"Yes!" I yelled as I got off the phone with Rob.

After sleeping for a bit, an hour at the top, I woke up. When I saw my reflection in the mirror I nearly screamed.

My eyes and the skin around them was deeply red, with dried tears tracks that went down my cheeks. The skin was slightly swollen but it wasn't a big deal. I will splash some cold water on my face a few times, it should calm down a bit.

I felt like I won million euros. Rob was talking to me again, he knew my past (even though I'm kinda mad Joelin was the one that told him and not me, but I guess it's better that way — I wouldn't have told him for some time) and he was going to meet my kids! And turns out Joelin isn't a bitch.

What a happy day!

I sighed, a smile on my face, feeling like I don't have any worries in the world.

One week later,
Monday

It's been the whole week but I didn't seem to manage to catch one on one moment with Rob. We've been preparing for the European parliament meeting that will be held in Strasbourg in a few days. Luckily, both Rob and I were going since the public has chosen the representatives — the results came yesterday. (I know it's not the right time for an election, but just go with it.)

But there's still a lot of preparation needed. I honestly didn't even know I had been a choice for the Member of the European parliament, since I was still the newest member, but I guess being one of the leaders goes with it.

Still, someone other from the party could've gone. I'm glad it's me, Rob and I would have time to talk. Hopefully, our hotel rooms will be close to each other... Or better let us have just one room.

"Klaver!" I stopped and turned toward the voice. I was walking down the aisle of the conference room, going to my seat.

"Baudet. Is there something you need?" he doesn't usually talk to me unless necessary.

"No. You're early and there aren't other people that I'm good with."

"We're not good. We don't even hang out."

"No, but at least we don't fight, we didn't sleep together, we —"

"You don't have to continue, I get it," I interrupted him.

"Great," he said and put his arm around me in 'bro type' as he called it. I frowned as he led me towards his seat. He pulled the chair and the one next to it, offering me to sit. I accepted since it was like he had said. There weren't a lot of our co-workers there so no one should miss the spot for a few minutes.

"So, how are you? Everything good, you settled?"

"It's been several months that I'm here," I said confused. "You're questioning me now?"

"Okay, let's cut the chase. Stay away from Rob."

"Huh?" was the only thing I could muster at that moment.
