Lilith and Edward ran hand-in-hand into the field that was used as the battleground. They saw that the Cullens were standing in front of a large fire that was filled its the remains of all the newborns that were just killed.

"How long?" Edward questioned Alice with a sense of urgency.

Alice turned to look at the couple, hiding the glee she felt when she saw them together like normal before answering, "A few minutes. Maybe ten?"

"The pack needs to leave." Carlisle said, "The Volturi won't honour a truce with the werewolves."

"He's right. They'll kill us all if they saw them here." Oliver stated, knowing the ways they worked. They never took kindly when it came to alliances with the wolves and Oliver didn't exactly have the energy to try and defend themselves against them at that point in time.

Jacob ran out from within the trees towards the field to nod at the other pack members when one last straggler of a newborn made his presence known by appearing in front of the wolves. Leah snapped her jaws at the newborn vampire before lunging at him, the vampire catching her mid lunge and began to try and wrap his arms around her neck, "Leah, don't!" Edward yelled out as she ran towards them along with Jacob who jumped up and grabbed the vampire by its neck and knocking him off of Leah.

The two tumbled on the ground and the vampire managed to wrap its arms around Jacob's body during it, causing Lilith gasp out as she remembered Jasper's warning during training. The vampire didn't hesitate to squeeze, and a loud crunching sound was heard followed by the horrid sound of Jacob howling out as he bones broke beneath him, causing Lilith to shut her eyes as he continued to howl and whine in pain.

The vampire finally let Jake go and the wolf flopped to the ground weak, the rest of the wolves lunging at the vampire to tear him to pieces angrily while Lilith didn't hesitate to run to Jake's side, who had turned back into his human form, "You're gonna be okay." Lilith insisted shakily as she helped him roll over onto his back, "Carlisle and my dad are gonna take care of you, okay?"

Carlisle and Oliver came over and inspected Jacob's body, "The bones on the right half of his body are shattered." The vampire noted.

"God, I knew this was going to happen—this is why I didn't want you guys involved." Lilith scolded him, practically pulling at her hair in worry as she watched him continue to groan and have no idea what to do about it, "Bella is gonna kill me and you because of this."

The wolves then cane out from the trees, all completely turned back into their human forms and clothed, "Jacob, you idiot! I had it!" Leah snapped at him.

"Leah!" Sam shouted warningly as he went to Carlisle and Jake's side.

"I need to set the bones before his accelerated healing kicks in." Carlisle explained as he tried to move Jake's arm around, "It's already starting."

"We need to get him out of here." Oliver said to his coworker, "We're not gonna win a fight with the Volturi after the fight we just had."

"We'll take him back to Billy's." Sam said.

Carlisle and Oliver nodded, "We'll be there as soon as we can." Carlisle responded before moving out of the way, with Edward having to pry Lilith away from Jacob so the pack could carefully lift him up while he let out sharp breaths and groans from the pain.

"They're coming." Alice exclaimed with worry as she watched the pack slowly take Jake away, giving it as a warning that they might need to hurry and get out of range.

It was less than seconds after Alice's warning that Jane, Alec, Dimitri and Felix were able to be seen coming towards them all dressed in their distinctive black coats. The four of them bypassed the fire and stood in front of the Cullen and Bailey families before all taking their hoods off at the same time.

"Impressive." Jane commented, "I've never seen a coven escape an assault of this magnitude intact."

"We were lucky." Carlisle replied before pointing at the Bailey family, "And we had help."

"I don't doubt that." Jane responded back, her tone implying that they definitely did have help, but, what actually helped them wasn't just the Bailey witches.

Alec smirked, "It appears we missed an entertaining fight." He always did like to see a good fight, especially when witches were involved. He got his love from witches from Aro, and when the Bailey girl was in front of him in Italy; he was excited to see what she could do.

"Yes." Jane agreed with her brother, "It's not often we'd rendered unnecessary."

"If you'd arrived a half hour ago; you would have fulfilled your purpose." Edward said stiffly as he gripped onto Lilith's side.

"Pity." Jane muttered sarcastically before her eyes moved beside them and noticed the small girl with red eyes that was stood behind the two families, "You missed one."

