𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘢 𝘑𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴'𝘴 𝘗𝘖𝘝 :

Took me a little while to fall asleep tonight I don't know why, i just laid in bed staring at the ceiling above me. It was a white paved ceiling not the usual ceiling you would see in a cabin house. I looked over at my sister Cally who was still asleep peacefully next to me. We chose to sleep in the same room knowing it would be a whole lot better for the two of us.

I sighed and decided to hop out of bed as I walked to the door carefully and quietly closing it behind me as I walked down the steps I went and grabbed my backpack as I realized I forgot it downstairs earlier, I turned around when I heard a rustling sound from the shadows in the far end of the kitchen.

I quickly flicked a light switch just to turn it back off when it was just the short haired brunette girl Nora, when she turned her head to look at me when the light turned off again. My heart felt like it skipped a few beats. I don't know why I was feeling like that.

Ever since I saw her my stomach just got butterflies, I guess I just thought she was really pretty nothing else, or maybe it was something else that I was still trying to figure out. I can't like fall in love with a girl I just met in the middle of the woods in an abandoned cabin.

" you okay? " she spoke softly as I got out of my thoughts quick and turned my head to her, " yeah I'm fine thanks " I replied nodding my head as she clearly saw me looking a lil uneasy. " what are you doing down here? " I asked her as she held up a plastic water bottle. " oh okay " I replied again as I was trying to think of what to say.

" you? " she asked when I leaned my back against the wall, " pardon? " I looked at her confused. Honestly was a little bit dumb asking that as she was clearly asking me the same question. " what are you doing down here? " she repeated herself. " oh forgot my backpack " I held up my bag.

" oh okay, we'll get some sleep " she replied before walking up the stairs, " yeah I will, you to defiantly, goodnight Nora " I kind of stuttered with my words as she said goodnight back before disappearing up the stairs and into her room.

I followed up the same steps as I went to my room before closing the door behind me, I had a little bit of a smile forming on my face before I turned around seeing my sister sitting up in bed staring at me. " awe cute " she said as I scoffed before placing my bag on the ground.

" shut up " I replied a little bit annoyed as my sister just chuckled under her breath and laid back down on the bed, " you need to get better at talking to people you like " she told me before shaking her head a little disappointed.

" like? Pleasee, in your dreams! I do not like her at all or anyone in general " I crossed my arms standing proudly at my lack of lying skills, " mhm sure ya do " she shrugged as I walked over and laid myself under the blankets of the bed next to her, " you wish " I tilted my head before falling asleep after everything.

Let's be real here, Cally was right. I was wrong, like usual. I just never liked to admit I was wrong I was never aloud to admit that someone else was right other then myself at times like these, especially my own sister Cally Jones.

I woke up as I quickly rubbed my eyes and stretched before throwing on a quick grey hoodie i found in my bag, I put on my jean shorts as I buttoned them up and then went over to the small mirror in the bedroom as I quickly brushed my hair out with the only hair brush I ever have now, I left my hair down and straightened.

I pushed my hair behind my ears as I walked downstairs and past a few people, " morning Carla " Nora waved at me from the table as I breathed in a bit before replying, " morning " i formed a little smile before walking down to the dock where I felt a hand on my shoulder.

In a quick panic I turned around and pushed the person away thinking it was a zombie, " woah woah easy there " a hand held out to me as if I was an animal they were trying to calm down for the first time, " Jesus Dylan! " I put my hands up in the air. I've only known this man for half a night and he is already scaring me.

I heard a laugh slowly behind him as I saw the brunette boy Lucas walking over as he placed a bunch of logs onto the ground, " can I help? " I offered as Lucas just looked at Dylan a little confused, " what? " I asked as the two boys just glanced at me. " usually the girls wanna work with the house not the yard..? " Dylan replied as he pointed at the house.

" oh come on! I love working outside and I'm good at it, I mean what can I not chop a few wood logs and hall them over to you guys? " I replied a little bit of an angry and sassy tone in my voice, " alright alright you can " Lucas handed me an axe as I smiled proudly.

" thank you boys " I walked past them walking over to where Lucas came from, " she is one demanding women " I heard Lucas whisper towards the blonde boy. " you know I can hear you still! " I called out as I disappeared into the woods after hearing Dylan laughing at him.

