( August '94 )

"Why do we have to wake up at this ungodly hour?" Ron groaned.

Ron was very upset at the fact that they had to get up early to head to the Quidditch World Cup. Cassandra didn't mind. Everyone else was super tired and they all had a long walk ahead of them.

"Ron, you should just be grateful that you're going to the Quidditch World Cup in the first place." Cassandra stated. "Mr. Weasley, who did you say we were meeting up with?"

Cassandra wasn't in the room while Mr. Weasley was discussing the people they were meeting up with.

"Amos and Cedric Diggory." Mr. Weasley replied. "Amos is a friend of mine at the Ministry and he would love to meet you and Harry."

"Did you hear that, Cassandra?" Ginny whispered. "Cedric Diggory is going to be going with us."

"Alright, you're done talking for the day." Cassandra said, rolling her eyes and playfully pushing Ginny away.

"What am I hearing?" Hermione asked. "Does Cassandra Snape like Cedric Diggory?"

"Not you teasing me too." Cassandra huffed. "I do not like Cedric Diggory."

"Mhm, if you say so." Hermione said in a sing-song voice.

Cassandra rolled her eyes once more and then caught up with Harry and Ron. She heard Hermione and Ginny giggling behind her.

"So Harry, are you excited to go to your first ever Quidditch World Cup?" Cassandra asked.

"Yeah, I love quidditch, so hopefully it'll be fun." Harry responded. "What about you Cassie?"

"I went to the last one. It was crazy busy but really fun." Cassandra replied.

"Is it easy to get lost?" Harry inquired.

"Yes, very easy," Cassandra answered honestly. "But don't worry, if we stick together, nobody will get lost."

"I hope Ginny gets lost." Ron said.

"Ron, that's not very nice of you." Harry said.

Ron just shrugged.

~~

"Arthur!" A voice said. "It's about time son."

"Sorry Amos, some of us had a sleepy start." Mr. Weasley said, eyeing Ron. "This is Amos Diggory everyone. Works with me, at the Ministry."

Cedric jumped down from the tree.

"This strapping young man must be Cedric, am I right?" Mr. Weasley asked. He went to shake Cedric's hand.

"Yes sir." Cedric replied.

Hermione and Ginny eyed Cassandra and she kicked them both without anyone noticing. Cassandra walked a little ahead of Hermione and Ginny. Cedric noticed her and stopped walking, waiting to talk to her.

"Hey," Cedric said.

"Hi," Cassandra replied.

"Excited?" Cedric asked.

"Yep, very." Cassandra answered.

She felt awkward knowing that Hermione and Ginny were watching her every move. Those two were menaces.

The two didn't talk anymore because they were reaching the portkey. Cassandra stood next to Cedric and Hermione, ready to grab onto the boot any second.

"Why are they all standing around that manky old boot?" Harry asked Fred and George.

"That isn't just any manky old boot, mate." Fred replied. "It's a portkey. Time to go!"

"What's a portkey?" Harry asked.

"Grab on, Harry." Cassandra said.

Harry grabbed onto the boot just before it was time to go. They were lifted into the air and then were told to let go. Cassandra hit the ground hard. She forgot how to land herself properly every time she traveled by portkey.

Cedric helped Cassandra up off the ground and she brushed the dirt off her pants. The two then followed the rest of their merry clan to the campgrounds. The Diggorys had a separate tent that was right across from Mr. Weasley's tent.

Cassandra was sharing a triple bunk bed with Hermione and Ginny. The girls had their own separate room but it still couldn't fit three beds spread out. The girls sat on the floor in a circle since they had some down time before they were needed to go.

"So what was all that with Cedric?" Ginny inquired.

"It was nothing." Cassandra said. "I don't like him like you two think I do."

"You totally do." Hermione spoke. "He's cute, you should definitely ask him out."

"No, I'm not doing that." Cassandra replied. "I told you two, I don't like him like that."

"That's not what you'll be saying in a couple of weeks." Hermione said.

~~

Cassandra felt the excitement as she followed the Weasleys to their seats. It felt like her heart was smiling. She stood in between Cedric and Hermione. She knew she would be teased about it later.

Cedric stood close to Cassandra because she was the only one there he really spoke to. He also had grown a liking to her style, her personality and her attitude.

"Hey, Cassandra." Cedric practically yelled so he could be heard.

"Hey," Cassandra smiled. She looked down and tried to not yelp. She was a little afraid of heights. It was weird for a quidditch player to be afraid of heights.

"How's your break been?" Cedric wondered.

"It's been going okay, it just got a lot better." Cassandra replied. "How has your break been?"

"It's been pretty great." Cedric answered. "You're right though, it just got a whole lot better."

"Watching the Quidditch World Cup is so fascinating. It's amazing."

"I agree, it is pretty stunning."

"Harry and Cassandra, could you go get some drinks?" Mr. Weasley asked.

The two nodded before heading down to get some drinks from a stand. While they were standing in line, they saw Draco Malfoy.

"Well, well, if it isn't Cassandra Rose and Harry Potter." Draco Malfoy said, coming up to Harry and Cassandra.

"Leave us alone, Malfoy." Cassandra muttered. "Also Harry knows so you don't have to call me Rose around him."

"Oh does he now?" Draco raised an eyebrow before crossing his arms over his chest.

"Yes, he does." Cassandra replied. "Now leave us alone."

"I don't think so." Draco said.

Thankfully, the lady at the food stand handed them their drinks before Draco had a chance to say another word. Cassandra and Harry walked off quickly to avoid more conflict with Draco.

~~

Death Eaters had arrived at the campsite. They were burning down tents and had the muggle workers up in the air. Cassandra and Harry were separated from the rest of the group and were trying to find their way.

Cassandra grabbed Harry's hand and ran. The Death Eaters were looking for them, she knew it. She had been having dreams about Death Eaters looking for her, but wasn't sure when or where they were looking for her. Cassandra and Harry crouched down behind a tent.

"Stop, those are my kids!" Cassandra heard Mr. Weasley yell.

Cassandra wasn't sure what was going on but when she and Harry stood up, they saw many men pointing wands towards them.

"Well, I suppose you can have them." Barty Crouch said.

Mr. Weasley was worried about them. They had a whole conversation with Barty Crouch which involved a house elf named Winky getting fired, Mr. Weasley almost getting into a fight, and many other eventful things.

It wasn't a good way to end what was supposed to be a great night.ย