The young girl looked terrified as Jasper stood beside her, beginning to use her gift to calm her down. Carlisle looked at the girl before back at Jane, "We offered her asylum in exchange for her surrender." He explained. They saw how young she was and how terrified she actually was to be fighting in the first place; the girl jumped at the opportunity to live and not fight once it was offered to her by Carlisle and Esme.

"That wasn't yours to offer." Jane reminded him before turning back to the young girl, "Why did you come?" She questioned her. The girl didn't answer straight away and Jane used her gift against her in retaliation, sending the girl buckling down on her knees, screaming out in pain. Lilith clenched her eyes shut once again as she listened to the shrieks, gripping onto Edward's shirt as she pictured herself in that position if the Volturi wanted to, "Who created you?" Jane continued to ask as the young girl was on the ground continuing to scream out in pain while the two families couldn't do anything about it.

"You don't need to do that. She'll tell you anything you want to know." Esme spoke up, hating how the young girl was being treated.

"I know." Jane responded as she let go of her ability against her, causing the girl to gasp and cough as she felt the relief of it.

"I don't know!" The girl stammered as she tried to pull herself up from the ground, "Riley wouldn't tell us. He said our thoughts weren't safe."

"Her name was Victoria." Edward answered for her, "Perhaps you knew her." Jane didn't respond as Edward looked into her mind, seeing that they did in fact know about it but chose to do nothing.

"Edward, if the Volturi has knowledge of Victoria, they would've stopped her." Oliver interjected, trying to make sure that it didn't sound like they were accusing them and accidentally starting another war with the Volturi, "Isn't that right, Jane?"

"Of course." The vampire lied, knowing full and well that Edward was right, "Felix." She called on.

Felix took a step towards the young girl, "She didn't know what she was doing!" Esme argued, causing Jane to hold a hand out to stop Felix from going any closer, "We'll... take responsibility for her."

"Give her a chance." Carlisle pleaded.

"The Volturi don't give second chances. Keep that in mind." Jane reminded them, her eyes turning to look at Lilith, "Caius will be interested to know that she's still mortal."

"The date is set." Lilith lied smoothly, knowing that they hadn't agreed on a date yet, then had just agreed that it would go ahead of her parents couldn't find a way out of it safely, "And we promised that I wouldn't be a danger to you. We have upheld that promise."

Jane let it go, taking note of what the witch had said, "Take care of that, Felix." She ordered the large vampire, "I'd like to go home."

Felix walked towards the young girl and the Cullen family stepped out of the way, knowing that they couldn't win in a fight considering how they weren't at full strength from already fighting and let the vampire walk towards the young girl who was still on the ground. The girl gasped and screamed as Felix picked her up and Edward bent down towards her ear, "Close your eyes." He untrusted and Lilith clenched then shut just as the young girl had her head knocked off, her scream being cut short.

Lilith ran out of her parents car towards the pack members and Bella, "I came as soon as I could!" She exclaimed with a hint of rush in her tone, slamming the car door behind her.

Bella didn't hesitate and instantly pulled her friend into a tight hug, "Thank God, you're okay." Bella exhaled, "I've been worried sick."

Lilith seemed confused and pulled away, "You're not mad at me?" She questioned. She thought she would've at least had a stern talking to by now.

Bella looked confused also, "Why would I be mad?"

Lilith motioned her arms around, pointing at the situation they were currently in. Her boyfriend was currently inside getting his bones re-broken to have them grow correctly after being attacked by a newborn vampire and almost losing. Before Lilith could respond, Jake let out a a blood curdling yell and Lilith watched as Bella flinched from it, "Exhibit A." Lilith sighed.

"As much as it hurts to see and hear him like that, we all knew what we were getting ourselves into. Jake included." Bella reassured her friend, "And we're all just glad that you're going to be okay."

"We're not out of the woods just yet, but, we're close." The newborn army and Victoria was only half the battle, and the worst of the worst was still yet to come. It was only a matter of when he would.

