•Chapter 5: Herc and Meg•
When I get to Granny's after my meeting with Pan, I explain everything to them and how Mr. Mysterious wants to meet in two days.
"So, this Austin guy, he just going to help?" Fletcher asks, "nothing in return?"
"Not that I know of," I tell them.
"How do you know we can trust him?" Vincent questions.
"I don't," I answer, "that's why I'm not going alone."
After discussing a plan for meeting Austin in the next few days, we leave fake Granny's and make our way to the loft. As soon as I open the door to the loft and we enter, Mary Margaret leaves with determination on her face. Once she's out of sight, we turn our attention to Emma and see a girl with brown hair sitting on the couch with fear in her eyes before Emma looks to us to see our confused faces.
"This is Megara," Emma tells us, "she's helping us find Hook. Meg this is my sister, Everly, and her friends, Sam, Katherine, Fletcher, Vincent, and Harry."
After the introduction, we sent the quiet girl a smile but we don't get a chance to respond before the atmosphere begins to change in the room.
"Regina?" David calls from upstairs.
"What is it?" Regina questions, "did Mary Margaret talk Muscles into giving it another go?"
"I don't think so."
As soon as the words leave his mouth, the room begins to shake and the roof starts to cave in, causing us all to duck for cover. Once the shaking stops and we comprehend the situation at hand, we all sprint out the door and down the stairs.
"Let me guess!" Emma shouts over the noise, "the Cerberus?!"
"The what?!" I question as we continue to run.
When we hear a crash from behind us, we all look to see a black, three-headed dog with red eyes staring back at us. As soon as the image of the demon dog sets into my brain, I follow everyone before we fend off the three-headed beast as long as we can while Megara runs down the street. Once we fend off the demon-dog as long as we can, we follow Megara before meeting up with Mary Margaret and a really good looking boy.
"Are you okay?" Mary Margaret asks us, "what happened?"
"Cerberus," David explains, "he found us."
"Where's the prisoner?"
"She ran when the hellhound attacked," Emma tells her, "we gave her a head start but there was only so long we could hold it off."
My attention is turned to Sam when he taps me on the shoulder before I look at him to see a small smile on his face.
"Mary Margaret's friend has been staring at you since we got here," he whispers.
At his comment, I look over to the boy to see that Sam was right. He doesn't even look away when he notices I'm staring right back at him. Before I can even think as to why this boy is staring at me like that, he then walks over to me as everyone continues their conversation.
"Sorry for staring," he apologizes, "my names Hercules. You can call me Herc."
"Hercules? As in the demigod? Son of Zeus?" Sam questions as Hercules nods, "woah."
Sam's reaction causes the demigod to smile before he looks back to me.
"Does your name happen to be Every?" he asks before my eyes widen then I slowly nod.
"Woah," I hear Vincent say.
"A demigod knows you!" Harry exclaims.
"That's so cool!" Fletcher laughs.
"Yeah," I say, "but how do you know my name?"
"You look like the way he described you but it's your necklace that stood out to me," he answers, "the golden sun charm. It's unique."
"Who told you about it?"
"A boy named Felix. I met him when he first came here. He stayed at the docks for about a week then left."
"Do you know where he went?"
"No. He just disappeared. I thought he moved on."
After I nod and thank him, my attention is drawn back to the situation at hand. The Cerberus.
"We should split up," Mary Margaret announces, "we have to find her before that monster does."
At her suggestion, we all nod before David and Regina go one way with Fletcher and Harry while Emma goes another with Vincent while Sam, Katherine, and I go with Mary Margaret and Hercules in the direction of the fallen clock tower.
"I don't get why you're down here," Hercules whispers to me as we walk down the road.
"What are you talking about?" I question.
"Felix told me you were alive and healthy with your real family. Why are you down here?"
"Because I lost people close to me. I got one back and I'm not leaving without the other. And now that I know that Felix, Harper, and Toby are in trouble, I need to get them back."
As we reach the fallen clock, we hear heavy breathing coming from behind it before we approach the clock to see Megara shaking and looking nervously around her. When she sees us, her terrified look doesn't fade.
"You shouldn't be here," she tells us.
"We're here to help," Mary Margaret tells her before she gasps a few times as her eyes widen in fear and the ground begins to shake.
"He-he found us," she stutters as she points behind us.
Following her finger, we all turn as the hellhound blocking our path before it lets out a growl. As the beast slowly walks towards us, we all back up a bit.
