When Seokjin returned to his mansion after a long day at his Japanese restaurant, he was at a loss for words. The emotions that dominated his mind were unfathomable. He was ecstatic to see his 'puppy face.'

For years, he had been wondering what had happened to her after he graduated.

She was a cute, confident junior. He could recall her excitement whenever he was in the vicinity. There were a few Asians at that Swiss university. She was a breath of fresh air. She had such a passion for baking. Her gourmet muffins and cupcakes don't even begin to compare to her decadent desserts.

His dorm was brimming with treats. She made sure he had enough sugary treats to last him several days. He'd find an unexpected gift left on his bed. A box of fairy donuts His roommates was always overjoyed whenever Puppy Face and her friends came over.

She was clearly head over heels in love with him. When she looked at him, her eyes glowed with affection. Her devotion made him nervous at times.

Puppy Face was his biggest fan before he met his girlfriend. She wore t-shirts with his face and was the loudest cheerleader at soccer games or wherever he was competing. She was always near him, waving and calling his name, complimenting him on his good looks, and even when he was sweaty after a workout on the field with his friends.

She would simply offer to carry his sports bags, but he kept refusing. She was everywhere.

He genuinely cares about her. She did everything she could to catch his attention. Despite the fact that she was always there for him, things became more complicated when he met SungKyumg, his lovely Chinese-Korean girlfriend. SungKyung pursued him as well, and after several attempts to ask him out, he agreed.

He chose to date Sung in his final year to dispel rumors that he and Puppy face were dating each other. And when their so-called relationship was discovered by the faculty, he had no choice but to deal with the situation.

Maybe Puppy Face will stop pursuing him romantically, but he underestimated the tenacity of unrequited love. She didn't let anything stop her from competing for his love. He couldn't hurt her by telling her. She was a constant in his life and his little light. She made him smile until Sung entered his life. The complications began. Sung despised Puppy Face with all her heart.

She couldn't get his puppy face out of his life. The latter would simply smile brightly and inquire whether it was illegal to spoil someone with treats. Puppy face was devastated to learn that he had been dating Sung, but this did not deter her. She still sent him treats, despite the fact that she never dropped by his dorm room unannounced. Sung warned her to stay away. It was bizarre. She was respectful of his relationship, but she always told him she loved him. She was adamant that he understand how much he is loved and cherished. Even if he couldn't return her feelings, he was always aware of her presence.

Trouble entered paradise after months of dating. He and Sung would fight and argue about Puppy's constant presence in their lives. He felt like a husband who is having an affair with his mistress.

The incident became so heated between them that he just wanted to break up, but Sung would crawl back and apologize for her unjustified jealousy of 'puppy face' after a day.

Flashback -8 years ago

'How come you can't see it, Seokjin...that puppy face of yours wants you...you're so blind not to see it!"

In the privacy of his dorm room, Sung yelled. Fortunately, his two roommates were not yet home.

"She isn't dangerous, Sung. How many times do I have to tell you that Puppy Face respects our relationship? She never hit on me and was always pleasant. Give her some leniency. She was my little friend before you arrived, and rejecting her friendship would be cruel." He attempted to console Sung, who was crying.

She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand, her eyes filled with frustration as she looked at Jin.

"Then...just inform her to stop making your cupcakes. I'm your girlfriend....even if I can't make those stupid fairy cupcakes, I can order the best for you." With inner frustrations, she flung her arms around her.

"Sung, please stop being so pettish about Puppy," Seokjin said, his eyes wide with curiosity. "Did she ever tell you she wanted me? She never ever flirted with me in front of you. Her only crime was that she sent me sweet treats," Jin explained.

"Oh my goodness, Seokjin. Everyone on campus thinks she'd make an excellent girlfriend. Get rid of her...right now!!! If you do not, I will!" Sung was ranting and raving for a few minutes before storming out like a raging mother bear.

Seokjin sat down on his bed, deflated. When did his life become so complicated?

He knew deep down that over the course of two years, he had grown to care for the exuberant and cheerful 'Puppy face,' but he wouldn't or couldn't admit it. His friends knew he had feelings for the small make-up-free girl. Who was unaware of her outer beauty... Puppy's face didn't care about her outward appearance, and her personality and cheer made her a favorite among faculty and students. She was well-liked, and some even secretly hoped she'd get the guy because they despised how SungKyung treated the well-meaning girl.

