It was long after leaving Beast Castle when they arrived back on the Isle. Jay parked the limo behind the stage where they'd be revealing who was coming back to Auradon with them next week. Once everyone was out of the car and had everything they needed, Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos walked around the Isle of the Lost to announce their arrival. While they were gone, Rylee and Morgan started to set everything up for when they came back with all the kids wanting to go over. As they hung posters around the area where they'd make the announcement, the Fitzherbert girl couldn't help but look around at her colorful surroundings. Since the princesses arrived back in Auradon, they'd been working with Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos to make the Isle a better place for its citizens.
Even though they were still trapped behind a magical barrier, the dark island had come a long way. Light posts were placed on every street corner and in every alley, bringing light to the formerly dark places. The walls of every building were given a new coat of paint and were brighter than ever before. The Isle had a different feeling to it that brought a smile to Rylee's face. It looked and felt like a home rather than a prison. Despite not being able to take everyone back to Auradon, the blonde girl was happy leaving them in a much safer place.
"Do you think Gabby's friend filled out an application?" Morgan asked, drawing Rylee's attention back to her just as she finished putting up the last of the posters.
"I hope so. She hasn't been the same smiley girl since Skyler and Holly left to explore Auradon," the Fitzherbert girl responded. It wasn't long after that when the two of them headed up the steps to the stage that overlooked the clearing below to look around at the alleys that surrounded them. "Is it just as weird being back here for you as it is for me?"
"Honestly, I'm trying not to think too much about it," the Macintosh girl answered before letting out a long sigh, "Robbie didn't want me to come back."
"Your new little boyfriend scared you're not gonna come back to Auradon?" Rylee mocked, causing her redheaded friend to roll her eyes before they broke into hysterical laughter.
Before they could continue their conversation, Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos returned with a huge crowd of teens and children who wanted a chance to leave the Isle. Rylee wished she could say she was surprised at how many wanted to leave the only place they ever called home, but she wasn't in the least. Even though they worked to make the Isle a better place to live, it wasn't Auradon. It would never be Auradon. While Mal and Evie went up the stairs to join the two princesses on the balcony, a few teens ran around collecting the applications from everyone with Jay and Carlos.
"Who wants to go? You?" Mal shouted as she pointed down at the cheering crowd.
"Yes, pick me, Mal! Pick me!" a girl called up from the cheering group of villain kids, causing small smiles to form on all of their faces as they looked at all the kids wanting a second chance. The second all of the papers were collected, Jay and Carlos left the crowd of teens and children and sprinted up the steps to stand next to Rylee and Morgan. After looking down at the massive group below one last time, the two princesses followed the four from the Isle into the backroom to look over all the applications.
It didn't take long for Evie to pick out one of the applications just before Jay and Carlos decided to bring over a pair of young brothers. While Mal continued to dig through all the papers in front of her, Morgan found the one belonging to Gabby's friend. Despite finding the application that they needed, Rylee continued to look through all the names of the applicants who wanted to get off the Isle. The Fitzherbert girl kept searching for one specific name when she felt a hand land on her shoulder. A small sigh passed over her lips as she placed the papers on the table before she looked up to meet Evie's gaze.
"I know what you're doing," the daughter of the Evil Queen whispered in an attempt to not draw the attention of their four other friends in the room with them, "you and I both know he wouldn't fill one of these out...not willingly."
"You don't know that," Rylee responded while trying her best to conceal all the emotions she was feeling, "maybe he decided he wanted a second chance after all."
"You shouldn't make time for people who didn't make time for you," the blue-haired girl stated before placing a hand on top of the blonde girl's, "he's not worth it, Ry."
The two of them just stared at each other for a long moment before Mal finally chose an application from the stack on the table in front of her. After Evie sent Rylee one last smile, she stood up from the small table they were sitting at and followed their four other friends out onto the balcony. The Fitzherbert girl stayed back for a moment and stared at the rest of the papers that surrounded her before following them. Cheers filled the air once again the moment the crowd saw them walking out from the backroom. While Jay and Carlos walked down the sets of stairs on either side of the small stage, Rylee stayed on the balcony with Mal, Evie, and Morgan as the crowd began to quiet down.
"I can't believe this day has finally arrived!" Evie exclaimed, making the crowd cheer once again before they settled down to allow her to continue speaking, "I honestly wish we could take you all with us and someday, very soon, maybe we can."
"Yeah, we're gonna be back here so many times. You're gonna be so sick of us," Mal added, causing the crowd to erupt into laughter.
"Can I get a drum roll, please?" the daughter of the Evil Queen requested with a large grin on her face, making the crowd stomp against the concrete before Evie brought the application in her hands up to her chest.
"First, I would like to begin, with the granddaughter of Lady Tremaine, daughter of Drizella, my sweet, sweet friend," the blue-haired girl said before pointing at the young girl that was starting to be congratulated by those surrounding her, "my Dizzy."
The daughter of Drizella let out a squeal as the crowd continued to clap for her. It wasn't long after that when Dizzy sprinted up the stairs to join Evie. As soon as the two friends were reunited, Carlos unrolled the paper in his hand before scanning it over with a large smile on his face.
"Next, is the son of Smee," he announced while looking over at the Smee twins as they shared an emotionless look, "come on, Squeaky."
The chosen Smee boy hesitated for a moment as cheers filled the air. The blonde boy looked over at his brother before his father began ushering his son toward Carlos. If she didn't know what was about to happen next, Rylee's heart would break for Squirmy as he reached out for his brother. As soon as the claps faded, Jay shook the paper in his hands to draw the crowds' attention as a giant smirk appeared on his face.
"And no way, we're splitting up the twins," the son of Jafar announced before turning his gaze to where the other son of Smee stood, "so get over here, Squirmy, come on!"
After exchanging a look with his father, the other son of Smee sprinted over to Jay while Squeaky smiled up at Carlos. Once both twins were standing with Jay and Carlos, Rylee and Morgan took a step forward and drew the crowd's attention toward them.
"Now, I know all of you were only expecting four to come over but, this morning, King Ben announced that Rylee and I were to choose a fifth person to bring over to Auradon," Morgan told the crowd with a smile on her face before gesturing for them to listen to what Rylee had to say.
"Morgan and I met this girl when we were here a few months back and soon discovered how much light she brings to everyone she meets," the Fitzherbert girl said before her gaze landed on the young girl looking up at them with hope in her eyes, "we would like to be the first to welcome the daughter of Hans, Hanna, to Auradon."
The redhead's smile did nothing but grow as the kids near her started to congratulate her. It wasn't long before her initial shock faded then she made her way up the stairs to stand between Rylee and Morgan. Mal sent Hanna a small smile before she turned her attention back to the crowd to announce the last person coming with them to Auradon next week.
"And last, but certainly not least, we all picked this girl because we all agreed that she could use a little bit of Fairy Godmother's goodness class," the purple-haired girl told them with a smile on her face before her eyes landed on the curly-haired girl standing in the middle of the crowd, "give it on up for Dr. Facilier's daughter, Celia."
The girl in question did a little celebratory spin at the sound of her name while the crowd cheered for her. As soon as she got to Mal's side, Jay and Carlos joined them on the balcony with the Smee twins before they gathered in a small circle.
"We'll be back to you guys next week, okay?" Carlos said to the five kids from his place behind Squeaky.
"So, pack your stuff," Jay added before placing his hands on Squirmy's shoulders as a smile appeared on his face, "your own stuff."
"Where are we going?" Mal and Evie asked them, causing the nervous looks on the young five teens' faces to transform into large girls.
"We're going to Auradon!"
