Morning just had risen and you were already standing at the terrace, with no kind of rain nor bad weather to ruin the moment. Grassfields were scattered wide around the countryside as the clean wind blew softly to your face, causing you to inhale the breeze and enjoy the gorgeous view set in front of your eyes.

While you took your time to spend your alone-time, you suddenly felt a sudden tug over at the bottom hem of your shirt.

"Han-Han? Did the chickens outside wake you up again like last time?" You asked and picked the still sleepy 5-year-old up, his droopy eyes staying visible.

"Yes mama," He deeply yawned before rubbing his eyes for a moment. "but it's okie... it is alright."

You can't help melt from your son's cuteness which was explained by your resistance to giving a pinch to his chubby cheeks. It was obvious that the child was still sleepy but whenever you ask him if he wants to go back to bed, he just shakes his head.

"Are you sure? Mama can't sing you to sleep again." You suggested once again.

"No-no, I want to stay." He murmured back.

You granted the toddler's wish and let him stay with you. You patted his back while he sat on your lap and sooner as you expected, the small child returned to dreamland.

You tried to make your giggles quiet and your movements careful as you returned the child to its small bed, preparing yourself once it wakes up again.

After you were done, you tiptoed your way to your shared bedroom and peeked behind the slightly open door silently.

Your husband's, Jeonghan's rather, snores were the only sound coming from the whole bedroom. You grinned from his ridiculous face he was unconsciously making and reserved all your laughter once you went outside.

You usually don't wake up this early but the occasion today was already enough of a reason. You already planned 'some things' beforehand and all you needed to do was to make sure the ending product was perfect.

— Perfect for your husband's one and only birthday.

...

"Hayoon-ah! You finally arrived!" A familiar chirpy voice greeted you and instantly pulled into a very tight, squeezing hug.

"Inha, I haven't seen you for a long time!" You breathed out.

"Yeah! And it's just because you always don't have the time to visit me!" She let go of you and acted like she was mad, but you knew she really wasn't.

You examined your long-time best friend and you can't really miss out her admiring beauty. She was wearing beautiful pearl earrings and glancing down at her fingers, her ring was still in the same perfect condition as ever.

"Okay, the cake you requested is already done and I made sure to make it look splendid." She clapped her hands excitedly. "And also, I kind of purposely made it heavy to carry so that I can help you~ Hehe~"

You spared her a glare and scolded her in order to stop teasing you. And going back to the cake, Inha was correct because the cake was insanely huge! You didn't even know how many layers she stacked up on top of each one...

It was just so big!

"Inha, I specifically told you that two layers are enough! Not hundreds!" You groaned.

"And that's why I also specifically drove here today with my car! Come on, I also wanted to see Han-Han too! It's been a long time~"

"Ughhh, fine." You rubbed your temple, still groaning. "But we still need to stop by and buy some additional decorations, okay?"

"Yes, yes! Everything for my best friend and her husband!"

...

JEONGHAN | TIME SKIP

"Mhm..." I grumbled and smuggled my nose to something incredibly soft. "Angel, are you already awake now?~"

I maintained my eyes closed and waited for a response, at least a hum back. "Angel..?"

I decided to wait another set of seconds but nothing was met. I opened my eyes gently just to figure out that the person I was supposed to be embracing was replaced by a large pillow, mistaking that it was her.

I chuckled and licked my lips, "She really does know how to trick me every time... that woman~"

I chose to wake up early for the day and glance towards the clock, 8:30 am it says. I slipped my feet into some slippers and lazily walked up to the large window covered with red thick curtains.

I watched some of the elderly go on with their day and children play around the nearly empty street, some random leaves flowing with the wind.

"AAAH! OUCH, THAT HURTS!"

I snapped back from spacing out and widened my eyes frantically. I didn't offer any time to think and almost tripped my way out the door by how much panic was building inside my system, complete with my face turning pale.

I slammed the door wide open but calmed myself when I realized that my wife was safe and sound, holding her arm. My gaze changed directions and went to the extremely random huge piece of pastry sitting on top of my dinner table,

it's even huger than my 4-year-old son's height!

"Dada! Surpriseeee!!" A loud excited yell broke the silence inside the room.

Silence swooped in again and the poor kid thought he did something wrong. I looked over at my wife again and gave me a nervous beam and waved awkwardly, highly disregarding the vibrant party decorations pasted at every wall of the dining room.

"Pfft..." Another womanly voice was heard, not my wife's. "HAHAHAHA!"

"SURPRISE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

...

The sun was close to setting yet the home of the Yoon still remained lively. After using my mouth too much from talking with Mingyu, I walked out for a while and went to the house's backyard. I placed my hands above my hips and adored the love of my life and my very own 'little-me' playing around with some flowers.

"Mama! Look, red flower!" The small kid joyfully pulled his mom with him.

"No Han-Han, that's yellow." Hayoon picked him up. "Okay, can you tell me what color the flower is again?"

"Ye... Yellow..?"

"Good job, baby! That's right, yellow! That flower is called a Dahlia."

After minutes of staying still from afar— I sneaked up on them and surprised them. Innocent giggles rang up the atmosphere which made me feel a sudden feeling of blessing and refreshment. I hugged the two most important people in my life and tried not to remove my hands under any circumstances.

I will do everything for us to stay like this forever, whatever such thing that I need to do just to protect them both.

"Always remember I love you both. And also, thank you for the small party you held, angel." I said while she just pinched my cheeks as a reply.

"Anything for you. You've been working hard and Han-Han also helped with all the decorations, right Han-Han?"

"Yes!"

I lovingly curled my lips and kissed them both on their cheeks.

As the three of us stood and watched the sun slowly set, I took time to see where I luckily brought myself into... That young high school Jeonghan probably dreamed every night inside that crusty room back at that mansion.

"Happy birthday again, brother! Me and Inha wanted to stay longer but we needed to go." Mingyu spoke up right beside us and nervously laughed.

"The nanny called us and kept asking where we are. You already know, we don't want another helper to suffer and clean their mess." Inha added.

"It's okay Inha, Gyu, thank you for coming. Thank you for the gorgeous painting you gave me too."

"Don't mention it! It's been so long I have used my painting brushes anyway. But anyways, we're off! Happy birthday again!"

As my brother and her wife took their leave, I focused my attention back at my family.

I bent down over the plants and picked the very same yellow flower from the ground. I admired it's color before I caressed Hayoon's cheek with my free hand while the other tucks the flower's stem on top of her ear.

"I love you, Jeonghan."

"I love you more, angel."