He couldn't believe how embarrassed and humiliated she felt during his graduation week because of SungKuyung. He had never felt so disgusted and let down by his girlfriend. He was enraged by her open insults on Puppy Face.

He could almost feel the deep pain Puppy's face felt when Sung insulted her with the most cutting and degrading words when his dorm mates showed him the viral video. Puppy's expression indicated that she was a better man, and she even apologized to Sung. That was the moment she reclaimed the hearts of the students.

Then something strange occurred. She was nowhere to be found on campus. He spent a few days at A ski Resort with his best friends. When he returned, he learned that Puppy Face's father had died in a car accident. Her demeanor had changed when she returned a few days later. She was so quiet and distant. She didn't say anything to anyone, and he didn't know how to approach her because she stopped sending him small treats; it was as if he didn't exist anymore. When he and Sung were near her, she would make a beeline for them and basically ignore them.

To be honest, it was the most lonely day he'd ever had without her love and admiration.

She had lost her joy. He began to realize how much he took her loving care for granted, and the most painful lesson he learned was that if you don't appreciate the gifts in your life, they will exit your life.

Sung even warned him, no, threatened him, that if Puppy face sent him any more gifts, she would force her father, who was one of the college's shareholders, to revoke Puppy face's scholarship. Seokjin could not allow this to happen.

When he saw the malicious heart of his girlfriend. He knew he didn't want to pursue this relationship any further. She was exhausting, entitled, and self-centered, but he liked her for the time being. SungKyung was envious of everyone in his life, even ranting about him when she saw his photo with another girl. It was at Jungkook and Eunjin's-the Jeon Twins'-birthday party. He took a photo with Eunjin, who is close to a younger sister. Yoongi, on the other hand, saw right through her and told him that he doesn't like or trust the Chinese-Korean girl. He told him to get rid of her because she is a pain and a fake. NAmjoon, on the other hand, thought the girl was perfect for him because she was beautiful, and pretty was always Soekjins' type.

He missed Puppy Face. She made it a point to avoid them at all costs. He would go into the campus kitchens on purpose to see if she was there.

But even her bubbly personality was missing. She didn't take the time to make the most unique desserts or cupcakes for him. His gaze was always drawn to her on campus, but she became an enigma. It was felt by the students and witnessed by the faculty. She just did her work quietly and didn't ask questions in class, and most of the students assumed it was because of her anchor's death and funeral. Losing her father was the pinnacle of her grief, and losing Seokjin forever changed her.

He realized that he didn't miss the treats so much as he missed the person who made them. He recalls almost rejecting her advances 15 times before she gave up and stopped asking him out to places. Only to spend time with the extremely attractive student, he suddenly realized how hurt she must have been, but she never stopped loving him.

Then, on his graduation day, she stood in front of the door. His heart was pounding with joy just looking at her; even though her expressions were solemn, he was overjoyed to see her in front of him.

He was caught off guard when she simply smiled and handed him a lovely gift bag. He accepted it with furrowed brows and inquisitive eyes.

"Erm...I'm sorry for just badging in like that," she admitted warily, "but I want to apologize for all the discomfort, distress, and general annoyance in your life. I was conceited and self-centered."

"Puppy face..."He tried to speak, but she just cut him off in the middle of his sentence.

Her eyes were serious as he saw her gulp. She was expressionless.

"...no, I have to tell you this. I love you, Seokjin, but I promise you today that I will try to unlove you, forget about you, and...never ever run after you. I apologize if I made you uncomfortable or ruined your relationship with Kyung. I sincerely apologize." Her eyes were swollen and pained behind her glasses. She had a bewildered expression on her face that made her look so strange. It's like she had to quickly say what she wanted to say and escape from his presence.

Seokjin was visibly pale as he looked down on her nervous demeanor "Don't say that puppy face. You're never those things you mentioned. I apologize for what Kyung did to you. You didn't ruin my relationship." He stroked her hair around her small ears, making her shed tears because it was the first time he touched her willingly.

Deep in his heart, he wanted to hug her tightly, but he just missed that opportunity.

