of them for days, nor did they care to call me, text me or even come into my room. Not even Alex, it's not my fault a fake bitch decided to wash up at our door step.

I would've crashed Emma's home if she was alone, but I've not seen her at school and I've not visited her house to she her creep of a father. So I crashed Lexi's, we're not the bestest of friends but we know each other, and she's been there for me.

Saying the facts out though, she's exactly like Emma, more like me before I've moved to this town. Her family's filthy rich, filthy. Her parents do live in town but they're exactly like her, parties, luxury shit, drugs, alcohol, etc, etc. I've seen them only once, and Lexi lives in a completely different house sometimes with her boy friend, yes, she can cook, take care of her pet, get OK grades, clean her house, get her shit together but that all seems to disappear at night.

Lexi's doors were always open, and I pushed through the bluet-proof, glass door. I supposed she would be on the phone, maybe making out or having breakfast but she wasn't on the first floor, so I had check her other two. Her house was big as it is and the first floor drained me of my energy. I once made a bet with her saying I was fit and healthy and I would never use her elevator and called her a lazy ass, but I broke it - couldn't help myself but do.

I walked into a room, quite surprised to find her there. She was casually getting ready for school, with her strawberry blonde hair in perfect curls and a full face of make up.

"Wow, first try."

"You used my elevator," She pointed her mascara she was applying towards me.

"Inevitable." I sat on her bed behind her vanity. Of course, I could always sleep over at Lexi's house, but I wanted to show Alex that I was alive so I'd come home every day.

"Are you already very sick of me hanging out here all day?" I asked, honestly. She was still doing her make up.

"If I had a sister like yours, I would've kicked her out. You're nicer than I am."

"I told her her kids would hate her, same thing."

"At least you stopped her from fucking another guy again." She chuckled.

"No, I don't think so."

"What do you mean? Another guy?" She asked.

"Never say never with her around you."

"Speaking of attention-seeking whores, Emma's mom came back." She said casually.

"What?!"

Emma's mom, very much like Emma's dad was a player on another level, she left the country when Emma was young and wasn't the nicest to Emma, so her coming back would be bad. I had to find out all of this from Lexi, not Emma, but she knows I know, she knows everything.

"Is that why she didn't come to school?" I asked.

"Probably, but her staying would make it worse wouldn't it?" She said, applying blush with her blush in small stokes.

"It would." I agreed.

"But why wouldn't she tell us?"

"What do you mean she wouldn't tell us?"

"Like no response, no text or a call back" I showed her my phone, showing the multiple texts and calls I left for her but none were returned, and she took a good look, turning her attention from her pretty face.

"She hasn't told you?"

"I..no." I controlled myself, but I get the big picture, Emma was worried about her mom and didn't want to worry her friends, well, one of her friends, or...she just didn't want to share the news. But wouldn't she think that I, of all people would understand how she feel, I have a sister who also left me who decided to show up where she's not wanted. Why would she not tell me? It hurt me, guess my sister's not alone.

"Look, I don't think she didn't want to tell you, but she's been short with me too."

Maybe she's just dealing with it in her own way. Emma's always been a bit... private about her family stuff. You know how she is."

I nodded, Lexi had a point. She had always been guarded when it came to her family. But it didn't make me feel any less hurt.

"I just wish she'd trust me enough to tell me," I muttered.

Lexi turned to her mirror again, facing it and touching her make up again. This is not going to help me.

"Distract me, what's up with you?" As much I wanted to know more about Emma, I couldn't feel worse than it is.

"Me? Nothing." She shrugged.

"You have a very interesting life."

"If interesting meant being flirted with multiple guys other than my boy friend, then yes, my life's interesting."

"Better than having my sister at home, and my brother who turned numb." I said.

She didn't reply, but just kept doing her make up. I slowly recollected her word 'flirted with multiple guys other than my boy friend' . "You guys broke up?"

"No." She was dabbing on purple eye shadow, I know damn sure she loves her pinks and reds, why is using purple?

"Why you using purple?"

"Dunno." She sighed. I gave her look, I know that's not true, she always has her reasons.

"It was Dave's favorite color on me." She admitted. She's trying to please Dave.

"Why aren't you talking?"

"Just how we're doing it." She set the eye shadow down and moved on to her hair, which was fine as it is. "He doesn't want anyone to know about us."

"You're acting like Cassie from Euphoria, the high school is fucking crazy show." I accused.

"What else am I supposed to do?"

"Talk to him, there's nothing more you can do"

"It's much more complicated than just to talk it out."

"It's unhealthy." It slipped, but I rushed to explain it. "I wouldn't compare Dave to Nate from the show, or even you to Cassie, but this thing your doing won't end well at all."

"Just let me deal with it."

Dave was always nice to Lexi this kind of behavior is absolutely funny of him. He wouldn't hurt anyone intentionally, and in fact took really good care of Lexi.

"Do you think he acts different?"

"Isn't he always like that?" She said, high lighting her face.

"No." I said, truthfully.

"You seriously, don't think he's alien, do you?" I could hear the anger in her voice, but I didn't do anything wrong.

"I never said that"

"You're acting like it!" She accused.

"What do you mean?"

"Look, Evy.." She set the palette down and faced me, as I was getting ready to jump on to my feet to argue that I'm not nosy, "I know you're trying to help as a friend, but I don't want you to handle my relationship how you handled yours with your sister, I got this."