"But, you'll be okay, and everyone is gonna make sure of it." Bella said again, trying to force a little positivity on to Lilith so she wouldn't feel constantly like her life sucked, "And now that you have Edward back in your life properly, you get to feel completely happy again." Bella was extremely excited when Lilith told her that her and Edward were back together, she was a little sad that she had to be told over text, but, she understood that considering the circumstances that they had to be apart. But, they got to see each other now, and it was always better late than never.

Lilith rolled her eyes, "Bella, this isn't the time to be talking about this. Your boyfriend is literally having his bones broken over and over again just a few feet away from us."

Bella made a face, "Fine." She pouted, "But, we're talking about this later." She wanted to have a distraction from the fact that Jake was being hurt; but she understood that it might not look as good to other people.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." Lilith grinned and pulled Bella into a hug, glad that the risk towards her has lessened, "Now go be there for your boyfriend." She said, lightly pushing the brunette towards the house, the girl waving at her before running inside to be by Jacob's side.

"Look who finally decided to show up." Paul called out as he and the rest of the pack boys walked over towards Lilith—who instantly walked over to all of them and pulled them into a group hug.

They all groaned considering they thought it was lame of her to do but hugged her back to make her happy, "Thank you." She whispered to them. She didn't exactly have time to thank them before everything turned horribly, but she needed to let them know she was thankful for what they did. If it weren't for them, she wasn't sure if she would've made it a long time ago. "But, please never agree to do something like this again. I don't want to think about if we aren't as lucky the next time." She added. She would never be able to forget how they were there for her from day one and they would be with her for a long time. She just hoped that one day she would be able to repay them and make them feel as happy and free as they did for her.

"We'd do anything for you, munchkin. We just want to make sure you're okay." Jared said into the hug, "Even if you're dating a leech." He added.

It was safe to say that the pack boys weren't exactly too happy to find out that Lilith got back together with the Cullen vampire, but, from the way Bella explained it to them, Lilith was Edward's mate and it was a shock that Lilith held out for so long considering everything was screaming at her to be with him again. They understood because they related it to their imprint situation and how they couldn't stay away from them or be mad at them for anything.

Lilith fake glared at him as they all pulled away, "Yeah, does he know you're even here?" Embry questioned, "They guy would huff and puff whenever you had to be here, and you weren't even together at that point. I can only imagine the fight he put up now."

"He knows, and he was fine with it." Lilith said pointedly, "Not that I have to ask for permission either."

"Sure." Paul said sarcastically, "I'm sure you didn't steal his car—even though you probably don't have a licence— and sneak away to come and meet us, like we're some dirty little secret of yours."

"First of all, I have my licence. I just don't have a car because I set the last two on fire accidentally." Lilith started to argue, "And secondly, you aren't dirty little secret worthy."

Paul placed a hand over his chest in offence, "I would just like to point out that I will never want to get into a car with Lilith after the information she just shared." Jared announced, holding up his hand.

"It's not like someone was in the car." Lilith defended, "I wasn't anywhere near them either, it just happened. Magic is hard, okay?"

"Either way..." Sam interjected as he walked over towards them with Emily by his side, "We're just glad to see you getting back to normal, even if Edward was the one to help."

"Well you guys had something to do with it also." Lilith reminded them all, "I probably would've been still in my room, crying my life away if you guys didn't drag me out so often." Jared chuckled into his hand as he recalled a memory of him literally dragging her out of her bed, refusing to let her waste her life away crying while watching Netflix. He listened to her whine and grab onto everything she could to stay in her room, but he didn't give up and they ended up having a great day. Lilith's eyes softened, "But, I'll never be able to repay you or thank you enough for looking after me as much as you did."

"You don't need to thank us." Sam told her, "You're family, and you always will be."

Lilith felt like sobbing at his words, but, didn't want to cry anymore, even if they were happy tears. She felt like she had cried enough as she held out her arms, "Group hug?" She suggested and they all groaned once again.

"We'd love to." Emily grinned and gave a look to the boys to tell them to join in, them all listening and stomping their way over towards the witch like children but all secretly smiling once they were in the hug.

The group pulled away and Lilith let out a breath, feeling content, "Now, where's Seth? I need to yell at him for trying to take on a newborn by himself."
