#44: Captive

"That boy really thought I could keep my word, he really didn't learn very well did he?"

...

JEONGHAN | EARLIER, SAME AFTERNOON

"Young master, the driver already prepared the car downstairs. He's only waiting for you to arrive—"

"Give me some time and I'll be there soon. Just carry my bags there, would you?"

The random maid told what I told her while I just remained sitting on top of my bed. I enjoyed the sight of my room for one last time before sighing and leaving the small space. I was almost close to where the car parked when a small tap was felt on my shoulder.

Mingyu pulled me into a tight hug and mumbled, "Just call me if you want to escape from that new school of yours. Always remember that I have connections in the states that can help you, just give me a signal and I'll pay them to help you with anything." He pulled away.

"I know Mingyu," I ruffled his hair. "I'll take note of that. Also, watch over her if anything goes wrong alright? If something does happen, contact me right away."

We did a final brotherly embrace before he let me go and allowed me to go to the car. I made myself comfortable in the backseat but I can't still stop sensing something wrong deep in my core.

As the darkness slowly continued to fill the sky, we reached the place where father hired a private plane to take me to the states. I stepped out from the vehicle and looked at my surroundings, not a single emotion presented in my eyes while I did so.

"Where's the plane?"

"The plane still hasn't arrived yet and they're now calling another plane to take you, young master." A man approached me and answered my half-hearted question.

My servants and I waited for the plane to arrive and it did eventually some minutes later. I prepared myself first and breathed some of that Korean air for the very last time, finally walking heavy steps way up the aircraft.

"JEONGHAN! I NEED TO TELL YOU SOMETHING!"

Who the hell is that—

"Mr. Jo? What do you want?" I nonchalantly asked, not caring about any such thing at this point.

"Y-Your father, he didn't stay true to his words at all." He heavily panted. "He took that girl... I think he's going to do something and—"

"TELL ME WHERE IS SHE!"

I gave him permission to drag me away from the crowd and tell me all that he knew. Mixed feelings took all over my system and my whole body just automatically stomped to the nearest empty car.

"Young master! Your father wouldn't be happy—"

"SHUT THE F*CK UP AND STAY AWAY!"

My driver and a couple of people tried to stop both of us but I fought back, reminding them I'm still the son of their boss. All of them took a big step back from the car and silently let me drive away from the place, quickly driving to a somewhat familiar location.

'I bet one of those guys who saw me yesterday and told him.' I thought based on my logic.

'I know I should have done something about it, I'm such an idiot.'

Thanks to how fast and high the speed we were in, we arrived quite in time for the not expected party. I parked the car exactly behind a very rusty gate and Mr. Jo's sharp eyes were quick to catch something, someone people rather, from afar. Reporting me about it right away.

"Why are there police officers planted everywhere? Why is the head chief here?" He muttered.

"Officers?" I glanced over his side of the window and raised my eyebrow.

'Why the heck are they here? And why am I just realizing I'm here in this old warehouse again? '

"Kid, do you think it's possible that they're here because of the same thing we're here for? It's entirely possible!" He assumed. "It's better we don't go out there for a while because— Jeonghan! Where the hell are you going?!"

"Wait here for me."

"What? Don't go yet Jeong—"

I closed the door quickly and tiptoed my way behind a very recognizable back figure. The person seems to hear the sudden 'woosh' from me sneaking up to him but once he saw me, his expression was truly incredible.

"You! You're not supposed to be here!" Wonwoo blurted from annoyance.

"First of all, I have no time to explain. Second, we can't talk here." I uttered at a faster pace. "And lastly, I know you know I still don't like you but I need a lot of your help."

"Tsk, do you think I'm going to help someone like you that easily? I'm already done—"

"I will f*cking slaughter you to death Jeon Wonwoo if you don't help me save her from her captives. I will never stop chasing you down, even wherever you are, until I can give you what I think you deserve."

He widened his eyes and closed his mouth.

"Now that I cleared that, let's go and save her. You huge dumbass."

...

WONWOO

"I've talked to some comrades and they already told me they still don't know how to get in. They aren't even sure if this is where we can find her!" I groaned tiredly for the hundredth time.

"This warehouse may look abandoned to a lot of people but it's not. I surely know another way to get in."

"I already told you— Hold on, how?"

"There's a small metallic door around behind this place and the only thing I remember is that it's covered with some spiky, pointy wood and a couple of pieces of trash." He started walking away, cueing me to follow him too.

"That's great and all but how did you know all of this info?"

"Stop asking questions and just keep walking."

"Jeonghan, I'm asking you one question and you better respond to me with none other than a decent answer. You understand?"

"Ugh, can't you just zip your mouth for a second!" He hissed. "I don't want to just stand here and talk—"

"Are you the one who killed that 18-year-old victim who died here a few months ago?"

It's obviously easy to even guess his temper but I still chose to take the absolute risk. I interrupted him from whatever he was going to say and asked a question that may support my small hunch.

And I'm glad that I followed my gut.

"How smart of you then." He snickered and stopped taking steps.

"But before you judge me or take me to the police for me to confess, I would like to tell you—"

"SHH!"

I interrupted him again but I couldn't help it when a sprung of light came out from the building. I and Jeonghan looked at each other and signaled for me to pull out my gun. We were already far away from the authorities so they wouldn't hear it anyway in case something happens.

We sneaked our way to the slightly opened door and Jeonghan insisted for him to peek. He saw exactly three young men and in their belts is where their respective armfires hanged. The supposed intense moment broke when I heard Jeonghan chuckle mischievously, suddenly pulling out his own gun with a silencer out of nowhere.

"When did you have that—"

"Now you 'SSH'! Luckily, I've brought another silencer with me so you better use this pretty boy." He threw a black hollow metal tube and commanded me to attach it to the end of my gun,

which I did.

"In the count of eight, we'll attack them." He charged his gun.

"One..."

"two..."

"three..."

.

.

.

"four... EIGHT!"
