The boiling blood coursing through Y/n's veins calmed down when she knocked him directly on his face. Namjoon jolted to his left side and landed on the grass from the abrupt force, clearly not able to comprehend what had happened to him.

He sat in shock, on the sparkling lush greens of the mansion, with his one hand placed on the impacted area. His cheek was burning with a heated sensation and so was my mind.

Did I just get kicked? Me? Head of the defence department? Right in my face? Seriously? How did her short legs reach my height in the first place?

He thought before he opened his mouth to speak, "You will pay--"

"Shut up! Asshole! Do whatever you can, I don't care. I'll find my way back home, on my own."

Namjoon's expression changed from being infuriated to being hopelessly confused.

"What?! Never thought one day you'll get kicked by a human?" Y/n mockingly added, when he continuously gawked at her face.

"Next time, don't you try to drag my parents down," Y/n lastly added before she went ahead towards the kitchen.

Namjoon got up from his aghast trance and moved towards his room, now a little irritated with the situation.

Dropping his plan to take a bath, he dropped himself on the fluffy mattress, his mind still focused on Y/n and her acts, which according to him were foolish.

I'll complain to Jin Hyung about her disrespectful behavior, and he'll surely kick her out. That girl doesn't deserve our sympathy.

He thought and shifted on his warm mattress. Closing his eyes, he decided to take a nap but abruptly opened them when Y/n's image from the bathroom flashed in front of his closed orbs.

Jolting himself upwards, he rested his head in his hands, "Am I losing my sanity?! Why?! Agh!" He groaned as he clutched his hair.

On hearing footsteps, he stood up and opened his room's door, "Jin Hyung save me! Something's happening with my brain."

SeokJin observed Namjoon's expressions for a moment and replied, "Nothing can happen now, cause it's busted."

"Hyung! I found something!" Namjoon whined.

"What?"

"Y/n has cast a spell on herself before coming here to manipulate our minds, and help her with her plan."

"What?" SeokJin said while chuckling.

"I'm not joking. You too felt something strange when she's around, right?"

SeokJin gawked Namjoon with a confused look before he tiringly added, "Stop your bullshit, and let me go I am tired," SeokJin said while looking down, gesturing Namjoon to release the hem of his shirt, which he didn't realise he was holding.

Namjoon quickly released his shirt from his hold and realised that he crossed the line again. A line that he promised himself to never cross again in his life.

"Tell Y/n to dine the table. I'll have lunch right after my bath."

"Speak of the devil and he doth appear," Namjoon tauntingly spoke making Y/n roll her eyes.

"Y/n, I'll have it after my bath. You can serve him instead."

"I'll wait for you, Hyung," Namjoon said, instantly scowled at her and went back to his room. While sighing at his brother's brat behavior SeokJin started leaving for his bath, but Y/n stopped him from doing so.

"Jin."

"What?"

"Do me a favour."

LATER THAT EVENING

Y/n walked down the stony pathway, leading to the marketplace, glittering lush green fields spread on either side, as if it's a magical carpet carrying her through this ethereal realm. With each gentle breeze, dandelions with fragile glittery stigmas danced with the bees and insects that shined like tiny crystals in the air.

As she ventured further, her gaze shifted to majestic trees that stood tall, their branches covered in a tapestry of glittering leaves, reflecting their green hue, forcing her mind to settle on the fact that it was a world of the fae.

Reaching the market, she glanced at the buzz in front of her, the street was a tapestry of life, alive with the energy of a thousand footsteps. As people hurried past her, she examined their faces to find any hint of an inhumane feature.

Their features were nothing but flawless arts of heaven, their skin glowed in the beaming sunlight as if lightning this realm with their lively souls.

She played with the bag full of coins in her hand and strolled down the cobblestone street.

Just like the human world, ajummas and various food vendors skillfully flipped savoury pancakes, their hands moving with perfection, born from years of practice.

The sizzle of marinated meats filled the air, mingling with the rhythmic chopping of vegetables and the aromatic steam wafting from bowls of steaming bibimbap.

"If these are not humans then how come they have almost the same delicacies?"

Her legs unconsciously moved towards the same old wooden bun shop. This time, ready to taste those tempting buns.

"Ajussi! Can I have two buns please?"

"Oh! It's you again."

"You remember me?" Y/n flashed a weird smile at him.

"Of course! You and Namjoon fought that day."

Y/n's eyes twitched as her brows crinkled at the unpleasant memory, "You know him?"

He hummed, "He and his brothers grew up in front of my eyes, those kids visited my shop almost every day. As they grew older they even started helping me with my workload," he said and looked in a particular direction as if reminiscing his days of youth.

Y/n listened to him with curious eyes as she ate one of the bun, the sweet red bean filling exploded like lava, and a delightful bust of sweetness coated her taste buds.

"Uhmm! Ajussi it's delicious!"

Uncle Yeong chuckled at her priceless reaction while Y/n handed him the coins, and thanked him for his kindness. He smiled back, his eyes hidden from the grey hairs adorning his forehead.

