"Did you bring your father's cloak like I asked you to?" Hagrid asked Harry.
Hagrid had wanted to see Cassandra and Harry, asking them to bring James Potter's invisibility cloak with them.
"Yeah I brought the cloak, but Hagrid, where are we going?" Harry asked.
Cassandra stepped on a branch, cracking it in half.
"You'll see soon enough." Hagrid answered. "Pay attention, this is important."
"What's with the flower?" Cassandra asked.
"Hagrid, have you combed your hair?" Harry asked.
"In fact, I have." Hagrid replied. "You might have to try the same thing."
"Hagrid!" A woman's voice called.
Hagrid started walking towards the voice.
"Oh, put the cloak on!" Hagrid said.
Harry put the cloak on over him and Cassandra.
"Oh Hagrid!" Madame Maxine said. "I thought perhaps you wouldn't come here. I thought perhaps you had forgotten me."
"I could never forget you." Hagrid smiled.
Cassandra and Harry shared a look of disgust.
"What is it that you wanted to show me?" Madame Maxine asked. "When we spoke earlier, you sounded so exhilarated."
"You'll be glad you came, trust me." Hagrid said.
The four of them walked up to a line of bushes. Dragons were in cages, breathing fire. Cassandra saw Charlie Weasley amongst those who were trying to get the dragons to calm down.
"Dragons? That's the first task?" Harry asked. "You're joking!"
"Come on Harry, they're just extremely misunderstood creatures." Hagrid said.
Cassandra looked at Harry. His face was as pale as a ghost.
"Harry, we got this." Cassandra said as the two walked back to the school. "Igor is probably going to tell Krum and Madame Maxine is probably going to tell Fleur so we have to tell Cedric."
"You can tell him." Harry sighed.
"Why me?" Cassandra asked. "We both can."
"He's in love with you, not me." Harry said.
Cassandra rolled her eyes.
"Harry, you're coming with me to tell him, no matter what you say."
~~
"Cedric!" Cassandra called.
Cedric was walking in the courtyard with his friends but stopped when Cassandra called him.
"Yes, Cassandra? Harry?" Cedric asked. He was confused as to why Harry was there too.
"We found out something about the first task." Harry said.
"What is it?" Cedric asked.
"The first task is dragons." Cassandra stated.
"Dragons?" Cedric asked, shocked.
"We saw them last night." Harry explained. "It has got to do something with the first task for sure. There's no way there's four dragons in the Forbidden Forest for no reason."
"Alright," Cedric said. "Thank you both for sharing this amazing information with me. I just love battling dragons."
Cassandra admired Cedric's sarcasticness.
~~
Soon enough the first task comes up. It was breakfast time and Cassandra wasn't up to eating.
"Cassie, you need to eat." Hermione said.
"Hermione, I can't eat. I'm so nervous that I'll throw up if I eat." Cassandra said.
"At least try, for me." Hermione said.
"Hey," Harry said, sitting down next to Cassandra.
"Hey," Cassandra said.
The two had a brilliant plan on how to retrieve the golden egg from the dragon. All they needed now was to know what dragon they were facing up against. The two ate an apple then made their way over to the champion tent. Cedric, Fleur, and Krum were already there.
"Are you nervous?" Cedric asked Harry and Cassandra.
"Hell yes." Cassandra replied.
"Me too."
"I'm sure you two are going to do great." Cedric smiled. "After the task, can I speak with you Cassie?"
"Yeah of course." Cassandra replied.
Cassandra was unaware of what Cedric wanted to speak to her about but Harry knew what was going to happen. Harry gave Cassandra a hug when Rita Skeeter popped up.
"Oh how wonderful, sibling love." Rita Skeeter said, snapping a picture.
"Get out of here, Skeeter." Cedric demanded, his voice harsh. "This tent is only for friends and family of champions."
"Cedric Diggory!" Rita exclaimed, ignoring his words. "I heard you and Miss Potter have a little romance going on, do you have anything to say about that?"
"Go away." Cedric snapped.
Rita looked taken aback. Once Dumbledore and the other headmasters came into the tent, she left.
"Alright champions!" Dumbledore exclaimed. "Gather around. You all are going to pick a dragon out of this bag. You, however, cannot look. We will start with Mr. Diggory, Miss Delacour after, then Mr. Krum, and then Cassandra and Harry. Cassandra and Harry, one of you is going to pick the dragon."
Cassandra felt her stomach start to churn. She blocked out the rest of the world and starting to have an anxiety attack. It wasn't until Harry called her name that she snapped back to reality.
"Cassandra." Harry said. "Do you want to pick it?"
"No. Could you?" Cassandra asked.
Harry nodded. He stuck his hand into the bag and pulled out an orb with a Hungarian Horntail inside. Cassandra gasped. She knew Hungarian Horntails were dangerous. She locked eyes with Cedric and he blew her a kiss.
"You're now going to go in the same order to defeat the dragon and take the golden egg." Jack Dawson said.
Cassandra watched the other champions and before she knew it, it was her and Harry's turn. Cassandra and Harry exited the tent. At first the dragon didn't notice them but once it turned around, it noticed the two.
Cassandra did a somersault, avoiding the fiery breath of the dragon. Harry followed her.
"Accio broom!" Harry shouted.
They just had to wait until the broom came to them. Before they knew it, the broom was right in front of them. Harry mounted the broom and Cassandra sat down quickly behind him. Harry dodged the dragon and Cassandra scooped up the golden egg in her arms. They flew high up into the air and Cassandra muttered a spell.
"Stupify." Cassandra muttered.
The dragon was now knocked out, surprising Cassandra. She didn't think that it would be that simple. She didn't know she had the power in her to knock out the dragon in one try. They landed on the ground and went inside the tent.
"Good job, Cassandra." Cedric pulled her into a hug.
She could smell him and his scent was comforting. He let go of her and then pulled her off to a secluded corner.
"Cassie, I have a question for you." Cedric said.
"Alright, shoot."
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes."
Cedric leaned in and kissed her. She felt the butterflies in her stomach. It was perfect. Today was perfect. He was perfect.
