Meredith was on her own this morning, Wednesday had left earlier for her mandated therapy session with Ms. Weem. It was a breezy and bright mourning at Nevermore leading Meredith to explore the large school more without the whisperings and 'discreet' pointing towards her. The school hadn't had a witch in decades so the arrival of not only a witch, but the Carter's heir caused quite a ruckus. A gentle hum filled the silence around Meredith as she explored the castle-like school further, finding a comfortable spot far away from the quad and other students. It was located near a small pound and had a large oak tree to the left of it with a wooden bench underneath it. Meredith smiled at the sight, breathing in the fresh air and setting her things down to get comfortable. She pulled out a book and began to read, basking in the shade that the large tree provided.

Suddenly Meredith tensed up, her heightened hearing and natural power to sense others kicked in. She could feel somebodies' presence nearing the spot she was sitting at. Her hands clenched as she looked up from her book, her head snapping towards the person who was inching closer and closer. Her eyes narrowed before she sighed in relief at the sight of a Nevermore student, dressed in the purple uniform as the others. The boy tenses up at the sight of her before a weary smile spread across his face, his eyes glancing down at her uniform that held the same crest as his.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you or anything. It's just I usually come here to get away from the others to take a break, ya know? I'm not used to others being here .." he explained nervously

Meredith hummed examining the boy, he had curly brown hair that he nervously twisted in his fingers, a chiseled face with piercing blue eyes, and he was extremely tall and lean. She could sense that he was a werewolf, and she vaguely remembers Enid explaining that he was the star player for their lacrosse team, but she could not recall his name.

"There's no need to apologize, it's my fault for intruding on your personal space, I'll take my leave" Meredith says, gathering her things to leave the peaceful spot, a tad disappointed

"No, no, no, it's okay ! You can stay, I'm all for sharing this spot if it's you! I-I mean not that I'm forcing you to stay or anything, it's just that-" He nervously rambles, lifting his hands to motion for her to stay before Meredith cuts him off with a small smile on her face

"If it's alright with you than I'm glad to stay" Meredith cuts him off from his nervous rambling, sitting back down on the wooden bench.

The boy smiles and sits down beside Meredith, putting his hand out.

"I'm Noah, Noah Harte" He introduces himself as Meredith shakes his hand

"I'm Mered-" Before she could finish saying her name, Noah interrupts her

"Meredith Carter, I know, not that I'm not stalking you or anything- it's just that you're kind of the talk of the school right now..." he explains nervously, rubbing the back of his neck and avoiding eye contact

"Are you always this talkative, Noah?" Meredith smiles, a genuine smile, towards Noah.

"Ah- I usually don't embarrass myself this bad when talking to girls..." he trails off, a small smile spreading across his face to reveal a dimple. Meredith laughs at Noah, her head tilting back " I like you Noah" she smirks causing a small blush to spread across the boy's face making him seem timid which was off for a 6'2 guy.

The two continued to talk, the hours passing by before Meredith realizes that it was time to meet Wednesday to go over some kind of plan. Wednesday had told her all about her mysterious findings and Meredith wanted to help in any way she could, she was always up for an adventure. Meredith purses her lips a tad disappointed that she had to leave Noah, he was an interesting person to Meredith.

"I'll see you around Noah, I've got to go meet a friend" Meredith smiles, waving goodbye to the boy who fumbles over his words, a blush spreading across his face.

"Will you be at the festival tonight?" Noah asks watching as Meredith stopped for a split second

"It's mandatory so yes I will be there" Meredith smiles, leaving the boy behind to go to Wednesday's room to find her looking down in confusion at the laptop.

"Good your here, I require your assistance with working this large piece of metal" Wednesday speaks, glancing towards Meredith who snorts at the confused girl. "Since when have you ever wanted to use a laptop, you always said word for word 'you never wanted to be a slave to technology'" Meredith asks with raised eyebrows, her question being answered when the laptop turns on revealing a boy who stares at her in curiosity.

"Hello" he smiles towards Meredith who raises her eyebrows, looking towards Wednesday and back towards the boy but before she could say anything Wednesday was grabbing the laptop to speak to the boy

"This is my friend I was telling you about, Meredith, Meredith this is Tyler, he's going to help us escape this dungeon" Wednesday flatly introduces them

"That's Thing" Wednesday nods towards the hand

"Is he your pet?" Tyler asks in confusion, glancing towards the hand who flips him off

"More like family" Meredith pipes up from beside Wednesday

"Look, I know Nevermore is ground zero for all things weird, but this is next-level. so, what happened to not being a slave to technology?" Tyler asks

"Desperate times"

"Look, are you still willing to help me and Meredith?" Wednesday asks getting straight to the point

Meredith begins to tune them out, laying on Wednesdays bed and fidgeting with her ring. It was her family's crest, a silver ring that held an elegant C for Carter. The ring was supposed to help with managing her powers and to signify that she was from the Carter clan. Though the ring did help contain most of her power, she could still feel it vibrate through her body, fighting to be shown. Having that much power and containing it was not healthy for the young girl, it was slowly eating away her very being which would inevitably be the death of her if she did not learn how to control her powers. Meredith sighs turning to her side, turning her hand as a red light flooded around her hand. Meredith hums a tune, playing with her powers and sending sparks towards the ceiling to cure her boredom as Wednesday and Tyler continue to speak until finally Wednesday hangs up

"It's time to leave this place" Wednesday speaks to Meredith who slides herself out of bed, looking in the mirror to touch her hair up, conjuring a brush out of thin air.

"I was growing to like this place..." Meredith mumbles, fluffing up her hair and touching up her lip gloss.

"Do not grow attached, we will be gone soon" Wednesday grabs her bag and leads the way out of the room. Meredith sighs leaving the room, missing the way the shadows moved around the room to reveal a man with a sinister grin on his face.

"I've finally found you..." He chuckles

Maybe they won't be leaving as soon as they thought....
