Shumway cleared his throat as he walked towards kane. "Excuse me, sir. You asked to be notified if there was news. The Chancellor is still in surgery, but we have I.D.ed the shooter. Bellamy Blake one out of two people on The Ark unaccounted for." He showed Kane the screen of the man.
"Out of two?" Kane raised a brow.
"I'll get to that part later." Shumway said as Kane nodded his head, pointing to the picture of Bellamy.
"Who is he?" Kane asked as shumway sighed.
"He's no one, a janitor. We're still working up a profile, but his motive for going to Earth is clear." Shumway told him as he clicked the screen, making another person pop up; Octavia Blake.
"Sister. I remember. Her mother kept her hidden for almost sixteen years, nearly a record. What about the other person?" Kane curiously asked.
Shumway nodded his head as he typed something in, kane watching as a picture of a woman appeared. "Audrey bennet, sir. She's no where to be seen. I think that she could of possibly helped blake on the drop ship, maybe even helped him with the chancellors attack."
Kane frowned as he looked down at the screen. "Audrey bennet. I've known the girl since she was a child, she wouldn't do no such thing. Maybe he took her captive." Kane reasoned as shumway sighed. "What is it, Commander Shumway. Spit it out."
"We could start now. As Chancellor pro tempore, you can give the order to start reducing the population." Shumway whispered, looking around at the people around them.
"Not yet." Kane insisted with a shake of his head.
"Sir, we're wasting time. Removing the hundred from the population only buys us another month. Engineering needs more than that to fix those systems, if they can fix them at all." Shumway explained,
"You have my answer, Commander. Enough. If we're gonna kill hundreds of innocent people, we're gonna do it by the book. Is that clear? In the meantime, I want to know who helped this janitor and bennet get on that drop ship because they sure as hell didn't do it by themselves. Seems we have a traitor in our midst, Commander, and the hundred have an assassin in theirs." Kane said quickly as he walked past shumway.
Audrey bennet curiously watched as Murphy walked towards wells with his posy behind him. She was too far away to hear what they were saying. But she could tell on wells face it wasn't good as he barged past Murphy.
She sat up slight as Bellamy made his way towards Murphy and his group. Now she really wanted to know that were saying, so she waited until Bellamy walked away.
She quickly shot up from her seat on the log and jogged towards Murphy. "What did Blakey boy say to you?" Audrey quickly asked, throwing her arms over her chest.
"Nothing important. Something about the wristbands." Murphy shrugged his shoulders as she pulled a face, not believing him. "He said our bracelets send out vitals and shit to the ark and that if we take them off, they won't come down here."
"Of course." She muttered. After all, they probably would of realised that he shot jaha and they would want to get him for that.
"Why?" Murphy frowned slightly.
She breathed out, biting her cheek. "Well I don't trust him. Don't you question how he really got on? How the guards would of spotted him straight away?"
"Well you snuck on, didn't you?" Murphy questioned her, making her curse slightly.
"I can blend in, it's not hard to grab a jacket as blend in with a bunch of delinquents. But Bellamy on the other hand, the guards would of easily known that he wasn't an actual guard. And where did he even get the guards uniform? Murph, I don't trust him. I'd rather trust wells or even that blonde girl, Clarke."
"You're overreacting bennet. But I'll keep a close eye on him, just for you." He told her, making Aubrey roll her eyes.
"Oh wow, that makes me feel slightly better." She sent him a thumbs up as he shook his head at her. She turned slightly to the wall, reading the thing he carved onto the wall. "Really? Dye? I thought I taught you well." She shook her head as he frowned slightly.
Audrey watched as Murphy and Bellamy helped people take off their bracelets, one by one. It was a smart move on bellamys part. If the ark thought they were dying, they wouldn't dare come down and risk it. Maybe that was a good thing. Maybe Audrey didn't have to kill him. But she did. She had never not completed a mission. It was her damn job.
"Who's next?" Bellamy cheered slightly, throwing his hand in the air, as did Murphy. Audrey rolled her eyes slightly, watching a girl go towards them and give them her arm. The girl looked innocent, her hair tied half up, half down. Aubrey wondered what she got arrested for.
She didn't even realise that wells was now standing beside her, leaning on his non-injured foot. "What the hell are you doing?" Wells questioned bellamy, stepping forward slightly.
"We're liberating ourselves. What does it look like?" Bellamy asked with a small grin.
"Forcing kids to take of their bracelets to save your own ass." Audrey mumbled, making wells and Bellamy turn to her with questionable eyes, making her look down. Bellamys eyes didn't leave Audrey, she knew something and he wanted to know what she knew.
"It looks like you're trying to get us all killed. The communication system is dead. These wristbands are all we got. Take them off, and the Ark will think we're dying, that it's not safe for them to follow." Wells explained as everyone calmed down.
"That's the point, Chancellor. We can take care of ourselves, can't we?" Bellamy said smugly as Audrey rolled her eyes when the kids cheered.
"You think this is a game? Those aren't just our friends and our parents up there. They're our farmers, our doctors, our engineers. I don't care what he tells you. We won't survive here on our own, and besides, if it really is safe, how could you not want the rest of our people to come down?" Wells spoke to everyone, turning around slightly as he looked at all he kids.