"I'll be visiting again!"

She said and started strolling further through the bustling marketplace, a sense of unease began to creep up on her. Glancing over her shoulder, her heart skipped a beat as she noticed two figures, cloaked in hoodies, seemingly tailing her.

Ignoring her instincts, she moved ahead, stepping towards the next stall which had fishcakes, tteokbokki, gimbap and corn dogs.

The sizzling voice of corndogs getting fried filled the air, as a line of customers waited for their turn.

On reaching nearer, she ordered a gimbap roll, a corn dog, a full plate of tteokbokki and four fish cakes before she proceeded to seat herself on the small table accompanied by a stool.

While munching, she recognized the two same figures whom she noticed before, standing at a foot distance, talking with each other casually.

She again pulled her attention away from them and focused on the tteokbokki in front of her.

"Flavors are the same, just more intense and precise than our world," she commented like a professional food critic.

Paying the bill with coins, she started heading back to the house. While walking, she felt the same two figures following her. Fear gripped her as she quickened her pace, hoping to lose them amidst the crowd.

Who are these individuals? What did they want from me? Are they dangerous?

The uncertainty heightened her anxiety with every passing second. Her mind raced with questions and scenarios as she tried convincing herself that it was all just a coincidence. Maybe they were simply going in the same direction. But deep down she knew something was off.

Their intent stares and deliberate movements made it clear that this was not a mere coincidence.

Her steps halted with agitation as no matter how fast she walked, she found their constant presence, a few steps behind. And at that moment she decided to run for her life.

She ran, tearing the crowd, with the fastest speed her legs could acquire. Her unexpected run made them confused and she almost left them behind amidst the crowd, as she glanced back and spotted them at some distance. Turning around, her body crashed into someone.

With a thud on her face, her body crashed into a person's chest. She jolted backwards, and relief flooded over her when she recognized the person towering over her, but the lingering fear and adrenaline remained along with the sudden urge to hug him, his soft gaze carried emotions of various kinds, beckoning her to unfold their depths.

"Namjoon," she whispered while glancing at him with blurry eyes. Namjoon said nothing just folded their hands together and walked ahead, with paced steps.

He looked behind, probably to locate those two figures and took both of them to a narrow alley with a dead end filled with big trash bins.

"Hide! Fast!" He commanded, and she went beside the trash bin, standing there sticking to it sideways; Namjoon followed from behind, doing the same.

The trash bin was almost her height hiding Y/n completely. Namjoon lowered his head to hide himself, making his face closer to Y/n. His one hand was on the wall behind her, supporting his tall masculine stature.

She stared at his worried features, his eyes looking towards the alley's entrance for the possible two figures coming their way. The droplets on his features were making him look more raw and appealing.

Their gazes met, and he caught her staring. Embarrassed, Y/n quickly shifted his gaze to anywhere but him, but her feminine urge pulled her to glance at him once again.

Namjoon's gaze never once shifted away from her features. He moved his face closer, and his warm breath reached her cheek, but suddenly they heard running footsteps coming closer.

Namjoon looked up in confirmation and shifted his body closer to Y/n, his head now in the crook of her neck. Y/n's breath hitched and he instantly covered her mouth with his other hand.

His cologne was surely not helping Y/n to keep her senses stable, as she held back her urge to explore his built physique.

"Hyung let's go. They are not here," Jeongguk said while glancing across the alley. Soon, Jimin and Jeongguk's footsteps became afar, and the alley became silent again.

"Let's get out of here," with their hands entangled together, Namjoon moved ahead and Y/n tailed behind, trying to match his speedy pace.

Crossing the market, they entered a similar neighbourhood, "We could've fought them together," Y/n spoke.

"Together?" He scoffed, "I'm enough for that, but fighting them means revealing ourselves."

"You're right."

"I'm always right."

"No."

"Y/n, I'm not in the mood to argue with you. I have so much to think about, so shut your mouth," Namjoon blurted while his back still faced her.

Y/n became quiet and her gaze shifted to their locked hands. For an unknown reason, her cheeks flushed and her stomach curled.

After walking further, they reached the house, entered the room, and found Jin comfortably lying on his mattress, his leg was on the low wooden table, which had some papers stacked on it as if he got bored from all the paperwork and decided to give it a rest.

"You two are coming together? That means something happened," Jin questioned while he got up from his position.

"You sent him?" Y/n asked.

Jin nodded, "Who else, little human? You think I'll let you roam around all alone."

Y/n slapped Namjoon's hand away and jumped straight to give Jin a back hug while he was still sitting in his position, "Thank you Jin!" She said and rested her head on his broad shoulders.

Jin remained silent, still puzzled by the change in environment. His ears started turning red as he got frozen in his position.

"Yaaahhhh!" Namjoon frustratingly yelled. Y/n's eyes pierced Namjoon's direction when he further exclaimed.

"Get away from him!"