"What now?" Hercules asks as I look to the library behind us then back to the beast.
Before taking a deep breath and chase the nerves away, I shoot my magic at the beast, causing it to stumble back a bit as it whimpers in pain.
"Get her in the library!" I shout, "I'll hold it off as long as I can!"
After I hear footsteps going into the library, I feel someone place a hand on my should and I look to my right to see Sam and Katherine standing next to me with determined smiles on their faces.
"We aren't leaving you alone," Katherine tells me.
"And you can't convince us otherwise," Sam adds.
A smile makes its way to my face before I look back to the beast, who continues to cower as my magic hits it. After a while of shooting magic at the beast without a break, I can feel my energy being drained, knowing that I'm using way too much magic at one time. When the magic within me begins to fade, the world around me becomes blurry before I fall to the floor as the feeling of helplessness surrounds me. As the blob of the beast runs past us and towards the library, the blurry figures of Sam and Katherine kneel next to me.
"Stay awake," I hear Katherine whisper as I go in and out of darkness while I hear yelling and shouting coming from somewhere nearby.
"Come on, Everly," Sam says as I feel lightheaded and my eyes begin to close, "stay awake."
"Don't give up, Sunshine. Fight. Fight for me."
At the sound of his voice, my eyes flash open before I quickly sit up and I look around me, only to see him nowhere in sight.
"Where is he?" I ask.
"Who?" Katherine questions.
"Felix," I answer, "I heard his voice. He was here. Where is he?"
"He wasn't here, Everly," Sam tells me, causing a single tear to escape my eyes as the sudden burst of energy fades and I black out.

After I slowly open my eyes to see a gray ceiling, I quickly sit up and look around the people around me before I run my hand through my hair let out a sigh then I see Hercules walk over to me.
"How are you feeling?" he asks me as he sits down next to me.
"To be honest, awful," I answer with a smile, "but I've been worse."
"I should have given this to you when I first saw you but there was so much going on."
I watch as he reaches into his pocket before he hands me a piece of paper then gets to his feet.
"Thanks for everything," he tells me before he walks back over to Megara.
Once he's gone, I just stare at the piece of paper for a moment before slowly opening it. Hesitation runs through me as my emotions getting caught in my throat when I see the first word written on the paper.
Sunshine,
I don't know if you're ever going to see this or even why I'm writing it but I have to. I didn't get to finish my final words to you. If you ever read this, I need you to know that I love you with every bone in my body and I always will. You are my Sunshine.
Felix
After reading and rereading the note, I quickly wipe away the tears that escaped me before I place the letter in my pocket and look over to Hercules and Megara to see them holding hands across the table. When I hear footsteps fill the room, I turn to see everyone walking over to me.
"Are you alright?" Mary Margaret asks.
"Yeah, Mary Margaret, I'm okay," I answer.
"Actually, it's Snow."
At her correction, I raise an eyebrow at her before looking at all the smiles that surround us then try to match them before looking back to my mom in front of me.
"Okay, Snow," I say, "I'm okay. I was just a little exhausted."

After they explain everything to me that happened when I was unconscious, Sam, Katherine, the former Lost Boys, and I go to the place where souls move on with Mary Margaret, David, Emma, Hercules, and Megara. When we get there, I find myself looking down into the fire below before shuddering then taking my place between Sam and Fletcher.
"Do you think you can get to the prison tunnels?" Megara asks us.
"Yes," Emma responds, "thanks to your map."
"If it weren't for Hook, I'd still be rotting in that cell. You'll tell him I did the right thing? That he was right to trust me?"
"I will. Thank you."
The two share a smile with one another before Hercules turns his attention from the girl beside him to everyone else around him.
"Are you sure you don't want us to stay and help?" he asks.
"I think you've been down here long enough," Snow tells him, "and if you don't cross before your uncle finds you, who knows what he'll do?"
"I was right...you became an amazing hero."
I watch as Snow and Hercules hug for a moment before they pull apart and share a smile. After they end their goodbyes, Hercules looks over to me.
"If you meet my cousin down here, you can trust him," he tells me.
"Who's your cousin?" I ask.
"Austin Nova, the son of Hades."
My eyes widen as Hercules turns around and takes Megara's hand before they walk along the stone bridge as more of the bridge forms in front of them. A bright light appears from the hole in the wall and a palace appears before Hercules and Megara exchange a look then disappear into the light.
