ANNIE
RUNAWAY WITH ME

         AFTER LEAVING THE POOL, I went to take a shower to wash off the chlorine smell from the pool before Julain and I went to drop Wally and Winnie off at the airport. Getting changed, I styled my hair in a neat ponytail before grabbing my red raincoat and my phone. Sliding into my red rain boots, I push my door open then squeeze out into the whitewashed corridor, deciding to go a long way so I can walk past Kim. I pass the nurse's station in the center of the floor waving to Kim before walking over to her. "And where are you going?" Kim asks. "Julian and I are taking Wally and Winnie to the airport." "Well I'm on my lunch break now, I'll drive." Arriving at the airport, Kim stayed in the car while Julian and I walked Wally and Winnie to their gate. We said our goodbyes as Me and Julian watched them make their way to their gate. I space out imagining that I'm going to Greece with Winnie and Wally when I say,  “I’m gonna take you to Hawaii.” Julian turns and looks at me.
            “What?” Julian asks, turning to look down at me. “You heard what I said.” I say smiling and walk away.

             That night I lay in bed playing over what I said to Julian in my head. Knowing that I'll never be able to do certain things with my life, I start to feel sad and angry so I call Julian.
              “Hi Annie Grace.” He says, cheerfully into the phone.
              “Meet me outside in 20 minutes.” I say and then hang up.
              I quickly get out of bed and go over to my laptop to search for 2 plane tickets for Maui, Hawaii, I book the flight then start packing my backpack with the essentials- clothes, clean underwear, toothbrush and toothpaste, camera, guidebook, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimsuit,etc. I got dressed and tiptoed to the door opening it slowly making sure the coast was clear before sneaking out to meet Julian. Walking outside, the cold night hitting me, I pull my jacket closer to my body as I search for Julian when I see him.