"It...it doesn't matter now, Seokjin," she simply shrugged. "I wish you the best in your life, future, and career. Please try to forget you ever met me...You can throw the gifts away... it's up to you...bye, Kim Seokjin."

When she turned around, he realized right there and then, that his affection for her wasn't just friendship, but he loved his Puppy face. But he wasted his chance and he couldn't put her career in jeopardy of his jealous girlfriend.

He just couldn't pursue her, he was leaving Switzerland after his graduation. Then he was signed by a modeling agent to present various brands and design houses like Versace who is a personal favorite of his - Armani, Gucci, Louis Vittone, and Calvin Klein, on the fashion ramps of Europe and the USA. He was highly successful. Appearing on numerous fashion magazine covers.

He became an award-winning model, but he decided to join some of the Bangtan hyung-line (Namjoon and Yoongi) to complete his postgraduate studies in Business. At the Seoul National University.

He returned to Switzerland, hoping to see Puppy again, but he heard that she and her mother had moved to another city. She transferred to another top school in Switzerland after leaving college due to SungKyung's victimization. He never heard anything else from her. He dumped SungKyung after graduation.

He began his Japanese restaurants, which helped him become a self-made billionaire. He was one of Seoul's most eligible bachelors, and he had numerous dates with the most beautiful women, but he just couldn't commit to a relationship.

There was something missing. He was constantly thinking about his Puppy face. Her big eyes were hidden behind the dorky glasses, her boyish styled hair, and her unassuming clothes. But he missed her dynamic personality. Her cheerfulness and positive outlook on life.

He became fabulously rich enough to purchase the largest yacht and build a private mansion in an exclusive neighborhood. He and Yoongi reside near each other on the same estate. He purchased several penthouses in various countries. He owns a few luxury cars and continues to be a frequent guest judge on cooking shows, particularly in Japan.

But, despite his wealth, something was missing in his hectic, lonely life...a genuine woman to share his life with.

End of flashback

Seokjin sighed as he sat with a bottle of cold cider on his second-story balcony, looking out over the skyscrapers. His house is built on a hill. His parents want him to marry and have a family - a faithful and loving wife and a few children. But Seokjin isn't ready to settle down. He wants to marry for love. SungKyung called him a few weeks ago. She has returned to Korea and wishes to open a new confectionary specializing in chocolate and fudge sweet treats. He knows she wants to see him again, but he isn't interested in her right now. That book was closed after she humiliated and alienated Puppy face.

He smiled as he remembered the gift she had gotten him...a soccer jersey with his birthday number and name embroidered on it. She was always going out of her way to be a blessing in his life. He was smitten with his jersey. One of the colors of their national soccer team.

Despite the fact that he had a girlfriend, his parents were aware of the girl who was pursuing him. That was because his roommates told his parents during one of their visits to Switzerland. They even ate some of the Puppy Face sweet treats and enjoyed them. They even met the charming SungKyung and were happy for him, but his mother was quiet about his relationship and told him not to commit too soon.

A year ago, he didn't know what to think about it. But after his graduation, he could see the relief on his mother's face when she learned he had dumped SungKyung. And he knew his mother was like Yoongi; they saw through his girlfriends, which he didn't even suspect, but later discovered her devious attitude And such a woman will never be the mother of his children.

He couldn't believe he had tracked down Kang Mayla...His Puppy face. But what puzzled him was her transformation into one of the most alluring women. His Puppy appearance matured. Her eyes were so expressive, even her nutbrown hair was so long and silky, and her full pink lips made his body crave in desire. He instantly knew he wanted to be a part of her life.

The only issue with his improved Puppy face is that she has lost her joy, cheer, and optimism. Her warmth had faded. She grew into an icy, unapproachable young lady. He couldn't believe she'd changed so drastically.

What happened to his Puppy Face?

She doesn't want anything to do with him, which frustrated him. He found her and made it clear that he would not let her leave his life again. Even if it means humiliating himself, he will work hard to restore the sparkle in her eyes.

He is determined to win her back. He needs her; she is his light.

...And no matter what, he just can't let life steal her smile away.

A/n I hope you like the update. Seokjin is reminded of his past.

1. Do you think he will be able to win Puppy face back?

2. Why do you think Puppy face is so adamant to reject his advances?

3. Will Sung be a stumbling block in his path again?