"My people already are down. Those people locked my people up. Those people killed my mother for the crime of having a second child. Your father did that." Bellamy pointed at wells with hatred.
"My father didn't write the laws." Wells deformed himself and his father.
"No. He enforced them, but not anymore, not here. Here, there are no laws." Bellamy spoke louder as he stepped closer to wells, making the kids cheer. "Here, we do whatever the hell we want whenever the hell we want. Now, you don't have to like it, Wells. You can even try to stop it or change it, kill me." Oh wells wouldn't, but Audrey would. "You know why? Whatever the hell we want."
"Whatever the hell we want!" Murphy started to cheer loudly, making Audrey turn to him with an unimpressed look. In all honesty, she wanted to sleep. She was tired but she wasn't sleeping on the floor. "Whatever the hell we want!" He repeated as others did so too.
What Audrey didn't expect was a thundering noise, followed my droplets of rain. She scrunched her nose up slightly as one landed on her forehead. It was raining and she couldn't help but smile. "We need to collect this!" Wells yelled at Bellamy, over the cheers of laughter.
"Whatever the hell you want." Bellamy answered as wells shook his head, waddling away. Audrey's smile dropped slightly as she looked over at wells, who was limping over to the drop ship, then she turned to Bellamy, who was already staring at her with wonder.
She frowned at him slightly, pulling a face as she spun on her heel, following wells. Bellamy watched as Audrey walked away. He wanted to know what her deal was- why she really was down here. He did notice how a handle stuck out of her waist belt as her jacket rose up slightly. Now he frowned, why did she have a gun? He couldn't help but let his mind travel to shumway. What if he sent her down here, to make sure he did what he was supposed to do.
He didn't think for a second as he walked past all the cheering kids and towards the drop ship Audrey had entered. He noticed how she was crouched down, looking through some boxes in the second level. "What are you trying to find?" He asked, making her jump.
"Jeez, has anyone told you not to sneak up on someone like that?" She sighed as she stood up, turning to him.
"What's with the gun?" He was quick to ask her, making her frown. He raised a brow when he suddenly reached behind her, making her quickly snap in to action, grabbing his arm and pushing him against the wall of the drop ship- her other arm against his neck.
She pulled out her gun and pressed it again his temple. "Listen here tough guy, you may think youre in charge here, but your not. I know your little secret, how you actually got your ass on the drop ship. Where's your gun?" She hummed, narrowing her eyes at him.
His eyes widened slightly as he took in the girls words. "I don't know what you're talking about." He shook his head making her let out a breathy laugh.
"Of course. I heard what you did. Now it makes sense why you're forcing all these kids to take off their wristband, so the ark don't come down here and kill you. Does shooting the chancellor ring any bells Bellamy?" She taunted him slightly, her gun still pressed against his temple.
"How-" he questioned as she shook her head.
"Let's just say I heard it through the grape vine." She shrugged her shoulders. "Next time you try sneak up on me again and take my gun, I will shoot your ass- got it blake?" She tilted her head slightly. She couldn't kill him now, she could use the information against him for a while. She didn't have to kill him straight away. If the ark never came down, she didn't have to kill him. Shumway would never know.
She slowly placed her gun back, removing her arm from the stunned man. But she regretted turning around, her back facing him, giving him the opportunity to grab her and her gun, Audrey now against the wall-arm against her neck and gun pointed at her head.
She let out a grunt as the back of her head made contact with the wall. "My time to talk, I don't know who you are or what you know but I'm not gonna have you threaten me. Now it's my turn to ask questions. What's the real reason your down here and where did you get your gun?" Bellamy questioned her, his eyes piercing into hers.
"You have fire, I admire that." Audrey hummed as he scoffed, his arm tightening against her neck. "Okay, okay. I heard that they were sending 100 criminals to the ground and I attacked a guard and stole his gun, sneaking onto the drop ship. I wanted to know what earth was like. But I overheard that guard talking about how jaha was missing and I connected the dots from there." She quickly spoke, the lie coming out perfect. "Now please can you remove your arm from my neck because I do not want a bruise. We don't have to be enemies here blake- I even think we could be good friends." She innocently spoke as he sighed, removing his arm from the girls neck. "Now my gun?" She held her hand out, looking up at the man, his hair wet but still slicked back. He hesitated for a minute, but he kept his hand on the gun.
"Don't think I won't hesitate to kill you if you run your mouth about it." He told her, his breath fanning against her cheek, due to the fact he was in her face.
Audrey smiled innocently, leaning forward. "That's if I don't kill you first." She told him, leaning backwards and away from Bellamy, taking her gun back. "Nice conversation blake. We should do this again." She nodded her head as she walked away from him and climbed down the ladder to the bottom floor. Maybe she didn't have to kill him after all. Maybe she could get him on her side.

I think I'm doing good with the amount of updates I'm doing recently with all my books. Quite proud of myself tbh. Also I I've Audrey so far and her whole character. She's such a manipulative person which we love! I find Bellamys and Audrey's interactions hilarious tbh like?? Both cocky people trying to survive.
