3 - white angel

CHAPTER 3

white angel
━━━━━━━━━━

Taehyung keeps looking at the golden watch on his wrist as the group's van is driving through Seoul this Wednesday evening.

All the others are passed out in their seats except Taehyung and Yoongi who's scrolling through his phone, downloading endless of new games for him to play.
Taehyung lets out a sigh as he looks out on the streets that were empty of people tonight, the few wandering around with big colorful umbrellas above their heads.

The rain has been pouring down all day, the subtle drumming on the BigHit building's roof somehow soothing to Taehyung who found today to be another tiring one.

One of their managers pulled Taehyung aside today and confronted him about his change of behavior lately — telling him that he should consider going to a therapist for a few weeks, see if that has an positive effect on his gloomy mood.

Why would I need a stranger to analyze me?

I can handle this on my own.

As the raindrops slowly glides down the car-window Taehyung bite his bottom lip, noticing how fast the sky is turning darker — the night setting in.

It's too late to see her now.

Closing his eyes in exasperation he leans his head back on the headrest, running his hands through his hair.

"What's on your mind lately?"

Taehyung blinks before turning his head to see Yoongi staring at him, his phone still between his pointer and thumb.

Taehyung rolls his lips together, his stare blank as he looks out the window once more — trying to escape Yoongi's intense gaze.

"You've been distant. What's up?" He continues, making Taehyung turn his head in his direction. His eyes are now closed, his head tilted back — eyes closed.
Taehyung tilt his head, the corners of his lips curving slightly upwards as he purse his lips.

"I don't know. I just—" Taehyung begins, but somehow the words gets caught in his throat, afraid to escape, afraid to be let out in the open. He swallows thickly, closing his eyes in despair.

"You're tired of everything?" Yoongi asks, his tone persistent and clear, "I know that feeling, Taehyung. Just come to me when you feel like talking."

Taehyung's lips part at his words and he looks at the older male again, watch him as his eyes are still closed, his relaxed posture so calm. It's the way that Yoongi has been through so much when he was younger, the way he himself had dealt with depression and hasty thoughts that made Taehyung realize that he was probably the only one who knew how Taehyung was feeling.

"I'll always be here."

Yoongi now opens his eyes as he turns his head to Taehyung, his face bare of an expression but his eyes tells otherwise as they glistens with affection in the faint light from the street lights flashing by them.

"Thank you Yoongi." Taehyung lets out, a small smile grazing his lips as he nods to his brother thankfully.

"Thank you."

━━━━

Okay, maybe this was fucking stupid.

Several times on his way he had stopped, wondering if he should turn around. But now he had gone too far to head back, and as the rain pebbles filled upon the big black umbrella covering his body from the rain he kept walking through the empty streets.

The rain keep on boring down mercilessly upon the heart of the city, pounding on the many rooftops and turning the streets of the downtown area into a warren of slick stones and pools of water. Taehyung hugs his body closer with his other arm, pleased that he is shielded from the large drops of rain pouring from the dark sky.
Sniffling a little he wonders if he should just go to the nearest convenience store and buy some comforting food, but then he hears it.

It can't be.

A faint hint of calm music runs smoothly along the familiar street, peaking Taehyung's interest immediately. Somehow his heart almost skips a beat as his hopes of seeing the unknown girl rises, but still he won't believe that she's actually performing in this weather.

Moving faster down the street, the volume intensifies and so does the beating in Taehyung's chest.

As he turns around the corner he spots the familiar girl, the exact same spot as she had been the last two weeks.
But this time she is all by herself, dancing with her eyes closed to a slow, sentimental song. Best Part by Daniel Cesar is playing and the soft tunes makes Taehyung stop in his tracks, watching as the glistening raindrops fall onto her skin, almost looking like they are dancing alongside with her.
Her eyes kept shut she dances passionately with such grace — it's so different from the other times she has been performing, but something about this exact dance took away Taehyungs breath.

She almost looks like an angel as she dances in a all white outfit, the material sticking to her lean body, showing off the slight muscles in her thighs and upper arms.

Taehyung furrow his brows in confusion, wondering why she is performing today — in this weather where no one is watching her.

The sight is beautiful and without thinking about it, Taehyung reach for a small piece of paper in his raincoat alongside a pen and scratch down the lines of her body proportions, drawing her brown hair that's sleeked back because of the rain, her dark brows, the curve of her body and then lastly he puts on a pair of big, white angel wings.

Suddenly the music has stopped, making Taehyung dart his eyes to hers that are now open. Her eyes widens slightly as it occurs to her that she hadn't been alone during her performance. She bows politely at him before turning around with a pink tint on her cheeks, as she starts to gather her stuff.

Biting his lip Taehyung steps forward slowly, closing the distance between the two. As he comes close, he lifts his umbrella on top of her head — her crunched body picking up the few coins she made today now hidden from the large drops of water pouring down on them.

Lifting her head up she send him a closed-up smile, one that makes Taehyung forget about the cold water all of a sudden.

"You are really talented." Taehyung finally manage to say, seeing how the girl bows at him again her smile never leaving her pink lips.

"What's your name?" He asks again, a little louder this time since the rain intensifies, the pounding on the umbrella making the girl giggle.

"I'm Harin." The girl let out with a small smile, using her t-shirt to dry her face, but it has no use since it's drenched as well.

As she speaks her bottom lip shivers slightly, making Taehyung take off his raincoat immediately. He hands it to her, seeing how she didn't bring any dry clothes. Harin puts up her hands to reject his kind offer, but Taehyung smile behind his mask, making puppy eyes to her as he keeps his hand with the raincoat out for her to grab.

"I have my umbrella. I'll be fine." He says assuringly, "And you can't get sick. I'll be here again next Wednesday to see you."

Harin drapes the warm raincoat over her shoulders and smile bright, her dark-brown eyes almost sparkling as she looks at Taehyung.

Before she can thank him he turns around, wandering into the dark night with the umbrella over his head, the dancing raindrops falling around him.

Leaving behind Harin who stands and wonders what his name might be.

Smiling to herself she turns around, putting her hands inside the warm coat.
As her fingers runs over something, she reach for it and unfold it, her lips parting slightly as her eyes catch ahold of the image on the neatly folded paper.

A beautiful, white angel dancing in the midst of the dark, pouring rain.
