BACKGROUND :
Sadie J grew up in Mangrove River with her parents George and Molly along with her half brother Jett.

She was known to be involved with the local gang 'The River Boys' she knew of the famous Braxton brothers and they even named her an honorary river girl. Her father George was once leader of the gang back in the 80s and early 90s. Her friends were all involved in the gang until one fateful night when a friend of theirs died including her father. The gang all split up and some went to prison and the other became a cop, Sadie J moved to Summer bay on her own with her brother after their mother was admitted to a psychiatric ward shortly after their fathers death. Leaving a sixteen year old Sadie J to go and find her aunt Irene, Jett was later adopted by John Palmer and Gina Palmer.
