Aarohi's Point Of View:
"So," Dev paused to stand up and march toward his kids with a calm expression on his face.
"Mind explaining what you're doing with my diary?" Dad plopped down on the couch. I was controlling the urge to ask him what happened to Charu.
"Dad," Ayush spoke up. He broke the silent argument of who should speak up. "Who was Charu?"
"She's certainly not our mom," Dhristi pointed at a photo laying on the coffee table, and Dev chuckled.
"What are you? Detectives?" He raised an eyebrow, and I bit back a smile.
"I mean you left us on a cliff-hanger," I complained and gestured to the diary, Dad's final words on the entry was 'Charu was getting Married'.
"What happened to Charu?" Dhristi blurted out, her brown curls were unruly and tangled. We'd been up since 2 AM reading the diary, it was now 3 AM.
"What better time for a story than 3 AM?" Dad gestured for us to sit down on the couch, and I was the first one to sit down. I looked at him eagerly wide-eyed.
"But who's Charu!?" Dhristi parroted her question she'd asked us a few minutes ago.
"Charu-?" Another familiar voice enjoined the conversation, and I cursed under my breath.
Shoot! Mom heard everything!
"Uh... Mom... You aren't supposed to be home," Ayush defended dad almost immediately.
"Who's Charu?" Mom mused, with a frown.
Dad laughed and stood up. He rushed toward mom with open arms and hugged her. Wrapping his hands around her waist, and pulling her into a kiss. Ayush mimicked as though he was throwing up. Mom broke away from dad, and rested her forehead against his.
"Mom," Dhristi broke the silence.
"You're Charu, aren't you?"