It was quite peaceful out here in the middle of the woods, just the sounds of birds chirping every few seconds. I walked and walked until I got to an area where it looked like Lucas had been chopping wood in, so I began chopping at a few different logs I would find laying around.

Halfway into chopping wood I stopped to the sound of a bunch of growling around, my heart was beating so fast as I'd it was pounding against my chest as I looked around in every direction trying to figure out where it was, it wasn't just one of them. I quickly picked up the few logs I had as I held onto the axe.

I quickly ran back as I saw Dylan was preparing to go inside as Lucas was stacking logs, " guys we have an issue I think " I threw the logs onto the ground out of breath as they exchanged worried looks to one another, " you think? " Lucas questioned as I waited a moment to catch my breath again, " their was a whole bunch growling sounds out there " I pointed to then woods.

" should we risk it? " Lucas looked at Dylan as clearly he was the one who knew what the right calls were, " I don't know, we could check but it might lead them here. But if we leave it alone you never know. " he sighed for a moment before pushing his blonde hair back. " just don't really wanna loose this place yet " he looked out at the water before turning to Lucas.

" go tell the others to maybe pack the stuff just in case, or to come join us in knocking them all out alright? " the blonde said as the brunette boy nodded before running towards the house, " alright come on " Dylan picked up his spear he had clearly found from somewhere around, " this way " I turned right towards the location that's when we both froze our jaws slowly dropping.

There was one of the most largest herds of zombies we have ever saw before and it was heading straight for us, straight for the cabin. " D-Dylan! " I stuttered not knowing what to do in this moment, " alright let's say screw the whole fighting them off plan! " Dylan grabbed my arm pulling me with him as we ran to the house.

I turned around noticing some of the herd moving a lot faster the moment they saw us running towards the cabin, " what's happening? " Oakley was standing for the deck next to Layla and Nora as Lucas walked out, " quick pack the bags and get the cars ready! " I yelled as they all noticed the herd heading its way for us.

It looked like they all lost their emotions by the different looks on their faces before running into the cabin and all going separate ways, I ran into the house and upstairs. " Cally? Cally! " I called out looking for my sister before finding her in our bedroom packing both of our stuff, " here! " she threw my backpack at me as I caught it.

I looked at her when she wiped her eyes as she sniffled that's when I realized my sister was crying, I ignored it for now knowing we had to get going. But I was gonna check on her once we get somewhere safer to be at. I rested a hand on her shoulder once we walked down the stairs and sat at the front door waiting.

I smiled a bit as she had a slightly bit of a smile, finally when everyone finished getting as much stuff as they could we heard the back doors fly open as the windows got broken through, zombies tumbling through the windows and over top of one another through the doors, " go! " we quickly opened the front door as Lucas started his car up, Layla started hers up as well.

Nora and Oakley hopped into Lucas's car as me and Cally got into the back of Layla's just as Lucas drove up next to Layla we were about to drive when suddenly Layla peeked into his car from her open window, " where the hell is my brother! " she yelled as we all turned our heads to the side to see Dylan no where to be seen.

" Dylan! " I screamed from the cad as suddenly a zombie ran at my door just as I was about to close it again it managed to open the door, I tried kicking back at it as if was about to bite me. Right when it was about to attach its mouth to my knee an axe sliced right through the zombies skull as its body fell back and the blonde boy closed my cad door for me, before getting in the front.

He tossed his backpack and a second axe into the back onto the floor so that way it wouldn't have hit me or my sister by accident, " we got everyone now? " I questioned as Layla nodded before stepping on the gas pedal leading the way.

" so you had us all thinking you got killed because you went to get the other axe? " Cally stared at the blonde boy who just stared at his shoes he looked really disappointed and upset about leaving the cabin, like he had that sad look on his face as if everything was hurting for him.

" yes I did " he mumbled under his breath as his blonde hair had flopped down in front of his eyes, he wasn't even trying to move it out of his eyes. It's like he didn't even care that it was in his way or bugging him at all. I could tell Dylan cared about that cabin and that place a lot.

" we're gonna be okay " I smiled as the boy looked over at me before finally blowing the hair out of his face, he nodded with a smile before looking back down at the ground, towards his shoes. Wherever we were going to go, I hope we find somewhere safe for us all.
